I made a LOT of mistakes on my first two suits 😅 The first one, I made it WAY too small and since I layered the foam, it didn’t stick together with glue. The muzzle was just one piece of foam that was bent to look like a muzzle. My second head : It is WAYYYYY too big. You would have to have the biggest head in the world to make it fit perfectly. I made the top of the head flat... aaaa...... the muzzle was pretty good, but I ran out of foam to make cheeks. So the base was just really plain and had no shape. I used felt for the nose and mouth lining, and it was really messy. I have not finished any of these suits. And I will NOT finish any of these suits. Soon I’m going to go on a small shopping spree for materials and try to make a suit. So I hope it turns out! And also. Skye, your fursuit tutorials helped me and my mom SO much while making my first suit! Thank you, and you will always be one of my favorite suit makers
I am making a raptor mask fursuit head for the first time and I've been watching a lot of raptor mask tutorials but it said put foam around the actual head or duct tape I don't have duct tape or phone so I have to either get phone from a craft store which they're probably closed or a fabric store I'm just making mine really simple and if you want to see what the design is like the only way to see it is by checking out my UA-cam channel because I don't have any other social media besides UA-cam.
I am a beginner fursuit maker, you are one of my biggest inspirations. If it wasn't for you and several others i wouldn't have known how much i love fursuit making. I can't thank you enough!!
I have another one! Making hard things as your first furrysuit experience. I tried to make a functional wing-skelet. But the GOD DAMN material wasn't good, the idea was dum and everything like this.
I'm a new fur and I hope to be making my own fursuit someday soon. Fortunately for me, my mum does sewing for a living and has a billion (six) sewing machines that I can borrow. She also works at a cheap craft store, and the quality of the faux fur they have in that shop is surprisingly good! Thanks for the vid skye, as it is helping me along my journey! (also I sent this 2 years late- oh well XDD)
this was really helpful to watch before i got my fur! i'm a first time maker, planning to start a amateur fursuit making business if i get good enough. so it was nice to see this before i work on my first personal suit!
I'm about done with my fursuit help I just need the fur to hurry up and ship then i will be done thanks to you. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE. VIDEOS THEY HELPED A TON
I've been looking into making a fursuit, not only for getting to wear one but I love art and think it would be fun to make art that I can literally wear! These were really useful! ❤️
I've prepared years for fursuit making (and plus sewing runs in the family) and this video is really helping a lot more! I plan on making my first fursuit head and paws this summer and your channel is fun and helpful with learning more about materials, time and effort ♡♡♡
Thank you! I have been making a manokit head out of a dino mask... I cant afford one, this is also my first time making a base, or anything, I’m new to the fandom, and a young furry
I'm in the process of making my first suit right now , decided to open up my commissions again to upgrade small things such as my thread etc and take things easy as I want my suit to show my full potential ^w^ ❤ Great video ! I highly appreciate all your advice
I started making my first suit a little more than a year ago, and for some reason I didn’t realize how crucial the sewing part was. Thankfully I had a Nana that knew how to sew, so she showed me some pointers. I got a sewing machine and I’m still working on it. It has taken a while to make my first suit since I’m new to it, but I’m thinking about possibly going into fursuit making! :3
How dare u use the carpet sample fursuit, I just managed to erase that from my brain. Also nice video! I'm very stoked to start my first suit, I'm just saving up very slowly for all the right materials :0
I didn't realize how long it would take to really make one until I started making one. It actually turned out to be a great help to building my patience and perseverance when it comes to hands on projects. It also allowed me to realize that I enjoy hands on projects more than digital projects. It gives me a bit of euphoria and motivation to continue with the digital arts such as videography, photography and drawing that I also enjoy doing along side. Basically, just do a lot of research into fursuits and fursuit making, then jump into it and learn as you go. And don't get discouraged if your first suit turns out rough or bad because you can just do better on your next one and learn from your mistakes. Or at least that's what I did and I don't regret it. :)
This is super helpful! I’m planning on making my first suit over the summer, and I already knew most of this, but I’m sure it’ll help a ton of people even more!
