1. skins do impact games. Like someone already said: animations, and animation cancelation and so on. And there is so many skins, that sometimes I don't even recognize what approached me and can't react correctly. 2. how is the chair problem silly? They literaly have to sit in those chairs for HOURS, under the lights, on cameras, with thousands of people watching them and commenting on their every move. They have to be focused 200% the whole game. If I were in their place, like HELL would I want to sit in a chair that would make me loose my focus because it's uncomfortable for me, it creaks, it hurts my back or whatever... Comfort is very important when playing on stage. You want to have a comfortable chair, a comfortable keyboard and mouse setting, and most definitely a skin that you are comfortable with. @@blustgt8814 some skins change the animations of the abilities/auto atacks, e.g. base/battle bunny/championship Riven have roughly the same animations but dawnbringer Riven and dragonblade Riven have a lot of quite different aa/spell animations, which can make her feel a bit different to play. Some skins also feel like they have a lot smoother animations and just feel better because of that. If you ever played base Rumble and super galaxy Rumble you never want to play with the base skin again because it feels very clunky in comparision.
This is true Have you ever played dota? Theres one hero with a golden immortal item which changes that look of its ultimate The ability shoots down golden beams that when casted twice it so painful too look at That it self can really effect how the goes on
Ik lots of ppl talked about the skin issue and I agree skins can be very important to pro LoL players but same with the chair issue! If a player has an uncomfortable chair it could cause them to squirm and the players are already stressed so having a uncomfortable chair might add to that stress
In defense of the skin guy, skins somewhat influence the game. A while ago I wrote it down how many Blitzcrank Qs I hit/miss during each game with 3 different skins through a bunch of games. I think it was near 80 games with each. With my "best" skin I was 14% more accurate than with my "worst" skin. So even if it's just player perception, it kinda influences the outcome. (Also iBlitz's hand is visually smaller than the skill's hitbox, making it somewhat more difficult for players to reliably avoid what could be just a near miss)
*Tournament going* Player: I think there's a bug in the game. LOL: Don't worry we will fix that issue. *League of legends New Lux Skin* Lol: All done. :)
2:22 some skins that change the look of the abilities may change how well you hit the abilities, I played for a year with final boss veigar that completely changes the Q and when I got banned and had to make a new account and didnt feel like buying veigar a $15 skin so I bought the grey beard but it felt completely different, same thing with battle boss blitzcrank and every other blitz skin and dont get me started on pulsefire ezreal, older skins or champions may have older animations so if you switch them up it might feel different, but i dont know about Shen whos not really skill shot heavy
Exactly, I mostly play orianna with winter wonder skin. At the end of the season the Victorious orianna was a reward and I went to play her one game to test her out, needless to say the animation is different which made last hitting with basic very hard for me and it felt like a completely new champion. Now this is something that you get used to after a game or two its no big deal, but in situations like worlds where every single detail matters because you have to be 100% focused, and having a different skin that you didnt practice on feels way off and can make you perfom badly. It was Crazy's everyright to do so, because in the end he did pick the skin but game didnt load it due to some bug.
@@grrumakemeangry steel legion lux is a really well known banned skin bc her Q & E abilities look extremely similar and are hard to distinguish in team fights.
Just an information for you 1. Skin does have some impact for your game. 2. For C9 vs FLY one, the chronobreak is actually a wrong decision. It is just a vision bug. MF still doing dmg with her R. I said this when the game come out as well. The reason why they cant kill Smoothie there is about LemonNation forgetting to use his W+E. At the second attempt after the chronobreak, Lemon does use them and so they got the kill.
It's not about having a slight advantage or anything in most cases. But using a certain skin over a long time can make any other skin or the base skin uncomfortable it that makes sense. Especially on champs like riven there is quite the difference with animations for example.
@@ariesbaez314 Sorry to tell you but actually no. I think Faker did said he thinks some skins have small differences, therefore he keep using the classic one.
Oh, I see why they wanted TPA Shen. It’s because it makes different sounds on hit. You can more easily time the confirmed hits. Warlord Shen doesn’t have any audio differences, soooo. Sure it doesn’t have a major change but I can see why it was important to want to restart for that particular skin. It’s part of the play style and not the look.
2:26 - Are you sure about that? muse Sona makes her smaller, iBlitz has no chain on his hook, Reaper Draven is 20 hues away from melting into the river ....
Skins completely affect the game. On Vi, her E animation can be seen a lot farther on some skins... when stealing enemy raptors with certain skins(including base) the enemy midlaner can see the e animation and counter you. When Demon Vi came out it was game changing as it was the first time the e animation was no longer noticeable outside of the enemy raptor pit.
2:30 liar :O "(Leonas) Sunlight deals 1 less damage to champions wearing sunglasses (whether by default like Vayne Original or through a skin like Riot Graves or Surfer Singed)." You can, even if the effect is nearly not there, pay to win xD
if im not mistaken the easter egg/mission game changing effects arent in championship games, like the sunglasses, the senna thresh mission, the khazix rengar mission and the ice queen visual
I don’t know, but there’s something about skins that make me feel more motivated and powerful... like my game is different whenever I use Star Guardian Rakan, just, made me feel confident... I DONT KNOW WHY RKFJSBEJFJD
Skins have an impact. Certain skins have easily seen visual cues for attacks, and some have less noticeable coloring with background. It’s small, but some attacks even have deceptive hit boxes depending on skin used.
11:08 I had this chance before, I got it I was forced Heimerdinger in a (normal) URF game, we were losing, and were aboutta lose nexus. I was in top pushing with minions and was finishing off the last nexus turret and then the 3 enemies at our nexus which was 2 shotable chased a respawned player and I pulled it off It was hilarious for both teams
I completely understand the skin issue, when you're used to seeing a certain character look a certain way, I can understand how not having that skin could throw you off at least slightly
Actually some skins do give some advantages, like blending more into the environment, making your skils SLIGHT camouflaged like Annie's skin Frostfire blends well in ARAM mode.
5:27 Miss Fortune R does damage, just the animation is invisible. You can see the minion in front of her taking high dmg and how zyra HP bar goes down quickly
Skin does affect your game.. greater skin, greater BM.. first time I encountered dark star jhin I thought nocturne ultied and sometimes I mistook Leb for either lux or morgana because I’m not familiar with their skins and..... Commando skins used to have a hidden passive against Leona’s ultimate
