- For most players, being stuck in a match for anything longer than 40 minutes already gets annoying and exhausting. But imagine what happens when a match reaches one hour, two hours, three hours, or even days.
This is the story of some of the longest games ever played in esports history.
0:00 - Intro
0:18 - CS:GO
2:04 - League of Legends
4:22 - DOTA 2

The poor casters LMAO, I can’t imagine casting a game 3 after that
I would pop off as a caster just cause it was over
@@DeertickDaniel there's no way you would because all of that would be extremely exhausting
Exactly what I came down here to say lol. Putting forth that kind of energy for even an hour straight is tough but even as the game broke three hours that one still kept that energy going. It's honestly impressive. I bet his voice box was in absolute misery the next day though.
"do we get a bathroom break?" is fucking hilarious
OD and purge really took that game from what should be a boring wait for the game to end to a work of art. Like I go back and watch the highlights of that game when I get nostalgic.
Shbvmbe ki
I love that the DOTA 2 casters were playing Two Steps from Hell
Bro the caster was so happy when the game ended
Strength of a thousand man is a fucking banger
El que quiera perder su tiempo 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Perfect moment to play str of k man. Both team exhausted, but pushing to max😂😂😂
OD Pixel is best caster that ever lived lol😅
"Ruben had to do so while Andre was sleeping" 😂😂😂 that AOE2 game was too crazy
Ayo
there is actually a longer starcraft 2 game: ZhuGeLiang vs Lillekanin went on for 4h 10min (won by ZhuGeLiang), it was so long that one of the casters decided to make pancakes during the game. this also happened fairly early during an open qualifier for the world championship series, so the schedule was... quite delayed. though it's also worth mentioning that back then (also when the firecake vs mana was played), the in-game time went faster than real time. so the 4h 10min game was "only" a bit over 3 hours of real time.
Isn’t that still the case today? I only play campaign and on “faster” game speed(in other games, it’s called normal), ingame timer is faster.
Did they fix “faster” in mp?
@@caelestigladii i think they changed it with legacy of the void
Definitely changed in legacy of the void
I must of said wtf atleast 5 times in this single paragraph
The age of empires game lmfao😂🎉
I'm proud to say that I watched part of that AOE2 game.
saaaaame hahahahahaha good days
94 minutes of League in one game sounds like pure hell
94 minutes is basically shares a full length of movie running times
23 kills in 94 minutes btw
Average of ~0.24-0.25 kills per minute or 1 kill per 4 minutes
WE HAVE 10 TIMES BIGGER THE PLAYERBASE HEY DOTA 2 BIGGER BIGGER, yeah guess why you "get me instant emotions" 90iq eblan
when my brother and I were beginners, our normal game was 1 and a half hours lol
@@VanjesKoswhat are you even yapping about?
I was in a an hour and 10 minute game once. I remember people having terrible vision scores. despite how long it went.
The glitches in the DOTA 2 game remind me of the one braindead strategy in Dead by Daylight where the killer's goal, yes their intended win condition, was to stall for TWO HOURS (or until the survivors made a bad enough mistake to throw you the game, or they gave up and let themselves die) which was when the server discontinued the connection and killed all the survivors.
For non-DBD players, a DBD match is typically 10-20 minutes. A long one might be 35
Don't wanna be that guy but It's 1h long after which server kills off all survivors. And u still can do it but after 3 gen nerf it's not quite possible :)
@@tin-slayer-3368 It's 1 hour now, but it used to be 2. They changed it because of cheaters holding people hostage. And yeah, I think after the 8 kick gen block it's not feasible anymore
Skull Merchant was not a well-designed character lol
I remember 2016 dbd beta. Oh the days when you could sit all day in the basement and the killer couldn’t find you or the high quality hatch stand offs. 😂
Chess meta. Call of brine, Eruption, Overcharge preventing a 3 gen to be broken. Circle of healing on the other side of the map so survs won't ever be injured on gens.
"It was supposed to be a wash"
Proceeds to go band for band for a total of 88 rounds
This reminds me of a game I casted in a yugioh duel links team league that lasted 4 hours (games usually lasted 1-2 hours) due to a stall deck being meta. I also remember another game lasted that long and the caster fell asleep midway and woke up later lmao
The passion in the DOTA 2 casters is something else.🤣
How can you not love Dota 2?!?! :)
His voive even starting to crack lol. If 1more hour he probably need medical attention ngl. The commitment is respectable
ODPixel the GOAT 🐐
The team that gave us “no one has ever done that in the history of DOTA!”
OD pixel is among the best there is on scene 👍
Not the Omega Strikers background music LMAO
Thought I was hallucinating that LOL
Bro nice to see omega strikers getting more recognition
How ironic that he used it during the League section considering the Omega Strikers devs were former League devs.
It's a shame honestly. Loved Omega Strikers but it just couldn't retain players.
Rip Omega strikers
@@maxmbaconit’s very alive
I remember tuning into SFZ vs C9 around the 30 minute mark, thinking I just caught the end of a quick 2-0. What a surprise it ended up being.
Worst of all, this was ODPixels caster debut in such a big tournament along with his idol Purge. This being his first match to cast not at his home and most of all how long it is he had to make the game entertaining enough......
