Hey guys! Couple of things, I started making the vid last week, recorded it early week so there's a couple of news items that i didn't address! Pickett has announced his retirement, and Seth Campbell just resigned! Let me know what you think the Tigers should do this off season!
Love your video mate I was hopeful of Jagga Smith and Sid Drapper as the first Richmond pick combo. What are your thoughts on these in place of your first two.
I think Smiths leadership and Sid’s big body to crash stoppages will go a long way. There’s probably 2-3 quality first picks and about 8 you could argue for pick 6 so it’s interesting to see what we do and if we try to pair up the selections for synergy.
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraftthanks again for the video in a moment where the footy world is kicking Richmond in the guts this video made me think it will one day be alright.
Enjoyed that mate. Not that easy to assess how big the rebuild is with all the injuries we’ve had and the lack of consistent selection we’ve been able to have. No mention of Josh Smillie? Sounds like he’d fit into our midfield nicely. (Also, some of your stats are a bit off. Samson Ryan was shown as playing 155 games I think?)
Thanks for your video mate, I think you have made a great analysis of where the list is at and liked your thoughts on how the draft hand might be played out. Just a note on one of the players you didnt have form on, Campbell Grey, who was picked up in the mid-season draft he is a tall forward who can also play back if needed, he has just been given a 12 month extension, so the club feels he has more improvement in him. I think he fared well in about half a dozen games in the 2's before doing his hammy. Think he will be being blooded for a tall forward role next season. Cheers again for your quality insights and info.
@@joelweinber3428 oh Jesus that’ll be a tough video to make 😂 nah, I was hoping to get two of these out per week, but it’s been more like one a week! North will be one of the next though as they’ll be active in the draft!
@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft I'm really looking forward to the North draft analysis. I've been hoping to hear north can split their pick 2. I've said elsewhere that I'll consider it a huge win if north can snag trainor and jonty faull. If north can't split the pick I'm very interested in your thoughts on whether they go best available or pick Armstrong or shanahan or trainor - I.e. whoever north think they want/need most
It wouldn't be crazy for the Tigers to look around for a trade for Hopper. It'll take some courage not to pick him in the side, but that midfield has to get some variety into it.
@@JacquiZC yeah agree! If you could turn back time, you wouldn’t take him obviously! Think the midfield has to be setup with Taranto as centrepiece, then build around.
Really good video and understanding of our list and current situation Don't think I've watched so many draft and trade videos in the previous 10 years as I have in this year alone lol. As Yze said in his final interview that helped him get the job, 'if you live in the past, you die in the present' so I think as sad as it is to see so many premiership heroes retire or leave, it's time we look to the future. If the mooted players want to play elsewhere or their hearts aren't in it for the long haul, it's probably best to move them on and get the best deals we can while their currencies are at their strongest. With recent premiership success, I think most of us tiger fans will be patient so there's no need to bounce back straight away and the club can afford to take a few leaner years rebuilding with youth. As you mentioned in the vid, guys like Prestia, KMac, Broad (and I was hoping Pickett would play on) can help guide the younger players new to the AFL system. We'll have a huge amount of salary cap to play with too so I wouldn't mind if we targeted an experienced key forward if any are on the market and wanting more game opportunities. Kosi, Lefau, Bauer and Ryan have all had a crack this year but I think they would benefit with a key forward taking the heat off them and providing a focal point. Lynch will make a huge difference if he can get fit again but if not, an established deputy would be very useful. Balta has been swung forward to fill the void but I think does his best work in defence. And given the raft of potential departures and games worth of experience, good characters/leaders on the fringe or outers at other clubs, or clubs with players looking to salary cap dump should be looked at too just to help flesh out that middle 20s core of players (guys like Houli and Grigg were great additions at the start of our last major rebuild...) Though if I had to put my biggest wish list item for this offseason, it's a review of our medical department. 2023 was a shocker for us and 2024 somehow was worse. Can't all be down to bad luck, I think something needs fixing or a genuine overhaul.
@@TheAlphaDingo yeah great points! The medical stuff is above me particularly when it comes to ACL’s to 20 year olds, seems like horrendous luck! Player movement is such a big part of the game now so teams who can absorb it will get an edge! Think Freo have been the best example of that while remaining a good side. As you said, lynch being fit is key for 2025, otherwise the fwd line is a bit of a mess! Tigers defence has Vlaustin and Broad who are leaders, midfield has Taranto, Mcintosh, Prestia, fwd line really has no one if Lynch isn’t there! What you need to avoid is going for a ready made fwd that costs high end draft picks.
Excellent video! Thanks for the optimism. I’ve genuinely gone from disappointment at our departures to excitement about our future in the course of your video
Mate, simple whoever is in stays whoever wants out see ya later.Everyone got to be on the same page. Go to the draft the only way and pick a few decent players struggling to get in a sides best 22.
Great video! Absolutely agree with your analysis of the list. Tigers need good ball users, a big forward and another goal kicking option. Would be happy with any of the top end draft talent with the first pick and like your picks of small forward and running half back.
Great video mate. If WestCoast receive a top 10 pick for Barass they could potentially trade that for Baker. Alternatively I think Baker could be traded to WestCoast for a future first?
@@gregmay509 Yeah it’s certainly possible. I just don’t see how west coast and Richmond, in the stages that they’re in, can do a deal where both parties are happy…Richmond really need to get overs for Baker, and west coast can’t afford to pay overs for him. Fremantle can afford to. I feel West Coast will get a top 10-15 pick for Barass, but using it on Baker would be a strange call for where they’re at.
That's way over for Baker. He's out of contract, and while being a good player, he's worth a late first rounder. There's no chance that West Coast trades a future first.
It's a good call! Brisbane only have picks 14, 52 & 68. (1466 points) They need to batch bids for Levi Ashcroft (2250 points Approx. -20% discount) and Sam Marshall (700 points, Approx). That means, they'll be in the business of trading pick 14 (1161) to acquire more points! Richmond could offload Picks 39, 41, 48, 57, 65, (1428) . I think maybe Brisbane would want more points for the upside of pick 14! but...Richmond will be hesitant to offload any pick inside top 30, as the draft is deep and the difference between pick 14 and 30 might not be all that significant.
@@noahoconnor6887 Yep! Definitely, I think they'll want 2-3 mids! They'll take a quality running defender like Travaglia or Oliver. I still think they should grab a small fwd too, so Berry or Alger are my picks! Alger draft range 20-40 imo.
