    Hey!! I just gotta mention, Adam; earlier this month I ran across an article somewhere that took the tweet you had made with your fake beard on in your shop and wrote an article essentially claiming that you had really let yourself go since leaving mythbusters, or something like that. I immediately emailed the publisher detailing how they were wrong and that you publish videos very regularly and are an avid cosplayer, not Tom Hanks from castaway. I received no response whatsoever - but the next day or so the site had magically updated, and had proper information and even talked about your UA-cam channel and cosplaying hobby. I was pleased to actually see that they fixed it!

    The person who rang the doorbell, when Adam answered it in his beard, must have thought they had the wrong address. Or maybe not, since Adam has probably answered the door before as a Wookie, astronaut, dinosaur, Totoro, etc. His package carrier must never know who (or what) will come to the door!

      Depending on the carrier you might get the same guy or different every time, but most of the time different. If you have a commercial address, you will likely get the same guy as parcel carriers tend to lump commercial addresses into one route that is designated to a driver.

    The problem with watching Adam build anything is that even if he has never done it before he makes it look like he's done it a million times. Keep it up everyone. Sometimes its just having the confidence to try it.

    • @KairuHakubi
      @KairuHakubi 3 роки тому +2

      that's the irony. what people see is a guy mastering something on his first try when in reality he's had incredible decades of practice at, if not that very task, then related ones
      but it's because no matter how comfortable he is with it, he's still EXCITED like a newcomer, and still scratches his head like an amateur while coming at the problems.

    I kinda had a feeling that was what you were making the beard for, Right Now hand sewing is the only thing I really know how to do. Also Facial Hair Fun Fact: The Pointy Sideburns that you would so often see in Star Trek shows are crepe wool that was carefully color matched with the actor's original hair color and attached with adhesive

    • @willmfrank
      @willmfrank 3 роки тому +1

      Another fun Trek fact: the regular actors grew their own sideburns and had them trimmed into the pointy shape. Mr. Shatner recalled that on one shoot he suddenly realized that he'd forgotten to let his sideburns grow, so the makeup artist cut a mustache in half and spirit-gummed one half to each side.

    • @DelcoRanz93
      @DelcoRanz93 3 роки тому +1

    that looks AMAZING. I've always said yak hair makes the best beards, eyebrows, all of that kinda stuff.
    the fact that it looks so great even without anything else is incredible. The only part that absolutely demands additional spirit gum is the cheeks, and theoretically you could have little stiff parts there that would look convincingly like a beard with deliberately shaved cheeks.
    also never noticed the flesh tone netting before, I guess if you were darker you'd need to have one made with darker thread

    ""I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. It'll fight if it has to, but it's vulnerable out in the open. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won.""

    Hey Adam, i have an idea for a one day build. Im not sure if you have seen the show Altered Carbon on Netflix or not but they have these things called stacks witch are basically a spinal column insert that contains the soul/memories of a person and can be transferred to different bodys if it hasn't been destroyed. I always thought that it would be a cool prop to have. You could even make a couple versons. In the show sometimes they've been freshly removed and still have a couple juicy bloody bits on them or some have been damaged or broken. They pulse and glow in this pleasing way too that would be awesome to see you replicate. Anyway the work you do is always so impressive and inspiring hopefully my idea might inspire a one day build for us all to enjoy and maybe even learn something from. Keep it up and keep those fingers out of that lathe ! I know its forever ago now but lets be honest we're all very thankful you didn't deconstruct your hand.. Be safe!

    thats weird. something you said right before your alexa went off, set mine off too. I muted it's mic input until after you yelled at yours... which reminds me, I still have to finish putting that thing on a push to talk solution.

    Where can I get some of that wire? I need to use some of that to make some ear hooks for my earbuds that I use to play guitar with. They are my in-ear monitors and they don't stay snug to my head like they're supposed to anymore

    about tedium, there are times when I think it's helpful for us to do tedious things, to lose ourselves in a task. specifically with making things although that's probably just my own maker perspective. just letting the hands move almost on their own and come out of it on the other end with a tangible physical object, really gets the brain making the happy chemicals.
