I know it's still a long ways off but when you do eventually change time periods can you dedicate a short video to reviewing all of the city before the switch?
As a surveyor I have to say that there aren't enoght thorny bushes and shrubs around the rail. I hate to do my job at railways, because at least here in Germany they are always surrounded by rosehip and other stupidly thorny plants that will rip your clothes apart.
The train station looks amazing! The city Kassel in Germany as a terminus train station, but they build a modern through station a bit away from it. That could be a good inspiration for a future project!
I'd love to see a small 'branching' line go roughly N-NE when viewing the station from the side (and rail comes out of the right)... It would serve nicely to give it the terminus station feel, and could be further used as a prop of exporting goods - say to a local factory of some descript, or town.... Plus I think it would look bomb if you run it alongside an oldtown wall, giving the impression that the rail was built after building the wall.
Looking forward to part 2 of you building this train station, I want to see how you will finish it. Trying imagine what function it will have served in the city,. You said "postal", but I want to imagine what else for the story I'm writing set in Altengrad.
I think you should have a Soviet era beginning in like the 50s or 60s and going until around the late 80s, because those "ugly" standard buildings and that would make sense geographicly. What do you think?
so beautiful, i actually started my own 'manually placed euro town' but then i realised i did what you told in the first episode would be unpractical - i put an entire old town on the top of the hill, i had a defensive ideas in my mind. Since i realised it i got pretty discouraged to continue it, plus my 8GBs of RAM is quite low for similar project
I think using conifer trees in altengrad (which is supposedly an center European city) isnt really that convincing in the city center, as they planted more leafy trees, also the flowers are too bright and random, anyway love your series
Akruas nemohl by si udělat v altegradu letiště protože v té době kdy se pohybuješ by to nevadilo nebo přehradu aby město mělo přístup k elektřině nebo univerzitu
They had to be props, there are two props for steam locomotives (one doesn't have a matching coal car) and exactly one prop for historical passenger car in the Workshop unfortunately. I use different "live" vehicles though, hopefuly European.
WW2 german high command office in altengrad which would be destroyed by allied bombing? I would love to see that, hopefully the bombers Will not drop their bombs off target and destroy the city😭
Will the old city be surrounded by a ring of decaying Brutalist tower blocks, with the occasional incursion further in at odds with the surrounding buildings? Maybe a new, totally oversized and quietly decaying terminal on the other side of town as well. Or a remarkably ugly bus terminal plonked right in from of this terminus.
I was more concerned about the absence of any signalling infrastructure- locomotive and carriage yards could be located elsewhere- but drivers will still need signals to maintain order
I think it would be really cool if the world fair came to Altengrad, and there would be a world expo, with pavilions from different countries.

I've been missing out. I normally watch Biffa or City planner plays but this is a whole other level.
You are incredible!

you should do some sort of old 17th- 18th century Cannon Fort along the river somewhere.
яush B 1800s - 1900s

Nice that you designed your own station!
Please can you do a birds eye view and show us the different areas of the old city from above. Keep up the great work!!

yeah, my 32GBs are already running out with this city
I want this city to be real.
10:55 the train station in my city is surrounded by either a single distillery or multiple distilleries
I admire your work.

Ohh nice
Great video
Is there any method or asset to create those large oldschool European arched canopy rooftops of trainstations?
Cool video
Do you have the link to the terminal double track platform? i can't find it on the workshop :(
What is the platforms name on workshop
Good Job. Are you using some mod that there is inaf goodss to sell?
Поздрав од Мекедонија!!! ❣

Terminus ... no sanctuary
wow! where can i get all the different tracks for the railways?
right here steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1569088356
Very good. 👍
Not to nitpick, but the steam locomtive and coaches are American....There’s a few German ones out there though...

Ah. That makes more sense now. Well, keep up the good work! I can’t wait to see where this series will go!
Will late grad experience ww1 plus ww2?
It's a bit late for WW1
WW1 didnt cause much destruction in central europe
WW2 german high command office in altengrad which would be destroyed by allied bombing? I would love to see that, hopefully the bombers Will not drop their bombs off target and destroy the city😭
It is already post WW1. We're in the Twenties
@@arthemis1039 the first word in my story is WW2
Does this station actually work?
no
not yet, the tracks don't go anywhere, but later I'll make it work, the platforms alone should work as train stops
@@Akruas Will the Cargo lines function too? I hope you can make a cargo train stop there. Looks amazing, keep up the great work!

Why is there no engine yard near the station?
because it's not finished

Many building are from Prague... Simply rename the series Altengrad -> Prague xd
Olá, sou do Brasil 🇧🇷✌️
cccccoooooooooolllllllllllll😊
Hi! Can you make Altengrad sunnier?
What about gas stations?
Ww2 bunker? Plz
nobody can park their car if they work at the station, when they want to ride on the train of pick anyone up/set down?
It's 1920s, people working in a train station don't have cars, just like people riding trains
