Amazing series of painting videos. One of the best I have ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing. It's so great and so much fun watching you preparing the painting and working on the underpainting.
holy shit!! i had it paused at 19:40 for about a week. When i came back to watch the video I did not know if the log in the screen was painted or if it was your reference. it looks amazingly 3d. like its actually in front of the painting
Thank you @patriciozazzini8302 To make the paint glide better, I applied a very thin layer of medium mixed with turpentine. The painting mediums I use are shown in other video.
What was that medium that you put on your brush tthat you used to swipe over your model's face @ 8:06? Or was it a dry brush that is being used to really push the "still drying" imprimitura into the canvas?🤔
Flake white originally refers to Lead white, but now it's probably based on titanium white. So it would be difficult to create the same texture as with Lead white. However, except for that, it can be done without problems as a technique. There is no problem with any type of black.
More like Bouguereau and less like Rembrandt I would say, but in general a lot of 'old master' painters have used the approach of underpaintings. This particular technique in this video is called Grissaille if I am not mistaken. I do think Rembrandt used this technique too, but I am also pretty sure his techniques evolved over time.
He bases his technique off rembrandt so its closer to his. Bouguereau would scrape off the paint after this to remove any texture. Something osama uses alot
Thank you Prt Prt, PHeMoX, and Harry Simons. Technically speaking, my method is based on the techniques of Rembrandt's time. I'm not too familiar with Bouguereau's method, but I feel he's probably using the Alla prima method primarily. And his paint layer is thin. I choose a method that distinguishes between the underpainting stage and the Glazing and Scumblling stages. At the underpainting stage, I haven't used Grisaille as a perfect monochrome in black and white. I do desaturated chromatic underpainting with white and black, and some earth colors. The warm halftone used for Imprimitura remains transparent in the shade and acts as a color. The bright part is painted opaquely and thickly using Lead white while making the best use of plasticity.
This work was made over 3 years. Of course, in the meantime, I finished several works in parallel, so I didn't spend three years on this work only. And I'm sorry. I didn't quite understand the meaning of your first question. I'm not good at English.
@@caravaggiomerisi6393 I'm not sure if I fully understand the meaning of your question. Use masking tape to paint each floorboard. After it dries, use new masking tape for the next board. They are a very simple task.
I don't clearly remember which manufacturer the canvas used for this work came from. Probably CLAESSENS canvas ...? In any case, I don't use the canvas surface as shown in video Part3. I use the back of the canvas to apply the ground paint.

いつか直接作品を拝見したいです!
ありがとうございます。普通の大学生、ということは普段絵を描くことのない方ということでしょうか?そんな方に響いたということは描き手にとってとてもうれしいことです。
gracias una vez mas por tan magistral clase
Hi, What Do You apply before painting the face with The Brown paint? Oil Linseed oil?
Thank you @patriciozazzini8302 To make the paint glide better, I applied a very thin layer of medium mixed with turpentine.

awesome, wow, thanks
Love your work, some else asked about this.. is that your medium you apply on the face before you start with van dyck brown? A couch?
What was that medium that you put on your brush tthat you used to swipe over your model's face @ 8:06? Or was it a dry brush that is being used to really push the "still drying" imprimitura into the canvas?🤔
Smh I think I understand. You are using the medium that you created...
Maravilha!! :)
Can I use flack white, ivory black? because lead white is not available in my country side and peach black also

After Rembrandt, you are the most important

Hi Osamu, is this lead white made by dutch stuck process?
👍👍👍
how to connect the boards after removing the masking tape and how long it takes you to paint such a work

@@ruedesilly how you paint the boards on the floor painting and take off the tape as you then connect the gaps between the boards