Skins do matter due to how they look and hitboxes on abilities but i would like a turn enemy skins off opttion because i know what character it is but i dont instantly recognize them
@@GGG_gaming Correct. Sorry about my messy writing but it isn’t my point here, my point here is a small moment of confusion about who that character is and what is being casted at me.
Correction, Skins do have an affect on the game. Some of the animations are snappier/easier or harder to see. I refunded PFE because the AA animation was vastly different to any other Ezreal skin.
Skins can also give sound queues. For me, I don’t mind any Lulu’s skins, but the Cosmo one has faint sounds. I have to pay very close attention to her abilities. On her Star Guardian, I can hear when Pix jumps on an ally or when it jumps on an enemy. Visual wise, you can also see slight details about it, too. With the terrain being a bit murky, the slight color of the skin can also be a factor depending where the fight occurred. Heck, even ward skins have a value here. If every single enemy member has different ward skins, it’s much easier to track who warded so I can alert my team who did it and what do they have currently to see if they can ward again. If everyone was the same, I can’t tell if the jungler or the other members did it. It’s just telling where the ward is, but not who did it
Also, funny enough about wards, did you know none of the Star Guardian skins with the original Star Guardian ward triggers another sound.... but Lux does? I’ve played with and against Star Guardian Lux and, without fail, whenever I set a Star Guardian ward, I hear a pop like what Lux does. Any other partner, or myself included with Star Guardian Lulu, that sound is not present. It ONLY happens if Lux with that skin is active. If it is, you’ll hear it
Kind of goes to show how inflexible professional LoL players are. They have their tactics that they will literally do every single match, down to the second. It's why when someone has a counter to their tactics, their teams just fall.apart.
We had simar issue at school tournament. One team was winning but loosing team player couldn't use flash (sett hexflash bug). The winning team had baron and we decided to extend from bo3 to bo5 and to our surprise loosing team started winning so imo it's never good option to declare winners early
Skins can have major impacts. One of tryndameres skins has faster AA animation. Varus archligth skin has ult animation that is harder to dodge. Caitlins pulsefire skin enables for visually larger traps, that easier zones people. Nidalees headhunter skin has someweird bug in it that hits people out of range. Nunus arcade skin (i think) has a ult countdown only visable to allied team, skarners battlecast skin makes it super hard to see who owns those circles you can claim, making enemies think they already claimed it. The list goes on, but the point is that some skins visually camouflage skills, alters animations or provide benefits in someway. Which is why some skins are banned, if im not mistaken
0:14 wouldnt a better analogy be something like: if the game stops working at an esports event, then the show is kinda over if an earthquake strikes, destroying the basketball field, then the show is kinda over a basketball breaking is more equivilent to a keyboard breaking
Skins are purely cosmetic 2:30 yet there is a list that talks about skins that are banned from competitive play because they are gameplay influencing... but every skin has some minor impact, as already a different color palette can slightly alter the look and change on how you perceive his hitbox, as well as different colored particles for skills can alter perception of the opposing player, especially if it is a skin the opponent has not scrimmed again. Also it is probably a valid reason because it was a glitch that did give you a different skin than the one you selected, so it is an issue not because of a player error but because of a technical issue. Also in some cases it might even be an issue because of organizational and marketing concerns... imagine having your own championship skins in the game, you select that skin and it gives you a different one. At 10:40 iot should have been a remake out of principle since in other instances of server or connection issues the game was remade. I could only see them deciding a winner if the team would win within the next minute, like being 5vs2 on the exposed nexus or after an ace and going into the enemy base.
I agree with the first one completely, while true that skins do not impact the stats of a champion it for sure affects how the champions feels. The fluidity of the animations the visuals of the ability hitbox very very minor things but things that are noticeable when playing.
I agree, skins are mostly only cosmetic. But there are skins wich give you a different feeling. for example lastitting feels better with lunar wraith caitlyn that it does with arcade cait. And some spells are more diff to see with certain skins like arclight varus. I mean, yeah maybe not with Shen... but there are benefits or disadvantages with some. (Project Leona's E feels shorter, Poolparty SKins feel weaker to me and so on)
5:20 But in fact that in that time, other guy just kill Baron for example and opposite team player didnt notice that and dragon was killed, but if the time run at back the opposite team player instantly know that guy who kill the Baron before wants to kill it again and opposite player can steal Baron or kill him cuz he notice him...
It's an issue for me but only on some champions, like lux and kai'sa. Lux's q with her SG skin is just so bright and easy to spot compared to her elementalist skin, and i just like Kai'sas IG skin because its so smooth
yes some skins are banned cause of visual clarity for them are bad, underworld tf cause its hard to see which pick a card he has, steelegion lux has been banned since its release,i believe there is a singed skin and like 3 more
To have the right skin as a competitive player is really important because ure familiar with the animations and if u play the same skin over and over another skin feels like another champion for example high noon lucian and Projekt Lucian there's a huge gap between those
2:30 *ACTUALLY* some skins make it a LOT more difficult for the enemy to see whats going on. ITS A THING. Either you got like a big purple glob shooting .... or you got a hue green flimsy flash which cant be seen vs the grass. Same for the animation vs hitboxes. Some appear tinier than they are. There is a lot of bs going on in LoL. Plus he isnt used to see those moves like that and it can hamper timing
Nico- "Skins have no effect on the game" Me getting grabbed by Blitz that has a skin that makes the hand disappear before the spell goes out- "You sure about that..?" And then there are those skins that make it look like the hitbox is bigger or moved a bit, but when you land your skillshot, it completly misses :D
Some skins are banned in pro play, sure, but saying skins have no effect on gameplay isn't entirely true, at least not generally. I play worse with some skins and better on others. Some animations are nicer, some spell effects are harder to see and dodge etc. etc. I legit feel like Elementalist Lux, for example, buffs the damn champion because the animations are so smooth. Of course, such minor things shouldn't have a major effect on pro players.
@@thebanable7721 Sure. And they should get the skin they chose. I just don't think the difference is as major in pro play as it might be for the rest of us plebs.

