I just wish Blizzard would fix Diablo 1 and make item drops equal to monster level. Anything that drops in levels 14-16 on Hell difficulty will drop in levels 14-16 on a Normal...
I miss this online so much! I remember playing this when I was like 11/12 years old, barely understood the game or any of the character building mechanics and this random guy from Sweden came along and started talking to me (he was like level 90 - he looked like a god to me) helped me through my first diablo run and gave me loads of free stuff! I will never forget that night! The community feel in this game was incredible!
Just got back into Diablo 2 after many years. I recently discovered your channel and I love the mix of informative videos and GG Find stream uploads (unique diadem someday!) The condensed knowledge in videos like these are especially useful for those of us that never truly mastered the endgame when it first came out.
What i did was first character necro summoner. I wanted to be doing the pit in hell on the first day of a new season. I could clear the entire game including baal with a summoner with no gear at all. It actually got easier as you go up in level because the minions level with you. Normal was the hardest part. (this is in hardcore btw) Once you got the act2 nm merc with the might aura and your corpse explosion radius increased it started going pretty fast. Once i got some gear (mostly for my merc actually) i would switch to a trapassin for better clear speed. What i wanted was a guillames helm, a reapers toll and a treachery for my merc. Once i had that i could do hell. What we usually did back then is we'd have a second CD key and that would be a barbarian shouter. The shouter would buff you with shout and battle orders and be set to loot your body just in case you died. You could also buy a CTA and use a friend to loot your body :) Its a lot different now though. I didn't have to find anything specifically. I would just find anything of value and trade for what i needed. There was (and still is i believe) a website d2jsp where you could sell anything of value and then buy what you needed with the forum gold. It was nice too because it was third party so the currency carried over between seasons and obviously characters. Why trappassin you ask? They never die. You lose a lot of value dying in hardcore :) I had a 90-95 trapassin in 5 different bnet seasons and none of them ever died :) I don't want to make this sound like a commercial for jsp but that site was awesome. It tracked your ID how many trades you made. How many posts you made your join date. It was so easy to tell who you could trust. Also showed their account balance. Someone with 20,000 forum gold isnt going to cheat you on a 10 forum gold item. That's just common sense. Because the site would freeze their account and they'd lose everything. You could get everything there even services. One time i lost a smiter in Ubers :(. I paid someone like 20fg to come clear ubers for me and so i could loot my own dead body. I even got the torch. You could buy levelling services too. Someone would level a character for you and not use any skill points. It wasn't too expensive usually. You had to be 'trusted' to advertise services but if you posted for a service anybody could fill it.
lol im with you there, i mean Uber is cool and all but the actual content to play and what you have to do to get to the 3 organ areas and then to Uber trist is not that long, now a days i just make chars and walk them through the acts playing and killing while building my chars, Hell is especially fun cuz you have all your skills to use and the immunes are annoying but add a dynamic to the walking that makes it more intense and you pretty much need 1 other person with you or you will run into something you cant kill (or have a badass merc), this is why i follow the Ladder resets now (let alone ive made every single char build even random useless ones, and maxed their gear on non-ladder so i just dont have anything to do unless im starting again with no gear, of course i still renew my old chars), of course even walking the acts i still skip the random quests that dont need to be done and walk straight to the main quests like if you were being rushed just walking instead of having someone do it for you, act 3 is a pain normally but you can walk straight through act 3 to trav and do the trav quest, then leave and join a baal run game or something thats after act 3 and go back to trav and walk into the open durance since the person that made the game already finished act 3, then you walk in to find the durance 2 wp and leave to make a ng so you can get the meph quest ;D and that way you dont have to get the flail or have someone give you the wps or i like to play Open Bnet and use the Hero Editor to make 1 or 2 charms for my char that add some really nice stats that make things a little easier and lax when walking with 0 starting gear, but not like hax charms that make you invulnerable
Let me also add: The pit can be dangerous, and can spawn some hard hitting monsters that can unexpectedly kill you. I.E. archers with fana/might, extra strong, extra fast. Ancient tunnels can spawn magic immunes, which makes it a bad area for H-din
Those Archers can be pretty nasty. I highly recommend you go for Max Block, and higher defense items. Settling for low defense Shakos, and CoH bases is bad. Every point counts when fighting nasty mLvl 88 Archers. 4 isted JMod, or 3 isted Head Hunter's Glory would be ideal, but 1 isted SS is not a bad budget choice.
