Nice video Ash, I miss the Red Deer Rut so bad! I really enjoy the realism of the video and it's so good to see someone actually going out into the wilds to photograph Deer and not in a Deer Park where the challenge is zero! Being out in the open like this isn't an easy thing as there is nowhere to hide! wind, scent and concealment all come in to play, as does species knowledge. Good on you mate, Top video and I loved it. Cheers R
Cheers, Richard. The comment is much appreciated. Yeh, I really enjoy going out into the wilds, so to speak, to find my wildlife. It's a lot more than just photography for me. It's about the challenge, knowing your subject, getting cold, wet, and dirty, and enjoying the whole experience. If you're lucky, you will come away with a good shot, but even if you don't, which I have had plenty of, it's still a great day out. 👍
Big problem here on Cannock Chase (Fallow deer) with people encroaching into a conservation area where the deer rut, it used to be inconsiderent dog owners, now its 'photographers', the bucks (stags) seem to more or less hold their ground but the does run off and scatter. Great to see some truly wild deer not the usual deer park stuff, great video.
That other photographer wasn’t exactly the most stealthiest. Clearly doesn’t care about the welfare of the wildlife, just wanted something to post on social media so he can get the likes. Great, atmospheric video though.

Nice vid Ash. Thought the tripod was going over for a minute😂
haha, lol. I cannot afford another broken lens. The one I had with me on the day was a friend's lens that I borrowed, mine should arrive back today. 🤞
Always some twat to ruin your day... And absolutely no concern for the welfare of the deer... Great images Ashley
