Excellent solutions for the Third World when there are no hardware stores anywhere to be found and you have no money, but what you do have is a bunch of junk laying around to fashion as you need it to make things work. Good video.

They do make saddle taps for drain stacks. It’s important that the hole matches the diameter of the saddle taps diameter. You do not want a "shelf" within the main pipe otherwise it can collect debris and plug up.

Most of the things in the video are good methods but in the first Part1 method, the heat gun with a Nozzele gun adapter to focus the heating on the pipe hole section only will be good to avoid heating the rest of the pipe section next to the hole weakening the pipe structure.
Secondly, the rusted screws screwed into the pipe to fix holes in the pipe are not a good idea for avoiding the screw corrosion into the water over time instead use plastic wall plugs, or heck even the plastic drinking straws will be just fine bend the straw in half and then put the straws bent side into the hole then go on with the Pvc glue and Pvc cut the piece to secure the damaged section of the full pipe.

What I don’t and never will understand is why don’t the pipe manufacturers make specific fittings for specific needs? Here in Greece when they don’t have a piece of pipe that does not have the factory expanded joint, plumbers heat the pipe and expand it with another pipe of the same diameter. Hell in the states we have fittings for about everything one might need. It’s quicker and you do not need to waste torch gas to get the job done.