Maggot Lair is a great source for Tiaras and Diadems. The other reason I do not like the act 3 dungeons is you can click the entry and appear in the middle of a pack of mobs. Dangerous if you are playing hardcore ( like I do ).
Also, RoF can roll a map where as many as 6 unique monster packs can spawn on the walkway immediately outside of chaos. This gives you the potential of clearing up to 13 level 85 unique monster packs per run.
In terms of exping from 85 to 95 I found Worldstone keep one of the best and underrated locs because of extreme possible density when it is filled with flayers or doom knights. I've seen no common thing in whole D2
Great videos man, keep it up. You obviously put a ton of time and effort into producing your very high quality videos, and we appreciate it. Hope its started to pay off! Also, just got back on plugy. Whats your method of leveling quickly? Trist to 15, tombs to 24, then chaos til 40 like on bnet? Do you go players 1 always, or whatever the highest players N you can kill quickly on?
These days, most of us solo farm Countess for runes instead of farming Tristram. Early runewords give you enough of a buff to get you through to Nightmare Mephisto. From there you can farm Nightmare Andi and Mephisto to get the gear you need to complete Hell. You can also farm Nightmare Countess for mid-game runewords. The Tower has at least one boss pack and one champ pack per level, and sometimes has a second boss pack depending on the layout. So you can get to level 15 in just a few runs. If you don't, you'll still have the gear to get easy kills whilst moving through Act 1 to get to Andi and catch up on levels.
Damn I can't wait for D2R to launch! I haven't played D2 since 2006, and that was using shitty 1Mbps "high speed" cable internet in the outskirts of the city.
I wish you were playing in the Europe realm man. Im a human bot too :p never used amy bot program and been playing for a lot of nights MFing. I must say D2 drop system is addictive XD. Always back to D2 every 1-2 years
Back in the day we had data that showed that Pindle had two windows each day where he would drop two items only; but they were extremely high. This is where we found the most hard to get items and windy’s. Bear in mind this was before when we could roll 19-32sec games over and over. The other one I could give a tip for is the chest statue things in the river of flame. For a long time no one knew that these could yield amazing high runes. Our data sets were coming from 8 friends with 4-8 machines running at all times. We always thought loot was like a wheel that rotated; often when I would get a drop others in the group would get the same item to drop but only if we were all on EAST or WEST together. You wouldn’t believe how many times we would see each other at work and one would say hey I got a text that a windy dropped around 2am and another would say the same. There are a few other areas that are really good that the Chinese botters and a few of us that had the resources to run that fast. It’s all about speed of kills(clearing speed) One note; we noticed 488% was the sweet spot back then(.08-10 version) before the DR for blues and yellows pushed uniques out. A lot of time and effort went into that specific number. We know it worked on those versions. Not sure if they ever tweaked that. Not sure if this was true but it seemed our data showed that no matter the MF level we had no affect on rune quantity or quality of drop; we did learn certain monsters and chest type clicks were more prone for runes. Oh another thing; due to clear speed and MF we would kill NM Meph for mid level uniques and it worked really well. Not sure if they ever changed this either. After reaching ideal MF% kill/clear speed became king. Cows are a good example of this with their low % offset by the quantity. Kill speed in this example is king.
Yeah you botters destroyed the softcore economy. It wasn't even worth playing. The hardcore economy was way better. There were bots there too, but some stuff wasn't botted like Nithilak.
Scott Humphreys Bots killed the economy? Lol, Blizz just setup it very poorly, it has nothing to do with bots. If the game has absolute need of 3rd party sites to even play online decently (looking at D2JSP) then sorry, but botters are not to be blamed.