I am currently working on my fifth fursuit, and I want it to be as good as possible, so I'm watching all the videos I can! I have improved with each suit but I really want to make this one the one that I feel proud enough to wear around. It's my goal to do commissions one day! Thank you for this advice!
I can definitely agree eoth the "watch out for shipping costs. Since I'm not American, shipping costs were almost $100+ for one meter of fur. Instead, i dropped by my local fabric store and got some nice hq fur during a 60% off storewide sale.
When I first making my first suit, I didn’t have the money to get a turkey cutter and I had trouble cutting through 3 inch foam with a box cutter and I was In a rush and didn’t have the time to smooth out the base. When I got older I manage to get the best and upgraded equipments
dear young furs such as me, literaly listen to skye, learn to sew, oml its helped me soo much not just with making fur suit parts as it can benifit alot more than that. Example: you are running in the park with your friends and you trip and you get a hole in one of you pieces of clothing that you love so much, its only a small hole thats easily sewed up, but, you dont know how to sew. You carry on your day but the hole gets bigger and bigger to the point where you have to throw away that one bit of clothing that may have been very special to you because say your grandma that passed away bought it for you. See how if you just learned to sew that tiny hole you wouldnt have to throw it away
I'm working on my first fursuit! I think I have found the gold channel to search for tutorials :D Thank you for making this video! (After watching this video, I sure am glad that I joined a sewing club for 3 years and learned how to sew lol)
My first fursuit was just a punch of fur pieces glued on to my base.. I didnt get the duck tape method at all. Now furring the fursuit is my favourite part bc now i have a sewing machine. I can still handsew stuff too. Thats what i did with my other suit.
I myself am beginner furry and I have purchased my first partial suit and currently in the works of making new suit for a new sona of mine. This video helps alot and I have going at it nice and slow. So far turning out good and after watching this the only mistake I've made this far is my impatience. It got me into a bind when I was sewing and I had to re-sew my entire neck and cowl.
For dinomask makers! Take your time on the paint, if you take time to smooth your lines and find things to make perfect patterns in will surely become the eye candy that you deserve. If you are replacing the strap on the back: PLEASE DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE YOUR MEASUREMENTS!! I had to re-glue my straps about 4 times before it actually settled perfectly on my head.
Taking a sewing and tailoring class is a very good idea if you want to make fursuits! You don't have to /just/ know how to sew, you also have to do it efficiently to save up materials/time/wrist pain
I’m working on my first non dinomask fursuit and this helps a lot! Ive been saving up for hq howl fabric furs and I’m hoping to order it soon! I gotta say I’m REALLY proud of my head base so far but it still has a lot of work to be done, and as a 13 yr old Aussie, getting these materials is HARD and expensive, you’ve really helped me out with your vid’s skye :D
4:39 Oh God... I had forgotten about Carpet Sample... Aside from the Vietnam flashbacks, great video! Love the tips since I am hoping to make my own one day, but want to make sure I'm fully prepared beforehand.
One thing that helps me look at all your photos and research before you start instead of when your halfway through because when you see other people’s fuirsuit heads makes you feel bad about your own
I'm an older but new-to-actively-participating-in-fandom fur planning to make their own suit and man it's daunting. I'm lucky to have already come from a sewing background, but the general crafting aspect is going to be trying. The research is *very* important, I concur. I sat on the idea of making one for a couple years, all the while soaking in all the material I could, and I still feel a bit scared. I assume it's one of those things that gets easier once you actually get going. But tutorials like yours have been extremely helpful! :D
I have started out by making hand sewn tongues for fursuits. I also make noses, and paw beans. My friends commission me for raptor masks as well which is very fun for me :D I get to make a lovely character named Mischief that is a Mochi raptor.