I think in the end, it helped ODPixel's career.
@@FarazMazhar i guess youre right, people loved his casting and his organic passion for dota after that
this game shot his fame to stardom
AOE2 players are just build diff
This reminded me of when I had enough time to spare as a kid to do GT4 endurance challenges, one just took me more than 4 hours to finish and I was "dead" after that long, and it wasn't the biggest race in the game. I can't imagine a pro match lasting that long..
How'd the AoE players time their rests? I reckon 4 days must've taken a toll on them. I can't even play competitively for more than 3 hours straight.
That's just inhumanly cool! Props for the both of them
after the first day or so, it’s not like you’d have to actually engage with the game, just monitoring and reacting if the opponent does something, so probably less mentally taxing than what playing video games normally entails
@@jimiyu. Yeah, just sitting with AoE 2 open on a second monitor while they do other stuff
These players, after disconect actually fuckin' RESTORED the game.
Late game stalemate at Low armies require very little micro now. Because of all the defensive walls or castle. They can sleep just fine. The problem was when they should feel safe sleeping
It was so funny that a friend of mine that knows I play AoE sent me an article about that Rubenstock game one day after I had played with him.
What a legend, saw that AoE2 game in other channel and it's just amazing. They're truly men of focus, commitment and sheer will xD
"most Starcraft games last 20 minutes"
Not when I play.
:c
🥲
Cannon rush, fren. 8 mins tops.
I think the Ave. Time is 12minutes now. 20minute is too long nowadays pure late game
In a recent competitive Gigantic event, one set took 5 hours
It was a bo3. A normal match of Gigantic takes 15-25 minutes. 3 matches were played, each taking an hour and a half or longer because both teams refused to go for wounds and every rampage was at full shield.
Oh shit, i got some emails from The beta not long ago from that game, fun times
Well this video is talking about the length of one match instead of a set haha.. but that is seriously long nonetheless
I was tripping balls when I read Gigantic. I didnt know they re-released haha, sad is 20$
Really? Is there a link to the set?
u know league is trash when the kill score is only 15-8 in 93minutes
how? is kills the only thing that matters in league? a mmo rts?
@@hellNo116then what is ? farming? you'd rather watch 90 mins of pure jungling than fucking clashes?
@@unclefudge4206 Fr bro, i feel bad for the audiences who watched the players farming almost for the whole fucking game. 😂😂😂😂
@@hellNo116 MMO RTS? The hell. Tell me you have no clue about Moba's (hate the term honestly, but still), without telling me you have no clue about Moba's. 15:8 at 93 minutes means there are massive, boring downtimes of endless lane and jungle farming. Look at the DotA example here, 36:29 at 53 minutes, 109:66 at 200 min.
This is brilliant. Suggestion: make a video of the most kills in shortest time across the same games featured in this video. For example: WorldEdit's world record 37 frags in ~18 rounds vs Echo Fox. I remember the casters going "I'm not even going to get excited unless they kill WorldEdit".
As a dota player seeing a 94 minute LOL game with only 24 kills is wild to me. That can't be enjoyable to watch
I HEAR THE OMEGA STRIKERS SOUNDTRACK IN THE BACK (this alone has earned my sub)
hilarious video, great stuff
those particle glitches in the dota 2 game happened as a result of some sort of memory leak or overflow, triggered from how those specific heroes in that game had a lot of spells that generated particle graphics. i doubt anyone had seen that glitch before that game, because matches were never meant to last that long, and even if they last long, its no guarantee the right heroes are picked for the particle bug to occur. This glitch really enhances the aesthetics and legend of that one match
Excellent video as usual! Also, I see you snuck in some Omega Strikers music! 😉
3:00 i was happy that i was hearing Omega strikers OST game music it felt so good for the missed opportune game
if rubbenstock vs andre isn't here you missed a big opportunity
If you watched till the end, you would realise it was the grand finale of the video
love the Omega Strikers music in the background.
Loved this vid, more pls!
The only gripe that I have is that the league one is kinda wrong seeing as we had a series that went 8 hours, earlier this year
Thank you for making awesome content brother, subscribed to you just now.
The last game took the term Real Time Strategy to a whole new level
i remember that dota 2 200 minutes game holy.
In case your wondering the music from the leauge of legends section is from Omega Strikers, man I wish that game didn't die.
3:18 being omega strikers OST, woah chills
I love the background omega strikers music
“The commentators were the first to go” killed me lmao
Ornn was one of my favorites in league when he came out, so I remembered how his old passive worked. A 70 minute game where one of them doesn't have the Ornn upgrade made me as mad as those announcers were.
Thanks for the vid
"For myself" famous last word.
Imagine being the dude who lost your team a three hour game
great video :)
The way just 10 characters in dota 2 but 3 hours compare to the rts game is crazy
Never thought I’d be hearing that opening background music anywhere other than College Gameday 😂
it's only fitting that it's eternalenvy's C9 that had the longest dota 2 game AND lost against a t2 team
C9 also involved in the shortest game in The International vs team DK
they lost that game
4 days for tournament, what a dedication they had.