That isn't what i meant. I just meant it was depressing how little the softcore items were worth on d2jsp. I had a friend who was playing softcore but for 20 minutes of my time in hardcore i could get a geared softcore character including paying to have it levelled. I agree that its blizzard's fault. I think the bots and hacks were part of their business strategy. They'd let people use hacks for like 2 years then they'd ban a bunch of people so they'd have to buy another CD key.
Well, it might have been a problem back in 2009, but now? The low price admission into top game features is defo not a problem, you can play ladder 90lvl with ubers and what not without spending 3 months grinding or spending 500fg you got last season, how is this a bad thing for a game that will soon be 20 years old?
Thank you for the advice! I'll try it out when I ... uh ... get to hell (recently started over from scratch). Funny part is that the minions of destruction are far from the scariest things in D2 LoD.
My vote in terms of scariest thing to kill you (like in hardcore mode) is definitely for Nihlathak including the tomb vipers with the BS invisible poison trails that can spawn there. Easiest area to get one shot before you realize what happened lol.
Hey Dbrunski. Great video and you come across as a very likeable guy. Keep up the good work you got yourself a subscriber.Brought the passion back in my heart for Diablo two. Ty
Dbrunski is the homie. Straight up no questions asked help with a lot of little things at the start of ladder, and was always shouting out if people needed help/stuff etc. It's GringoBandito btw hope you're doing well man :P
Old video so idk if you'll ever see this but you really should type /nopickup when you first load the game and play a character. You only need to type it again if you close diablo 2. It makes it so you don't try to loot stuff when clicking on portal, can only loot with alt held to see items which you do anyway. EDIT: it also works in pd2
2:58, you can run fireball/Frozen orb Sorc and run the pit perfectly fine, you just counter the immunity with each spell. It's fun having to switch up abilities depending on what comes at you next.
I wish I wasn't enjoying your content so much (just found you.) My new graphics card is sitting there saying "but, Outer World's, you promised..." Thanks!
I can’t make sense of why only 2 bosses can drop level 87 gear, although I’m sure there was a good reason the devs had for it. Probably so people don’t simply boss rush, and have to travel through the areas they created, clearing the content the devised.
Few things that I should add. 1) Technically Boss packs (and minions) in Level 84 areas are capable of dropping every item in the game as well. Area level (84) plus (3) = 87 2) The sewers level 2 in Act 3 is a level 85 area as well. It spawns next to no monsters tho so its not even worth mentioning. Although the chest in this location are super chests. 3) Join my discord ;) discord.gg/8GXyu7A If you think I missed anything let me know :)
Galder Srontgorrth it's my understanding the level 83 areas and up can drop base tc87 items. I'm pretty sure. But monsters can't cant roll a high enough monster level to drop some uniques. For ex. Champion pack in a level 83 area only has a monster item level of 85. Coa has item quality level of 86. Hence Coa can't be dropped in a level 83 area off of a champion pack.
the first two maggot lair lvls, the first sewer level, the ruined temple and the disused fane in the kurast bazaar, the forgotten reliquary in upper kurast, the city of the damned in act iv, drifter cavern in act iv, halls of pain on the way to nilathak and the halls of vaught. i think some of the areas reached thru the red portals on the way to the arreat summit too
Dbrunski you forgot that Abaddon in act 5 is also a level 85 area. EDIT - Nevermind? I’m getting conflicting results, some places say it is a level 85 others say it’s not so probably not.
I actually think that the act 3 areas aren't that bad. Yes the monsters are fewer but they are small and very quick to clear. And they are close to each other. So it's not that bad imo
I got dropped a Griffon in A3 temples, I used to clear them with my Java using wiz proyector ring + phoenix shield to get great light res, fire res and lots of life/mana so it was virtually imposible she could die. Bad thing is Java cant get gear for 400-600mf without losing killing speed but can get some 200mf and still have full efficiency killing mobs. Not to mention Java + infy on merc is deadly for unique and act bosses, even killing diablo clone in 6-7 seconds. Most players think a MFing char needs lots of MF but actually anything from 200 to 400 is optimal (even having 200mf makes highly possible getting ethereal weapons for merc and pala shields for exile so its an added value 400+ mf doesnt have) Magic Finding since 1.08 here so I now know what is better in long terms ;)
Just watched this video so I went to the pit lvl 1 and started to kill boss packs on my 400mf light sorc. And sure enough a Eschuta's drops rolled 40% fcr 1all skill 19light 14fire.