You say that yet I think I've spent over $1,000 on all my equipment so far. My dad spent $740 for me on a sewing machine and my mom spent an extra $200 for me on this pair of Oster clippers that I asked if she would buy for me and she said sure. Technically I owe my dad at least half the amount of money for this sewing machine and I'm fine with that but that's another story. I'm trying my hardest to become a fursuit maker and as you even know this is stupid hard to get into. And it's a lot of time consuming I've probably wasted a lot of fabric already that I personally bought myself. I honestly love Joanne's. I have three different furs and I'm trying my hardest not to waste any of it. I have black white and this husky mix looking for where it's like brown and gray and black. I've got a lot of minky too red black brown and white. The amount of stuff I've put into this is ridiculous. But I'm trying to follow your tutorials and they are not easy. I've gone into working on paws and I feel likeI should not be starting here maybe I should have started on tails or something. I think that'll be my next project once I figure out how to get some paws down. I have a general idea of what I'm doing but I'm really afraid that I'm going to screw up the fabric which is why I got some cheapo $2 a yard fabric to test my machine on and see what I can do to make and I even made some covid 19 masks which they came out okay but not as good as I wanted them to
@@SkyehighStudios yeah but how much fur have you gone through? how many tons have you thrown away a set of paws that were just crap? Also I forget did hand sew your paws or did you actually machines so all the way through the fingers?
@@SkyehighStudios I learned real quick that this is one of those kind of things where if you're constantly doing it and you never put it down you're going to hate yourself for it so it's like take a break from it if it's frustrating you like crazy.
Exactly why I gave up, I spent 100s and had to give up so it was all for nothing but I dont have the cash to keep trying and I'm got no patience, worst part..I've been poor the whole time and sacrificed food for this and then gave up...
Im a young fur and i have done my dinomask head, tail and paws but my next plan is to make a manokit head I’ve spent days on tutorials and just regular videos to see the form and techniques. I’m currently saving up to buy the furr because the the shipping cost here is almost as expensive as the fur im buying.my last suit took me about 3-4 months with a 3 week pause. I’m really excited about the process i really enjoy that part and im going to a Maschine sewing course to learn how to use it
Hello! I am a young fur and I'm currently making my first fursuit for my first convention!!! I have made many errors and may continue to make them. I don't have a sewing machine so I sadly have to hot glue everything. I also don't have access to the right foam. It's going not-so-well so far but I'm trying not to give up! This video helped me a lot as well!
I’m currently working on my first fursuit, and I’m making it a full digi suit. I feel like I may be biting off more than I can chew so early on, but I’m determined at this point. It’s a pretty simple design to start, just so I can get used to the basics of everything. I’m really excited to see it all come together once I’ve furred it!
Rn am learning how to make eyes, carving shapes, how to budget. And I still want to make a fursuit head until next next summer break! Don’t rush things it doesn’t give you an amazing fursuit head
For those that WANT a fursuit and WANT IT NOW, I’d recommend spending time saving up money to buy a premade (you can find some surprisingly cheap ones if youre open to buying secondhand- I recommend checking the dealers den, as its less likely to have scams) rather than spending a ton of time and effort saving money for materials, learning to sew and carve foam and clip fur and pattern and all that, and then having to patiently and meticulously create it. For me, I’m a really impatient person, and though I’m trying my best to learn to sew so I can make plushies (help), I know I’m wayy too impatient and have too low of an attention span to make a fursuit. I could mayyybe pull off a head, but thats about it lol.