Skins are important in competitive play, hence why some of them are disabled. It's a tiny difference in most cases, but the differences are there.
Any skin that gives zyra green roots should be banned IMO, that shit's impossible to see coming if you're not looking at zyra when she casts it.

I know you probably don't get this a lot, but thank you for compiling history in a neat and semi-organized fashion. I applaud your efforts and hope many others do as well.
skins are not just cosmetic, they now have sound affects too.
1. skins do impact games.
But yeah, laugh you idiots, whose whole LoL carrier consists of streaming to Twitch for your 1 viewer which is your friend who is moderating your chat.

Comfort is very important when playing on stage. You want to have a comfortable chair, a comfortable keyboard and mouse setting, and most definitely a skin that you are comfortable with. I'm sure there are many times where you forgot to choose a skin and got tilted off it because you didn't have the correct skin.
EDIT: Nice. Just watched finish the video and ended up predicting the chair :P
I agree with you i have played so many games and picked the wrong skim and just played bad

Nicolai: Skins don't impact the game in any way
Rumble, Riven, Lee Sin Mains: Are you sure about that?
I will surely not try a new lee sin skin in a ranked game
How do they affect the game?
@@blustgt8814 some skins change the animations of the abilities/auto atacks, e.g. base/battle bunny/championship Riven have roughly the same animations but dawnbringer Riven and dragonblade Riven have a lot of quite different aa/spell animations, which can make her feel a bit different to play. Some skins also feel like they have a lot smoother animations and just feel better because of that. If you ever played base Rumble and super galaxy Rumble you never want to play with the base skin again because it feels very clunky in comparision.
skins actually do matter in some cases, the effects and feel of the skin can affect gameplay.
This is true
Have you ever played dota?
Theres one hero with a golden immortal item which changes that look of its ultimate
The ability shoots down golden beams that when casted twice it so painful too look at
That it self can really effect how the goes on
Ik lots of ppl talked about the skin issue and I agree skins can be very important to pro LoL players but same with the chair issue! If a player has an uncomfortable chair it could cause them to squirm and the players are already stressed so having a uncomfortable chair might add to that stress
The chair issue is as big as s tennis court having a hole in it. Not sure how so consider it silly.
Imagine sitting in a uncomfortable chair for half an hour+. Do you think that would reduce your performance? I think it would.
*Tournament going*
Player: I think there's a bug in the game.
LOL: Don't worry we will fix that issue.
*League of legends New Lux Skin*
Lol: All done. :)
Ngl for me DCLux and CLux is better than her ultimate skin lol
2:25 For me yes because some skin makes their abilities harder to see.
"Skins are purely cosmetic"?
I guess thats why some skins are actually banned from esport