I haven't made it to hell difficulty yet, only act 2 on nightmare with my paladin since i keep replaying and unplaying diablo 2. I will keep these locations in mind, thanks..
If you go play as a hammer pally then you should be able to get to act 1 hell no problem. ~65 If you're lucky and find a good pally only shield you could be a smiter with life/mana leech. That will get you to hell ez.
Hell Baal is my favorite MF location. I've easily found at least 7-9 Death Fathoms from him, several of which were near-perfect, and one that was perfect.
Clear any difficulty, go to stony fields in act one, find the stonehenge to take the red teleport to tristram, go up in north west corner and find wirts body, loot it to get his leg, use a town portal back to town and use the horadric cube with a tome of town portals and transmute them to open a red portal to the secret cow level.
The pits are best, really. Got great amount of mobs in both levels where second level is very tiny. I got my Griffon right there with around 120 MF in first week of the current ladder. Did Javazon with the purpose of wearing it but she never get to use is as i never really gear her up and was too scare of dying to put the griffon on. Later on i gave the griffon to a friend that was running light sorc and it was the only piece he were missing along with 5 5 light faced. He put it in good use since i never could. I also got hydra bow there but at this point I had over 500 MF on my sorc, so I don't really see it so amazing as the griffon drop with almost no MF. Pits are best bcuz how easy they are to find and execute in. You don't have to have any special gear and fire-cold sorc works perfectly in this area without anything fancy like Infinity or other hl rune words. You don't need high resistance either. The other places are also good but slower to execute and could be deadly, especially for sorcs.
Can recommend "The Cave" for a fresh MF sorc. "The Pit", not so much, since getting there and the pit itself is super risky on a new sorc before actually finding good gear. Archers, spike fiends can insta-gib you easily (Outer Monastery & Tamoe HL has a lot of them) "Ancient Tunnels" in act 2 is pretty easy like "The Cave", just takes some scouting in "Lost City" for the trap door. It's a rather small area though. "Mausoleum" .. I don't know, but monster density is rather weak or maybe just me?
This game is incredible. For me this once of the greatest game all time.
it’s the best game, period! :)
Greatest of All Time! 🐐
Still the goat for sure
I just wish Blizzard would fix Diablo 1 and make item drops equal to monster level. Anything that drops in levels 14-16 on Hell difficulty will drop in levels 14-16 on a Normal...
Goat!
And D3 is the worst...

get back on it. me and my friends all started playing again.. great community
Seeing that Corona drop while watching in 2020 just killed my sides.
What about the Den of Evil, Act 1, Normal? I got a chipped diamond in there one time. I socketed a skull cap with it. Oh yah.
OH YAH, OH YAH
Skull cap? What a lucky bastard
@@DietWarlord Buddy? BUDDY???
Let's not use fighting words, friend.
Sure thing, bud
Lol nice
Just started playing the new version and its just as good as ever!

What? You never did uber-Tristram runs?
Boy, you missed out on the best part of D2.
Ubers was lame, but the torches were great ;)
lol im with you there, i mean Uber is cool and all but the actual content to play and what you have to do to get to the 3 organ areas and then to Uber trist is not that long, now a days i just make chars and walk them through the acts playing and killing while building my chars, Hell is especially fun cuz you have all your skills to use and the immunes are annoying but add a dynamic to the walking that makes it more intense and you pretty much need 1 other person with you or you will run into something you cant kill (or have a badass merc), this is why i follow the Ladder resets now (let alone ive made every single char build even random useless ones, and maxed their gear on non-ladder so i just dont have anything to do unless im starting again with no gear, of course i still renew my old chars), of course even walking the acts i still skip the random quests that dont need to be done and walk straight to the main quests like if you were being rushed just walking instead of having someone do it for you, act 3 is a pain normally but you can walk straight through act 3 to trav and do the trav quest, then leave and join a baal run game or something thats after act 3 and go back to trav and walk into the open durance since the person that made the game already finished act 3, then you walk in to find the durance 2 wp and leave to make a ng so you can get the meph quest ;D and that way you dont have to get the flail or have someone give you the wps

Funny watching this in 2021 and seeing how much more fluid, expressive and relatable your newer videos are! :)
2:06 That drop really didn't age well....