I'm a new fur, but I'm also a perfectionist. As much as I really want to make my own partial, I want to learn as much as I can, first. Not to mention I'm young! Still in highschool, can't really have a job due to health issues, stuff like that. I love crafting, sewing and all kinds of art, though, which makes it so much easier for me to understand this kind of stuff. As excited as I am to try to bring my fursona to life, I want to research and learn and invest before anything else. I recently ordered some swatches from Howl to see if I like the furs. If I do, I'll save up to get them! In the meantime, I'm happy to learn more ^^
I got my grandma to help me sew it because I didn’t have a sewing machine and with just one person I’d be here for a lot longer as I’m not great at sewing. overall the fur suit took about three weeks and I’m very proud for my first time. It doesn’t have to be perfect it’s good enough and It turned out better than I expected.
I'm making a suit soon! I looked at a ton of tutorials, realized I needed to use plastic instead of foam for the eyes, and sew the fur. I am going to buy an expanding foam base, just because I feel like I couldn’t make a foam head good. I am a young fur and totally think everyone beginning to make fursuits should watch as many tutorials as possible, and maybe follow a pattern or buy a base.
When preparing to make a fursuit consider practice with smaller projects with transferable skills. Before I made my first suit I made a couple of long furbies to get my confidence and fur sewing skills up.
I bought some of my stuff from amazon, now before anyone judges I have a pretty good reason, I found great almost ZERO one star reviews on this stuff and it wasn't ungodly priced and the last of it is coming next week. I have some super thin foam for the eyes and smal details then I have bigger foam
im a young(ish im not a kid but a teen) fur and i want a fursuit but i also wanted to make it and find the making part really fun! ive been working on my second suit for quite a while now and am almost done it!!!
I’m a younger fur and I am still yet doing tons of research on just a head! I still need to save up loads of cash but I am still watching so many tutorials
i was getting very stressed about costs and this video saved my life, i was looking at websites that sold fur for 40 dollars a yard and the stuff on bigzfabric sells for 20 youre a godsent
I've always wanted to learn to tailor, even if I don't have much patience. Before I was into getting a fursuit, I just wanted to tailor my own clothing for pets, stuffed animals, and sometimes my own accessories, but now I also have another reason to tailor... making my own suit since my mother doesn't want to partake in the purchase of even just a head or just paws.
Interesting! I have a snail fursona and I’m terrified of a fursuit maker getting something wrong and so I’m planning to make it into a fursuit myself someday! ❤
Im 12 years old, and I own 6 suits, AND HIGHLY recommend getting just a cheap sewing machine! It is moons better than hot glue! Guys this is coming from a 12 year old! please use needles and thread, trust me it will work better in the long run
I'm a suit maker who can't afford luxury fur but that doesn't stop me from making good quality suits! (I hope they're good at least haha) I use minky style blankets and try to design characters that will work with such a short pile fabric. Honestly I really recommend blankets for first time makers who already have some sewing experience !! :D
random tip! neffertity posted this on her tiktok- she says that good source of cheap but good quality fur is one of those area rugs from walmart. (or whatever store you have locally) it has a strong backing and if i remember from her video it comes in a variety of colours. happy making fellow commenters! edit : i wanna post a second comment but i figured i'd just add onto this one instead lol. my first suit (which never got furred, er.. fleeced in my case) looked like a deformed rat. it was wayy too blocky + my snoot was the empire state building of snoots. basically, it was crap. but i think my next could be better; i learned a LOT from Delilah 1.0
@@SkyehighStudios I know right! I was thinking of using a fluffy rug I saw at spotlight- you know those white ones? But it was like 65 dollars so I decided to head to the foam and materials section. I got the foam (it was 40 dollars, r.i.p my wallet) and fur (which was I think 20 dollars for a metre) but I regret the fur choice, because it’s jet black so you can’t see any details in the suit which made me sad :( Sorry for rambling on- I do that a lot haha
I am a rather young fur, but I already have 3 hand-made suits and am working on another. The prices usually get close to 300 dollars, but it's worth it to have good quality. I'm also planning on starting to do commissions, which would give me WAAAAYYYY more money back.
