      I did, and it was the best experience. My appointment was just myself and the bridal consultant from the store. She knew exactly what I was looking for! It was the second dress! She insisted that I try on another style of gown just to be sure. I went home, to sleep on it, my consultant told me about the bridal show and that there was a surprise! The next day, I went to the bridal show, and the gown that I had chosen was featured in the fashion show! The store even offered a 20% discount for the trunk show since I attend the bridal show! I went back to the store the next business day, tried on the dress again, and me and my consultant were so emotional! I had alterations and added sleeves from the extra layers of tulle and ordered appliques from the designer for the sleeves. My dress was just the more beautiful with the custom features . The cap sleeves looked like they were supposed to be part of the original gown!!

    • @wildflower1397
      @wildflower1397 2 роки тому +31

      They did not ignore it, they stayed right in her range. For people who are used to purchasing high priced items, it is understood that "$7000" means up to "$7,999". She is a beauty contestant and would have the experience to expect this, as well as knowing that alterations will likely be hundreds of dollars. Any extras, such as added lace, beading, or accessories such as a veil will not be included in the first quote. They even left enough room in the budget to ensure she would not go over the $8000 mark with alterations.
      While I agree it is disrespectful to only show dresses above the bride's budget, that was not the case in this episode. If the bride's budget was $1500 and they showed $2000 dresses, it would be rude, because that $500 more is 1/3 of her original budget. However, going a few hundred over on a $7000 budget is just a small fraction of the budget higher. Either way, they should never pressure the customer to try on or purchase what they can't afford.
      Brides need to be ready to stand their ground on budget and not try on anything shown to them above budget. Better yet, state a budget lower than what they can actually afford, so they can view a range of prices. However, don't fault a salesperson for showing them something over budget if it is exactly what they are asking for. It's not always about their commission. Sometimes what the customer wants is simply not in their price range, and they deserve the chance to turn down their perfect dress or increase their budget so they can have it.

      They all didn't just mimic her opinions on the dresses. So what? What are they there for? Why did she bring them?
      And you forget that this is a reality show. The application supposedly has a list of people you can bring, and then the producers tell you who you have to bring. The episodes all have a story, and the entourage is often part of it. Since all the brides apply to be on this show, they all agree to all the terms. Agreed, but, sometimes it helps to have someone there who can let you know if a dress honestly is not flattering on you. Sometimes we are so obsessed with wanting a gorgeous dress that we saw in a magazine or in the store on the rack, that we subconsciously overlook reality if it’s not flattering on our individual figures. Unfortunately, most high end dresses seem to be designed for super thin and super tall women, because they want the dresses to look great on the runway. Anyways, that was my personal experience at Kleinfelds. I came in thinking mermaid would look amazing on me, and turned out a ballgown actually was the most flattering. It gets toxic though when the people with you give unproductive feedback, especially feedback that has nothing to do with how it looks on you, and more of just their own personal taste in dresses, which is about 50% of the people on this show.

    Dresses 1 and 2: the bride wasn't in love, and it shows. I think Tina picked up on it.
    Dress 4: Perfection.
    Tina wasn't that bad. She just pointed out things that I saw that made the dresses look off on her.

    The title is very clickbait-y. The MIL was reasonable and not rude whatsoever. The bride was probably mildly irritated but definitely not what the video title tries to insinuate.

    • @catladyfromky4142

      Why? This bride wants their opinions. This isn't your wedding dress, it is hers. And she wants other people's perspectives about what she will look nice in. It is not a crime for people - whom the bride purposefully brought - to share their opinions. Some brides want everyone to like their dress. And, since the brides usually marry in a setting with lots of people, they bring people who will be in the "audience" to share what they see. And brides often want people they care about to share in picking a dress. Just because YOU don't want to do it doesn't mean all the other brides have to do it your way.

    Its not the destination...its the journey that counts the most. And will be remembered the most. The whole ritual of a group of family & friends coming together to support & critique wedding gowns is a time honored tradition. Almost a day as big as the wedding day itself. Brides & viewers need to accept & enjoy the process & realize its a dance of give & take. Its family building memory & cementing bond time. A smart bride should know this beforehand.

    Heaven help that bride when she has kids! My mother in law is eerily similar. This bride is sooooo beautiful. I bet the crowd gasped when she walked in in her gorgeous gown. Wow. It's a shame the marriage didn't last. I read she divorced and has since remarried.

    As much as the editing tried to make the mother-in-law out to be a nasty woman, I really think they failed lol. She just came off to me as a loving mom who didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, that knows she's an opinionated person, but has it pretty well in check. I liked her :)

    I think the mother talking about how she’s been dreaming of “being a bride”
    for so long explains a lot about her marriage, divorce, and eventual remarriage. It seems like she was way more focused on the wedding itself and on being a bride then she was focused on who she was actually getting married to and whether that person with the right person to have a marriage with.

    Stunning gown on her!💜 But didn't she say "up to $7000, no more"? Not counting alterations, tax, the veil and head piece, the gown alone is $7600. Mmmm🤔. I'm glad she picked this one too.