Hahahaha, CORONA.
Yeah, just got in the comments to see this.
Let me also add:
The pit can be dangerous, and can spawn some hard hitting monsters that can unexpectedly kill you. I.E. archers with fana/might, extra strong, extra fast.

Maggot Lair is a great source for Tiaras and Diadems. The other reason I do not like the act 3 dungeons is you can click the entry and appear in the middle of a pack of mobs. Dangerous if you are playing hardcore ( like I do ).
All 3 levels or just last third level is worth farming?
Also, RoF can roll a map where as many as 6 unique monster packs can spawn on the walkway immediately outside of chaos. This gives you the potential of clearing up to 13 level 85 unique monster packs per run.

Great video! Very concise, informative, and easy to understand. Thanks for the great content.
A friendly Edwin? What is this??
Thanks! these videos are so helpful. My husband and I are in the process of starting our Frenzy Zerk and Blizzard Sorc.

This info will be handy for when remaster releases, thanks.
I cant help but notice how much how you say "sparkly chests" contrasts with the pretty serious tone of the video lol
I can still remember life before lod farming act 4 for gold then gambling it all on sojs.
My friend and I just found a 17/13 griffon's eye in The Pit Level 2. wee.. Thx for the vids!
Great videos, Dbrunski!
Would love to see an updated version of this vid for PD2!
I wish I wasn't enjoying your content so much (just found you.) My new graphics card is sitting there saying "but, Outer World's, you promised..." Thanks!
I know I am 2years late for this vid..... but It's still awesome. Thankx for the info and how well it's laid out for us/me
Another great vid! But I don't think any1 will go to Maggot Lair for farming 😃👍
I'm surprised he mentioned the Maggot Lair Level 3, but he didn't mention Act 3 Sewers Level 2. This video is not complete. 😂
I can’t make sense of why only 2 bosses can drop level 87 gear, although I’m sure there was a good reason the devs had for it. Probably so people don’t simply boss rush, and have to travel through the areas they created, clearing the content the devised.
350K views for a 20 years old game (18 years at the time of upload)
kinda warms my heart.
It left it’s place in all our hearts ❤️
i really enjoy this vid i learned good info. Time for some moseleum runs on my 84 nonladder sorc
glad it helped :)
Crazy video editing. Perfect for impatient people.
Hell yeah on constant d2 content bro, crushin it !!
Crazy, back in my day everyone thought farming Meph was the best way to find good gear.
Thanks so much DBrunski! This helped so much!
Bought this game like 7 times since like 2003 😂 been playing on and off for almost 20 years
This was really helpful. Favorited!
Awesome video for those who are new to the game! Keep it up man!
Im glad they didnt phase out DIABLO: LOD
Few things that I should add.
1) Technically Boss packs (and minions) in Level 84 areas are capable of dropping every item in the game as well. Area level (84) plus (3) = 87
2) The sewers level 2 in Act 3 is a level 85 area as well. It spawns next to no monsters tho so its not even worth mentioning. Although the chest in this location are super chests.
3) Join my discord ;) discord.gg/8GXyu7A
If you think I missed anything let me know :)
to 1) i'd like to add that those areas need to have tc87 assigned to them (which is most likely the case but i dunno).
And area lvl 84 are??
the first two maggot lair lvls, the first sewer level, the ruined temple and the disused fane in the kurast bazaar, the forgotten reliquary in upper kurast, the city of the damned in act iv, drifter cavern in act iv, halls of pain on the way to nilathak and the halls of vaught. i think some of the areas reached thru the red portals on the way to the arreat summit too
Cheers bro!
Useful video for the upcoming remaster
Great video! Will give them all a try so I don't get bored.
I think they made the loot drops from the Chaos Sanctuary minions higher so that you have a chance to get better gear before the boss fight.
