Just started again d2r after d2lod 20 years back and my 5th unique ring was sojXD one week in and running hell runs solo or in other peoples cow games.. games too good.
My only BK ring in D2R has dropped in Throne of Destruction near the staircase. Yet i can't find a use for it somehow.

Another good reason to run the mausoleum is that none of the monsters in there have ranged attacks. Your merc will appreciate that.

Hey Dbrunski125, I was just considering to equip my merc with Griffons. Would you agree for a lightning character or is infinity enough? From my understanding it should increase overall lightning damage. What do you think?
antinewbie it won’t. - lightning resistance from items will only affect the player/hireling wearing the item.

I dropped a 15 ias / 40 ehd facet once in singleplayer. Got a sorc fireskiller with 40 hp aswell from hell countess. Probably my best non unique drops in D2.

Very late comment, but can you also tell us how long it takes to do your thousand runs? If someone saw this and goes "Almost nothing good dropped, Mausoleum sucks" but the runs take half as long as Ancient Tunnels, it's very notable.
What are the use of ethereal? it cant be repaired... or am i seeing it wrong?
Maybe you did it, but can you do a big tally of all the best items in the game you have, how many, and which ones your missing. I'd really like to see that.

Question here... How does Phoenix help the Zealer build you mentioned? If you have Death in a weapon, then you can have Phoenix in a shield, but that doesn't give any of the bonuses you mentioned.
Phoenix gives up to 400% off-weapon enhanced damage. Plus up to 65% with palashield's mods... That's more than Fortitude.
100 deadly strike and crushing blows comes from death runeword g face highlords and gores. Easily reach 100 deadly strike and crushing blow. Then combine the enhanced dmg from fort and phoenix. The only annoying this is fire storm proc interrupts zeal but only on the initial attack
I see now, thanks for the explanation. I was so focused on looking for CB and DS and I completely missed the enhanced damage. In my entire Diablo playing I have never found a rune higher than Vex and never found those sweet items like Highlords or G face, so I could never get into this kind of end game build crafting. But I do have an Oath in an eth-cryptic sword, and Crown of Ages, at least those are nice :D
While I prefer Archon to Dusk Shroud, that's a damn fine drop.
Eth Death Zerk is a beautiful thing. I have one as my main on my Zealot, with Azurewrath for the PI's on switch. While I can stay alive P8 hell, my merc can't...😕

how do you get a pheonix shield on open/tcpIp/single player? i dont understand cause ladder runewords state that its only for ladder and doesnt work on open... can someone clue me in here?
There is a single player quality of life mod known as PlugY (the survival kit), which enables ladder only runewords and events such as ubers for single player enjoyment, it's other most notable feature is the single player infinite and shared stashes (to exchange items with your other single player characters). IMO, it is an essential single player mod, and recreates much of what you would be missing if you switched from bnet to single player.

I know this is nit-picky, but when did saying "I dropped X-item" become a thing? It annoys me, but loads of people have started saying it seemingly in the last year or two. Whatever happened to "I found an Ohm from a white mob", or "An Ohm dropped from a white mob"? Saying "I dropped an Ohm from a white mob" actually doesn't make sense at all. My 2c. Why is andariels helmet best for merc? I got that helmet on my merc and fire owns him. I think vamp gaze is best merc helm cause life leech and damage reduction

I booted up d2 again after having not played for about 10 years, can someone specify what items can and cant make runewrods please? I was under the impression items with magic attributes (enhanced damage, enhanced defence etc) could not make runewords. So just want to make sure I dont throw away anything worth keeping. Thanks in advance!
Aston Perrier affixes on non magic items can be used. Like Ed on armor, along with bows, staffs, helmets with + to skills.