I was there when C9 VS SFZ happened. There were many reasons for the long game.
EternalEnvy's C9 was quite bad at finishing a winning match. C9 had another game again VP before that which last more than 2 hours.
The meta of that time was picking sniper. He was really good at holding high ground.
You can hear the voice of the dota caster straining.
The DDos era of LCK 2024 should get an honorable mention. I feel so bad for the people that had to sit for hours
94 min is wilddd , leauge be wild.
great vid
I mean, these are impressive and all, but I once waited for 12-14 hours for a game of Warcraft 3 to start. From around midnight to 13.
I just quite literally didn't feel like going to bed that night and decided the best use of my time was to sit and chat with other people with similar problem until people started getting on again the next day. The game itself only lasted about 20 minutes.
Nice Omega Strikers soundtrack
Small Correction
5:19 it's Heart of Tarrasque, with an S.
It's silent 's'. Like "tesserasque", it's pronounced without sounding the 's'.
One of the guys on that aoe game went date during that ranked game
Ignored the Overwatch League toilet bowl smh.
Dota 2 casters derserve a raise after this
that might be the best call i have ever heard in esports at 7:00 😭😭😭😭
I saw the title and immediately said "starcraft 2 is in here, isn't it" lmao
Omega strikers music hell yeah
hell yea
Katana Zero Music, god damn; that hits hard
3 hours is the reasonabley long match in a popular game
No mention of the OWL match that was paused for several hours due to what started with a seeming hardware glitch and cascading into a long series of technical problems trying to resume the match?
yeah it was Dallas fuel vs Guangzhou charge
2 funny things in that dota2 video. 1 ) The game was still on source 1 engine, a buggy POS, many games if they were longer than 90 mins started bugging. 2) OD Pixel was on his debug there, he got famous for that game, where he got 2 titles - rapgod and -hypegod.
should add the fact that the match 3 for the dota match only last 20 ish minute xd
Reminds me of a Halo Wars I played that was 3v3 I think we started it at like 10pm and didn't end up finishing until like 5am in the morning and I had to go to school that morning lmfao I remember we only won because I switched from strictly Air units to Infantry units because I had spare resources and that ended up beefing our offensive attack.
I never realised boaster was in that damn match
The JAGW and SKT T1 matches weren't even surprising. Teddy hitting 6 items and brute forcing a win with pure mechanics late game was their core gameplan. It was what they did. And it was amazing.
Funfact: in the longest cs match the player Boaster on excel is now one of the best igl in Valorant.
pushing a game meant to end in 20mins to the limit making it last days is crazy
I clicked on the video thinking it would be about Potato Salad and now my day is ruined 😞
"Пока смотрел игру проголодался и жена принесла перекусить, а до игры я не был женат"
AOE2 casual players: we're pro at ironman gaming.
I would end my life before I played 88 straight rounds on inferno... Holy moly...
Bruh I watched that Dota2 match live, fucking EE and his shenanigans made it take so long lmfao
Fin fact 90mins game happen quite frequent in Dota 2
Dota caster growling or dying holy shit
My boy called himself out for lying about stats respect...
Honestly, the most surprising thing on this list for me is that the League game ended with a score of 16-8. Why the hell do people even watch that?
That's the kind of shit said by people who watch UFC for knock outs, and get sad when the fights on yhe ground.
did i just hear omega strikers music in that video?
blessed game
I mean it's OD Pixel and Purge lmao, Purge is used to talking 3 hrs straight.
my longest dota2 game is 2hr10min its crazy because it only 3k mmr lobby but none of us want to quit. i was playing invoker againts AM and pre rework techies, i cried after that because we’re lost
Man that’s so sad!
Lol sounds like a big wqste of time 😭
doctors and astronauts can do this easily, with no bathroom breaks XD
LoL is the 1% of Dota
league: "70 min game omg this is crazy"
dota: "just kill me now I don't wanna play anymore"
Yoo Katana Zero music less goo.
Ahh yes, the “whose adderall will run out first?” matches
You didn't play the "NINETY FOUR MINUTESSSSSS" yell from the caster at the end of the SKT vs JAG game, nor the fact that earlier in the game one of the casters had joked about the game going to 94 minutes earlier in the game becuase of how long game 1 and 2 had gone, only for it to be the most specific caster curse in League of Legends history lol.
fire thumbnail
Him: Make sure to stay till the end of the video . . . .
Me: *skipped to end*
"we're making sure to cover the longer games first" yeah sure
Advance wars: hold my beer!
u should actually add the series of ESL One Birmingham that just ended recently, the China Close Qualifier Azuray vs G2.IG BO5, where the series ended spanning nearly eight hours in total or 5.5 hours of actual in-game duration. and 2 of that 5 game ended in more than an hour, and the rest 3 games is pretty late game.
The Xnova curse lol. He also played in RNG vs Entity in TI11 on the main stage for more than 2 hours for 1 game. And he did that playing alone on stage while his other teammates were quarantined due to covid. He played next to teddy bears on stage lol.
Welcome back
Imagine a comparison in Civilization VI
Is that the omega striker soundtrack I hear??
what's the name of the background sound on intro?
