    I do run two or three light swipes of candle on the ends of the connection, give it a slight wipe, it assures me that I can take it out together at the end of the day!

    Tony, whats your opinion on using 2pc rods? I know theres the advantage for easier travel, but what about overall rod flex and stregnth compared to a 1pc?
    My preference has aways been 1pc. rods even though transport can be a pain @ times with multiple combos.

    I have a hell of a time with my saltwater rods (Diawa's) sticking together, even a brand new one which is the worst. They are clean, I tried every ice trick in the book. The only thing that works is two people with good hand strength pulling apart, but I need to be able to get apart myself.

      Same happened to me with 5 piece travel rod. Since i use ferule wax, no problems, you can even use candle wax or labello lip butter. Just wipe out after use.

    Hi. Some of my rods have small dots on the male ferrules. After close inspection I found out that paint is off and graphite is seen. Is it bad news or does not worth to pay attention?

    I carry a rubber jar lid gripper to help take the rod pieces apart.

    Recently bought a two piece rod at a good price that was stuck together. Tried ice packs a couple of times and it didnt help. I then heated some water and poured over it for a few seconds and it came apart very easily.

    I've heard cold works. Either a freezer, ice packs or leaving outside several days during the winter.

    I had to use a compressed air can, put it upside down and blast cold air to be able to pull it out.

    How long are this sticks when separated I need to put in my luggage

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  11 місяців тому

      It depends on the full length of the rod you have. If you have a 2-piece travel rod, each piece is approximately half the full full length...so it's probably too long for luggage. We sell the TFO Traveler Spinning Rod and that's a 3-piece. It comes with a 32" carrying case, so that may fit better in luggage. You can find that on our site here: fishstrong.com/products/tfo-traveler-spinning-rod?variant=44000482787502

    Like an old Capt named Flip once told me...rub the lower section on your nose. The natural oils from your skin are just enough to prevent sticking.