I just started making my first fursuit, and ive spent a whole day and a half working on the base. I can be a bit of a perfectioinist so in a kind of good way i have to make it as perfect as i can
Here's how my first suit is going: I got the base off on Kamen Hamster! I cut off the ears and nostrils. And right now I'm making new ears, making eyelids (Im making a grumpy suit) and picking my fur! I spent around $110 so far! I'm excited to see my suit come to life!
I'm doing a whole youtube playlist for sewing itself. I am horrible at sewing and my mom doesn't want to hand sew and we got rid of our sewing machines a year ago ;-; so I'm doing lots of research for my first fursuit
My first suit was trash. But now I'm on my 8th suit which looks amazing! I did my research and paper designs for about a year. But I just wanted it so soon that it was crap. Now I'm doing a Doberman.im using luxury shag, a sewing machine, goooood hot glue gun, and good foam. My base is very SMOOTH and I'm glad I watched this anyway
I’m (kind of) new to making fursuits and for my first one I made the following mistakes: I did not use the crown method when making the bucket head I rushed my base because I REALLY wanted to work with the fur as soon as possible I didn’t use duct tape for the patterns, i didn’t use a pattern at all I just cut out random pieces of fabric and GLUED it on I DIDNT SEW A SINGLE PIECE, I ONLY USED HOT GLUE SMHHHHHHH I didn’t save up for fur, I just bought the cheapest thing I could find on Amazon. Hopefully in the future I will not make these mistakes again
This will help me so much thank you! I’m only 12 and me and my friends want to make fursuits so I will send them this video because I think this will help all of us out very much! btw I love your fursuit
Do you have a tik tok ? I’m also a younger suit maker ( I’m 14 ) and I love to see other young fursuit makers suits , my tik tok is @stinky_gremlin (don’t mind the name 🤣)
I have bine researching for a while on Dutch angel dragons I saved up enough money and bought some nice fur from big z fabric and I got a head base from one of my fav Etsy shops! Skyehigh Studios See The thing is I’m making my first suit but like I have help because I am more in to the drawing and that stuff than the crafting
Ikr
I don’t know how really ;-;
I can sew but ITS TERRIBLE I HAD TO TAKE APART A WHOLE SUIT, AND REMAKE IT UASISUHIUHAUOHAKHUS
Foam is $15 dollars at Walmart :0
You can just get some from amazon, it’s pretty cheap!
How was this comment 2 hours ago- also foam is about 15$ at Walmart
I got my upholstery foam at Walmart
That's why I have 10 foam pillows at home
I am a beginner fursuit maker, you are one of my biggest inspirations. If it wasn't for you and several others i wouldn't have known how much i love fursuit making. I can't thank you enough!!
💙💙💙
Me, having done all the research on everything and learning to sew: :D
Me, who has no motivation: D:
I have another one! Making hard things as your first furrysuit experience. I tried to make a functional wing-skelet. But the GOD DAMN material wasn't good, the idea was dum and everything like this.
I did articulated wings once xD before I started making fursuits
@@SkyehighStudios cool!
Can I see your suit so far?
I'm about done with my fursuit help I just need the fur to hurry up and ship then i will be done thanks to you. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE. VIDEOS THEY HELPED A TON
Covid has really screwed over shipping times hey xD
Im making a dutch angel dragon and the first try was an absolute mess
Thats why I'll never make one 😂
Dutchies can be pretty challenging!
@@SkyehighStudios my first try was a wolf
oof
@@spmfoonl I wish you luck
I've been looking into making a fursuit, not only for getting to wear one but I love art and think it would be fun to make art that I can literally wear! These were really useful! ❤️
They are definitely wearable works of art!
I've prepared years for fursuit making (and plus sewing runs in the family) and this video is really helping a lot more! I plan on making my first fursuit head and paws this summer and your channel is fun and helpful with learning more about materials, time and effort ♡♡♡
Sewing to me is kinda soothing. Back and forth motions while listening to music, ugh its so magical to me.
