@@MrTieDye I actually did the paw print and accordion fold back last night. I hope it does well. 24 hours and I will know. I want to do the cross but I'm still learning to fold corners. I get excited and full of joy when opening my tie Dye art too. I get equally as happy seeing your final piece always beautiful and soo detailed. Really excellent work.

Love your videos! Did you know you can make your own soda ash? I make homemade laundry soap using washing soda (aka soda ash). All you have to do is spread regular baking soda on a cookie sheet and bake it at 400 degrees for 30 min. I stir it around after 15 min of baking, then let it go another 15 min. I also get the baking soda from the bulk food section for .59 cents a pound, pretty cheap soda ash.
that is awesome, and yes I have heard of other dyers making their own, I have not tried it yet myself .... but I did find it at the pool supply store so I am not paying for shipping on mine anymore :) Thank you for sharing this info!!

I use cutting boards from the Dollar Store... they are a sturdy plastic and come two in a pack and are 11 x 14 inches before that, I used the cardboard from cereal boxes

yes it is needed with the Fiber Reactive Procion dyes... it raises the p and that is what causes the chemical reaction between the dye and the cotton fiber.... without soda ash, most of the dye will just be washed away
I buy a couple black dye powders from dharma, Better, New and Raven Black, all from dharma, and then I mix the powders together in one big jar and then I use that to make my black dye from .... Also, I use twice as much black dye powder as I do any other color and I batch my items for 48 hours, which helps get a darker black as it takes longer to set up
on this small tee, the paw print itself is about 9 inches tall and wide (but the stencil is for just half of the paw print, so it is only 4.5 inches wide) 😉 and I make larger stencils for tees 2X and up, so it is about 12 inches high and wide ✌🏻 I just try to eyeball the design on the center of the chest to determine size

yes you can... you just need to soak the tee or the part where the paw will go with soda ash and tie it up and dye with a darker color than the tee is .... when I dye an already dyed tee, I will use a separate pail to soak my tee in the soda ash as some of the dyes will come out ad discolor the soda ash... so if I am using a separate pail then I can jut dump out the excess soda ash .... here is a video on doing an over dye on a tee ..... ua-cam.com/video/CPI_23w6JkY/v-deo.html although you do not need to dye the whole tee, you can just add the paw print ;-)
I just search out Free Clip art online, pick one that works and then I trace it and sometime I will make some adjustments .... so I do not have a source to share
I did a search for free clip art paw print to find mine .... I just did it now and found this ..... clipart-library.com/dog-paw-print.html then I pick the one I like and blow it up on my computer screen to the size I need and then trace it onto a cutting mat for the dollar store, you can see it in my stencil video .... ua-cam.com/video/dgBKDwFu3uI/v-deo.html or you can print it out and then tape it to cardboard ( I used cereal boxes before I found the cutting mats) and cut it out I hope this helps... have fun creating

What black dye do you recommend ? Every time I use black it washes out to grey .

How did you mixed it up with Lite Red.
you can use lite red if you want... I just show the design and leave the color options open to you to choose ✌🏻