This summary is very good!! Thanks
Not sure if it's like this in any other game modes, but the Ancient Tunnels on H.C. Ladder always has magic immune monsters.
Dbrunski you forgot that Abaddon in act 5 is also a level 85 area. EDIT - Nevermind? I’m getting conflicting results, some places say it is a level 85 others say it’s not so probably not.
This is just what i was looking for. thanks so much!
Immeaditly Pressed the like button before watching
MegaMetalSolid metal gear solid :) love that gane series so much!
One of your better videos, to be sure!
wow that was a educational video! thanks dbrunski. 😀😉 💓
so excited for d2r. hope the d2 community comes back
It is. But terrible optimization
Excellent guide man!
Wow thank you So much this has helped tremendously! love you channel keep it up!!!
Glad it helped!
I can't wait to test this out , Thank you
29% Deaths Fathom from Baal, so yes he definitely drops Godly!!
I've found 3 Fathoms in my life, a 15%, 16%, and 18% I'm pretty sure. That item is cursed for me haha.
I also suggested that. Nice bro!
Great Video, greetings from Russia
Hey man amazing video as usual, if possible could you also say what player level is enough for these area ?
"the dreaded burning souls" indeed... I absolutely hate them xD
Just watched this video so I went to the pit lvl 1 and started to kill boss packs on my 400mf light sorc. And sure enough a Eschuta's drops rolled 40% fcr 1all skill 19light 14fire.
we have the same haircut. Love your content dude
I haven't made it to hell difficulty yet, only act 2 on nightmare with my paladin since i keep replaying and unplaying diablo 2. I will keep these locations in mind, thanks..
If you go play as a hammer pally then you should be able to get to act 1 hell no problem. ~65
If you're lucky and find a good pally only shield you could be a smiter with life/mana leech. That will get you to hell ez.
Nice info, keep up the good videos
Awesome video once again dude!
Appreciate the video and information! Thank you
maggot lair is good on some other characters rather than sorceress however as the tunnels get monsters to form a line which is great for some skills.
Good video! In which order would you classify these areas?
Great video as always. Big up!
Player: Baal run - 1038
Me: *joins
Player was slain by burning soul
Player: quits
Me: Quits
God this comment brought back memories lmao
@@mjstang66 unless we have a faith Amazon stacked with 355 poison small charms, omg I can’t wait to build that again
Awesome video, but you can keep the act 3 dungeons. Not a fan of walking into a meatgrinder right at the door!
Good work , keep them coming !
For me Mephisto's durance of hate and Mephisto himself was the best farm spot
I soaked it up. One thing I did not know was that the seal bosses and diablo are item capped. I just got an old laptop I'll be back on this game soon
Mang Song's Lesson from the Mausoleum. Best find for my sorceress
Hell Baal is my favorite MF location. I've easily found at least 7-9 Death Fathoms from him, several of which were near-perfect, and one that was perfect.
I also exclusively play Blizzard Sorceresses, so Fathoms have always been much appreciated.
bob the robber on hud games is the funest game ive played this year.
love your content ..keep it going ....MFing is always great fun for me in d2 ....and to watch others farming as well !!!
just what i needed -- thanks!
there is also the secret level of cows, we can access only with the bone of the kid but i don't remember how to do.
The other places are also good but slower to execute and could be deadly, especially for sorcs.
no worries bruns!!! i LOVE when you cram it all in!!! ;)
Thanks, very usefull information!
Ah yes Epic Video Lord Dbrunski
I wish the Frozen River in act 5 was a lvl 85 areas. Would have made for a nice change of pace.
Can recommend "The Cave" for a fresh MF sorc.
"The Pit", not so much, since getting there and the pit itself is super risky on a new sorc before actually finding good gear.
Archers, spike fiends can insta-gib you easily (Outer Monastery & Tamoe HL has a lot of them)
"Ancient Tunnels" in act 2 is pretty easy like "The Cave", just takes some scouting in "Lost City" for the trap door.
It's a rather small area though.
"Mausoleum" .. I don't know, but monster density is rather weak or maybe just me?
