WHY don't they have a LOVE Button. (My husband and I are hardcore Pokemon Go players since 2016, This is a definite one I will make! :) Thank you for being so generous with your talent and ideas! I lurk a lot and make a few T-shirts. I did my first tie dye with a tulip kit in March. I quickly discovered that the kit was the expensive way to go and make my own soda ash now and then! Thank you thank you!
What kind of bottle & stem (mm size) do you use for your thick water & thick black dye? Your videos are very instructive. I love watching them. I have tried a few of them but I am afraid most will not turn out nearly as awesome as yours do, so usually I simply watch your videos and marvel at your wonderful teaching ability.
I use these bottles ..... www.dharmatrading.com/tools/gutta-applicator-bottles-with-metal-tips.html they sell 3 different size tips, for the thick black dye I use a #7 ...... and thank you, I love what I do and it has been great fun to share with the World .... and you may not be able to do the complex designs right now, but if you start with some of the simpler ones and practice practice practice... then you can step up in difficulty.... everyone starts someplace, I just happen to start 18 years ago ... thanks again
you are welcome .... and stepping outside of my comfort zone is how I learned so much with this medium... I opened myself up to doing custom orders so I was always getting a request that I had to figure out... anyways, I say go for it!!! ..... I am sure you will amaze yourself and your grandson will love his new tee
i want to see the finished geode design ice dye the one where you iced two shirts at once. i may have missed it, is there a part two? tks for your tutorials
When I first started doing videos, I could only upload short ones, and I was still learning so the results did not make it into the videos unless I did a reveal ... but here is a link to them n my FB ..... facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10215074792483531&l=e34db6cd8a facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10215074791563508&l=04e27c1cef Now I do all in one videos with tying and dyeing in same video, and I wait until the tee is complete so I can show the results at the end the video
You have some awesome designs, and a ton of talent. Thanks for sharing everything. One question about the rest of the t-shirt outside of the main design. Most of the time you scrunch it, but this time you kept some of the folds for the sunburst effect, and that got me wondering. Would it be feasible to do something else as well, such as a spiral with the design at the center? I imagine for it to work, the design would have to be held perpendicular to the spiral to keep the spiral colors from getting into the design. If you've tried anything like this, how did it turn out?
Thank you!! I have a lot of fun with it and have been at it for 18 years now.... and yes I play around a lot for the outside, but in the videos the scrunch is the easiest to keep the time down a bit.... and yes I have folded a design on the front of the tee, tied it, then I flattened the tee out the best I could with the tied design sticking straight up, then I grabbed the folded design and twisted the tee for a spiral.... when it was all tied up, then I held the tee sideways so I could put dye on the design, then I used a rag to squeeze out the excess dye (so it did not run down into the rest of the tee) and then I dye the rest of the tee like I would a spiral, here is a recent tee I did that way ...... facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10214984525746919&l=40d5101b1b
Very cool. My first order from Dharma should be arriving today, and I'm looking forward to trying some of these techniques. Thanks again for the great videos!
