As a Brit, the irreverence of this fills me with glee. Born between the death of George 6th and the coronation of the late queen I have nurtured a slight sense of disconnect from the royals. Great stuff, Adam!!!!
I think we need to find a music box chime that plays "God save the King" to go in the "Holy Smokes" grenade. Great project and problem solving. Keep up the amazing work!
Great build, it is very interesting to see how Adam works through his engineering obstacles. Maybe it could be used to dispense candy cigarettes ( if you can still find them ) instead of actual cigarettes. For your electrical switching you may want to use magnetic reed switches, they are great for situations like this with movement triggering and tight spaces.
Popeye cigarettes are now Popeye candy sticks which are the same as before but without the red tip. Finding the chocolate and gum is much more difficult as most countries have outright banned them.
You actually showed the magic trick that made me quit smoking ... American Spirit. I wasn't primarily addicted to nicotine, but to all the secret additives they put in major brand cigarettes. Trying American Spirit taught me that and I quit smoking completely before finishing that first pack of 20. Was really easy too, it did provide nicotine to build down the level over a few days and I never looked back since (~15 years).
What’s interesting about that is American Spirits typically have more tobacco and filler in them and therefore more nicotine exposure, making them some of the more addictive cigarette brands.
@@TheYongary If you're sensitive to nicotine that is; but I noticed the nicotine - aka smoking AS - did not do 'anything' for me, making it really easy to quit quickly. There was no 'rush / craving' to smoke at least every 30 or 60 minutes, like with other brands; so it really was from a pack a day to 3 or 4 cigarettes a day over night for me (and quit completely within a week). Your mileage may vary, but for anyone that hasn't tried AS, it could be worth a shot !
I've been addicted to American Spirits products for twenty years. They are owned by one of the big corporations now and are no longer independent, that happened about six years ago. They also now only grow their tobacco in North Carolina, not in New Mexico, but I'm pretty sure they still use a strain of tobacco called nicotiana rustica, which has over thirteen percent freebase nicotine versus whatever blend Marlboro uses that is about five percent. One thing I noticed is that when I switched to rolling my cigarettes as opposed to buying packs, I smoked less, and consumed overall much less tobacco. Anyway, I'm a week or so into my quitting plan, it's going well and I hope to be rid of nicotine by January 1. Congratulations on breaking free and staying that way!
@@pedrodepacas-ic1cb My experience is indeed like 15 years ago; hope they did not change the formula to have all the secretive addictive additives too now; a bit more nicotine without additional checimals is still way less 'bad' for your health than all the other (mostly also cancer-inducing) stuff. PS: Keep up the good work & stay strong (and out of other peoples smoke too; that can be so seductive, especially when alcohol is involved too ! )

As a fellow former smoker... when the stress hits the fan I crave... been unemployed for 7 weeks now and been fighting the cravings for the entire time (and I quit 5 years ago, also around the same age as Adam).
Yes, very much so. It ties into the "divine right of kings" and represents the monarch being entrusted with God's power on Earth. The merits of that philosophy are debatable, but the visual representation is pretty decent, in my opinion.
I KNEW the symbolism of the Orb. 1: It's NOT the "Ugliest". 2: You have the Meaning turned around. The Bible says God sets up Kings & Queens upon the Throne (but can also.. take them Down). It is NOT saying The King IS.. OVER ..GOD. It REMINDS the Sovereign that THEIR Power is FROM GOD...NOT.. OVER GOD. Else a Crown would b on top. It is divided up into 3 sections, for the 3 KNOWN Continents in Medieval Times. It weighs 1.3kgs or apprx. 3 lbs.
Imagine if you will…. Adam is joyously chuckling about his confluence of royal and cancer sticks and hears a knock at his door. He says, “Just a second, I wasn’t expecting a delivery…” The next thing we hear is a door slamming open and, “GET ON THE FLOOR! DRM SWAT TEAM! WE ARE HERE TO SEIZE YOUR ILLEGAL AUDIO DEVICE!” Adam says, “Wait, what the flip?” A gloved hand is seen scooping up the offending device. A disheveled Adam, hair all akimbo says, “Who knew that music box tune was a problem?”