Thank you! I have been making a manokit head out of a dino mask... I cant afford one, this is also my first time making a base, or anything, I’m new to the fandom, and a young furry
Good luck with your fursuit!
That sounds super cool!!!
oh my god the fact that you used the carpet sample suit as a bad example LMAO--- perfect
I'm in the process of making my first suit right now , decided to open up my commissions again to upgrade small things such as my thread etc and take things easy as I want my suit to show my full potential ^w^ ❤
Great video ! I highly appreciate all your advice
Good luck with your commissions! I’m sure you’ll rock it!
@@SkyehighStudios thank you !
I mean it was the best bet to not offend anyone xD
@@SkyehighStudios you did great lmao
lets give some appreciation to this lady for spending so much of her time to make other people happy.
I’m rewatching this for about the 4th time and it’s still helping. Everyone needs a remember now and then
This is super helpful! I’m planning on making my first suit over the summer, and I already knew most of this, but I’m sure it’ll help a ton of people even more!
I hope so, thank you!
I am starting my first fursuit as a new furry and am so lost but this vid is rlly helpful tysm.
I am currently working on my fifth fursuit, and I want it to be as good as possible, so I'm watching all the videos I can! I have improved with each suit but I really want to make this one the one that I feel proud enough to wear around. It's my goal to do commissions one day! Thank you for this advice!
this helped me a lot, i saw almost everything in how my suits were turning out. now i am thinking on how i can take more time for making suits
Good luck!’ ^.^
I can definitely agree eoth the "watch out for shipping costs. Since I'm not American, shipping costs were almost $100+ for one meter of fur. Instead, i dropped by my local fabric store and got some nice hq fur during a 60% off storewide sale.
I'm making a big dragon puppet with a moving jaw! LEDs etc.
And the head is legit just like a dragon fursuits head. So good luck guys!
When I first making my first suit, I didn’t have the money to get a turkey cutter and I had trouble cutting through 3 inch foam with a box cutter and I was In a rush and didn’t have the time to smooth out the base. When I got older I manage to get the best and upgraded equipments
Thank you for making my day better!
💙💙💙
dear young furs such as me, literaly listen to skye, learn to sew, oml its helped me soo much not just with making fur suit parts as it can benifit alot more than that.
My first suit was using your tutorials and the suit was real good by first suit standards 💕
I need to take classes tbh xD
I’m working on my first non dinomask fursuit and this helps a lot! Ive been saving up for hq howl fabric furs and I’m hoping to order it soon! I gotta say I’m REALLY proud of my head base so far but it still has a lot of work to be done, and as a 13 yr old Aussie, getting these materials is HARD and expensive, you’ve really helped me out with your vid’s skye :D
4:39
Oh God... I had forgotten about Carpet Sample...
Aside from the Vietnam flashbacks, great video! Love the tips since I am hoping to make my own one day, but want to make sure I'm fully prepared beforehand.
One thing that helps me look at all your photos and research before you start instead of when your halfway through because when you see other people’s fuirsuit heads makes you feel bad about your own
Love how when skye moves her head down the it looks like she’s begging you not to make these mistakes. I hope I can make follow me eyes that well!
My friends commission me for raptor masks as well which is very fun for me :D
I get to make a lovely character named Mischief that is a Mochi raptor.
Im so glad ive been learning how to sew for 4+ years because i feel like thats gonna help me alot when i make my first fursuit
I have a general idea of what I'm doing but I'm really afraid that I'm going to screw up the fabric which is why I got some cheapo $2 a yard fabric to test my machine on and see what I can do to make and I even made some covid 19 masks which they came out okay but not as good as I wanted them to
Practice makes perfect! And having good equipment is always great!
@@SkyehighStudios yeah but how much fur have you gone through? how many tons have you thrown away a set of paws that were just crap? Also I forget did hand sew your paws or did you actually machines so all the way through the fingers?