At the second attempt after the chronobreak, Lemon does use them and so they got the kill.
for some other player...skin doesnt have impact in game like faker

Anyone else appreciate that the took used to rewind the game is called "Chronobreak" aka Ekko's ultimate where he rewinds...

if im not mistaken the easter egg/mission game changing effects arent in championship games, like the sunglasses, the senna thresh mission, the khazix rengar mission and the ice queen visual

Skins have an impact. Certain skins have easily seen visual cues for attacks, and some have less noticeable coloring with background. It’s small, but some attacks even have deceptive hit boxes depending on skin used.

From what I got from the comments, yes
There are many skins that feel much cleaner and smoother to play than others tho, i kinda get it that Crazy wanted to start over xD
You got a bigass red name above you
5:27 Miss Fortune R does damage, just the animation is invisible. You can see the minion in front of her taking high dmg and how zyra HP bar goes down quickly
skins can actually impact games. for example, jannas whirlwind can be less noticeable with some skins rather than like a purple one coming at you.
Champions wearing shades takes 1% less damage on leonas ult
those effects are disabled in championship games khazix rengar mission, senna thresh mission, and icequeen visual are all disabled
Skins do matter due to how they look and hitboxes on abilities but i would like a turn enemy skins off opttion because i know what character it is but i dont instantly recognize them
the hitbox doesnt change just the visual looks thinner/lighter ect the hitboxes them selves are the exact same still just some are easier to see
@@GGG_gaming Correct.

Very huge difference!
skin have impact , on hitbox for some or animation for other like blitz one
This video was very good, first video I watch from this creator and it was really enjoyable. Good work.
I got Faker Happy birthday's ad at begining of this video. *NANI*
8:36 I love how the players are completely serious about the "chair issue". They have a serious face and are like "yep I got a chair issue"
Well it is a serious issue in a professional match.
Actually they aren’t “cosmetics” it helps a lot lol
0:14 wouldnt a better analogy be something like:
if the game stops working at an esports event, then the show is kinda over
if an earthquake strikes, destroying the basketball field, then the show is kinda over
a basketball breaking is more equivilent to a keyboard breaking
Skins matter, you feel more natural using the skins you always use to use.
Actually sometimes skin have advantage and disadvantages
For example pulse fire fiora has disadvantage cuz her passive literally looks like blue buff
Well yeah they do i have 250k on yas and i cant imagine playing him without skin cuz he feels like diff champ and can only play him with nightbringer
Skins do matter. Why do you think underworld tf is banned (at least I’m pretty sure it’s banned)
yes some skins are banned cause of visual clarity for them are bad, underworld tf cause its hard to see which pick a card he has, steelegion lux has been banned since its release,i believe there is a singed skin and like 3 more
Nicolai: Skins doest impact the game.
Riven and her animations: sure m8
Iuyh

The SKT vs KT game was clearly a case of misusing pauses to break the enemy team's mental. Maybe not the first pause, but definitely the second.
Honorable mention: Cuvee's bathroom issue
Nico- "Skins have no effect on the game"
Me getting grabbed by Blitz that has a skin that makes the hand disappear before the spell goes out- "You sure about that..?"
And then there are those skins that make it look like the hitbox is bigger or moved a bit, but when you land your skillshot, it completly misses :D
"Skins have 0 effect on the game, they're purely cosmetic" Is like saying
"EQ/Mental health isn't important"
Some skins are banned in pro play, sure, but saying skins have no effect on gameplay isn't entirely true, at least not generally. I play worse with some skins and better on others. Some animations are nicer, some spell effects are harder to see and dodge etc. etc. I legit feel like Elementalist Lux, for example, buffs the damn champion because the animations are so smooth. Of course, such minor things shouldn't have a major effect on pro players.
What does though is their mental and what you just stated is exactly that appeal and comfort
@@thebanable7721 Sure. And they should get the skin they chose. I just don't think the difference is as major in pro play as it might be for the rest of us plebs.