Just for grins you might want to explore the construction of 'whistlers'; aka pop-up clockwork-driven mechanical singing birds which were popular for many years, centuries ago as music boxes. It would be fun if that thing played a tune when it was opened. :-)

As a Brit, the irreverence of this fills me with glee. Born between the death of George 6th and the coronation of the late queen I have nurtured a slight sense of disconnect from the royals. Great stuff, Adam!!!!
Traitor.
I think it should b Just a Musical candy bowl! I mean..whooo has one of those??
Spectacularly fun build! Probably one of the most amusing. And, possibly one the most deadly. Albeit slowly. Once again, fantastic sir.
Adam has gone from warning us about the stapler's lust for blood every time he touches us, to stapling in his lap :P brave man 😂
I stapled my own hand yesterday.
34:52 aimed directly at his crotch haha. 🤣
I love watching your adhd brain, it makes me enthusiastic to watch things I normally wouldn't, infectious passion you have good sir :)
PS: Keep up the good work & stay strong (and out of other peoples smoke too; that can be so seductive, especially when alcohol is involved too ! )
The most engineered cigarette holder in the world! Fabulous!
The most insane, pointless build ever…. Loved every second ❤❤❤❤😂
I gave this a Thumbs Up BEFORE 4 MINUTES! I love it!
I started laughing uncontrollably at around 37:13 when everything started shaking and falling. It's just the bull in a china shop Aspect of Adam that's so great
He's a force of nature, to be sure.
This man is the mad scientist of prop making. Love you Adam
I'd love to see an Excalibur build ;oD
I’m torn 😢 between loving this and the blood on their hands part really tore me up emotionally when I heard that only because I just lost my mom at 55 years old of cancer from smoking it’s not your problem or anyone else’s. It just hit me that way but I still love the video I love the content I just wish that, my mom was still here I don’t know just hit me
Love the build! Imagine if the cigs rotated like a little carousel when it opens 🤣🤣🤣
Adam’s brain process’s are so much like my own brain it’s uncanny!!!
This is so cool!!!
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No matter what you say it really is, it will always be the holy hand grenade to Python fans! Great video btw!
As a fellow former smoker... when the stress hits the fan I crave... been unemployed for 7 weeks now and been fighting the cravings for the entire time (and I quit 5 years ago, also around the same age as Adam).
This is one of the most stupid and most interesting builds, yet. It very beautifully combines mechanics, electronics, and sowing. And it's hilarious 😂
This has become a full on interactive sculpture, Adam! With a commentary and message to boot! It would easily be featured in an exhibition.
I think the symbolism is meant to be understood more like “God has placed stewardship of the earth in the kings hand”
Yes, very much so. It ties into the "divine right of kings" and represents the monarch being entrusted with God's power on Earth.
The merits of that philosophy are debatable, but the visual representation is pretty decent, in my opinion.
The only missed oppurtunity is not calling it a CruSigerette, absolutely fantastic build and always a delight to watch you work Adam
3 lbs.
Glad someone else noticed that he had completely misunderstood the symbolism.
@@Szlater I Don't know WHEERRE He got THAT idea from!
Spendin tooo much time in his cave maybe? lol😂
"It's too simple! I must over complicate it and make it do something fun!" Love watching him work.
Imagine if you will….
Adam is joyously chuckling about his confluence of royal and cancer sticks and hears a knock at his door.
He says, “Just a second, I wasn’t expecting a delivery…”
The next thing we hear is a door slamming open and, “GET ON THE FLOOR! DRM SWAT TEAM! WE ARE HERE TO SEIZE YOUR ILLEGAL AUDIO DEVICE!”
Adam says, “Wait, what the flip?”
A gloved hand is seen scooping up the offending device.
A disheveled Adam, hair all akimbo says, “Who knew that music box tune was a problem?”
the feet tapping while holding the hot glue to dry: very relatable and ty for including that and many other grand moments during the process haha, love how you film n edit very authentic and raw :)
"Five!"
"Three sir"
"Three!"
You know instead of cigs you can use it to hold small tools.
around the 21:00 mark, great song choice with the whistling, glad im not the only one listening to rhianna in the shop.
Now do religious symbols from other religions. Or how about US constitution toilet paper?
You make me smile, thank you for all your time and effort.
@11:12 - That "screw you jigsaw blade" moment, with the edit left on the mangled remains... so good. SO. GOOD.
Would love to work with Adam for a week! It's on my bucket list!!
Maybe he could 'fundraise' that off. Brilliant. Mega fundraiser/ crowdpleaser both.
Re-watching friends I saw Joey’s agent with her cigarette dispenser on her desk yesterday and left hysterically. This is so timely for me anyway, have a great day.
best thing Adam has said directly to us. dont smoke ok, I still want you to be around for a long time. so endearing.
Fun fact, "Daisy Bell" sung by HAL9000 was a reference to it being the first song sung by any computer, an IBM 704 at Bell Labs in 1961.
I love the dark humor behind this project!!
Just for grins you might want to explore the construction of 'whistlers'; aka pop-up clockwork-driven mechanical singing birds which were popular for many years, centuries ago as music boxes. It would be fun if that thing played a tune when it was opened. :-)
This is amazing! The only thing that could have possibly made this better was using a different music box that played God Save The Queen!