Too many to count, my first 5-10 pairs of Handpaws made me openly weep in frustration. Persistence is key!
This video helped me a lot as well!
whenever im doing school work i love to listen to ur tips and tricks on fursuit making or other things thx so much! keep up the great work :)
I have made all these mistakes expect for the sewing I always sew but on my first head, I did both just to compare
It’s always good to improve!
I’m currently working on my first fursuit, and I’m making it a full digi suit. I feel like I may be biting off more than I can chew so early on, but I’m determined at this point. It’s a pretty simple design to start, just so I can get used to the basics of everything. I’m really excited to see it all come together once I’ve furred it!

...the background behind that image haunts my dreams....
I knew exactly what you were talking about before I even saw the image
Wait is it more than just the carpet sample fursuit guy?

Thank you! I’m gathering my supplies for my first fur suit, so this will help me have a good first suit!!
Thank you for making this video! Im making my first fursuit head and I need all the advice and help I can get.
You’re welcome! 💙
I'm not making a head for a couple of months but making paws and a tail soon its always good to hear tips first!
I kind of like that first example you keep showing of how you don't want a suit to turn out.
But, I also make monster movies.
I totally don’t have a notebook dedicated to your “learn how to be a Fursuit maker” series
It took me a year to save up and I’m just NOW starting! It’s worth it
Im 12 years old, and I own 6 suits, AND HIGHLY recommend getting just a cheap sewing machine! It is moons better than hot glue! Guys this is coming from a 12 year old! please use needles and thread, trust me it will work better in the long run
WOAH! 12 AND YOU OWN 6 SUITS?! that's awesome!! im 14 and still working on my first fursuit head! :0
Rugs cost like 80 dollars here in Australia xD
@@SkyehighStudios I know right! I was thinking of using a fluffy rug I saw at spotlight- you know those white ones? But it was like 65 dollars so I decided to head to the foam and materials section. I got the foam (it was 40 dollars, r.i.p my wallet) and fur (which was I think 20 dollars for a metre) but I regret the fur choice, because it’s jet black so you can’t see any details in the suit which made me sad :(
Sorry for rambling on- I do that a lot haha
I am a rather young fur, but I already have 3 hand-made suits and am working on another. The prices usually get close to 300 dollars, but it's worth it to have good quality. I'm also planning on starting to do commissions, which would give me WAAAAYYYY more money back.
Soon (in probably 2 months)
I’m gonna make my first fursuit partial and this really helped thanks!!
I remember making paper heads and cutting slits on cups and getting the cotten balls and taping it all together.... good times...
I just started making my first fursuit, and ive spent a whole day and a half working on the base. I can be a bit of a perfectioinist so in a kind of good way i have to make it as perfect as i can
Here's how my first suit is going:
I got the base off on Kamen Hamster!

I've started making my first suit awhile ago, so far my skull dog is doing pretty good.
Hell yeah!! Great work!
I’m (kind of) new to making fursuits and for my first one I made the following mistakes:
I did not use the crown method when making the bucket head
I rushed my base because I REALLY wanted to work with the fur as soon as possible
I didn’t use duct tape for the patterns, i didn’t use a pattern at all I just cut out random pieces of fabric and GLUED it on
I DIDNT SEW A SINGLE PIECE, I ONLY USED HOT GLUE SMHHHHHHH
I didn’t save up for fur, I just bought the cheapest thing I could find on Amazon.
Hopefully in the future I will not make these mistakes again
I was sick one day and that entire day I watched tutorials and researched all day some how
This is great to know now that I'm making my second suit! I'll definitely remember what I learned from this video!
Absolutely! It all comes with practice and research :3
Yeah! ^^
I've been planning on making a protogen head, and I'm glad with the recourses available!
...now I just need the money lol.
This will help me so much thank you! I’m only 12 and me and my friends want to make fursuits so I will send them this video because I think this will help all of us out very much! btw I love your fursuit
