- The Young Guns Series is done and dusted for 2024. A host of players from both the Coates Talent League and VFL pressed their claim at an AFL list spot. In this video, I review the best performers for the series and which ones may end up on an AFL list.

Jack Hutchinson would be a perfect Jack Gunston replacement, would be great as a third tall! Think Hawks have more players like Max Hall

From all reports he’s a great midfielder! Averages a goal a game and 25 touches. Definitely a player saints need I’d say, goal kicking mid.

Who should hawks get
Given the injuries to Hawthorn’s defensive stocks this year, they’d definitely be having a look at a key defender. Cooper Trembath probably the best equipped to lock down but he’s a little undersized against huge fwds at 193cm. Most defenders on offer are quite offensive, intercept, high disposal guys like Ben Hopkins and Riak Andrew. I think if hawks just went for best available talent I’d be looking at Tobyn Murray or Oskar Smarrt, both mid fwds that missed the draft and have improved a lot since last year?
