@S k. Wow, really? But yet they spent so much money on this dress and everything else. It feels like the more expensive a wedding is the faster they divorce.
I did, and it was the best experience. My appointment was just myself and the bridal consultant from the store. She knew exactly what I was looking for! It was the second dress! She insisted that I try on another style of gown just to be sure. I went home, to sleep on it, my consultant told me about the bridal show and that there was a surprise! The next day, I went to the bridal show, and the gown that I had chosen was featured in the fashion show! The store even offered a 20% discount for the trunk show since I attend the bridal show! I went back to the store the next business day, tried on the dress again, and me and my consultant were so emotional! I had alterations and added sleeves from the extra layers of tulle and ordered appliques from the designer for the sleeves. My dress was just the more beautiful with the custom features . The cap sleeves looked like they were supposed to be part of the original gown!!
true, but she definitely picked the right dress. i don't think the severe mermaid silhouette was for her, the blingy embroidery on a fit & flare was just perfection.

I agree. Although I feel that she did not communicate exactly WHAT she didn't like as well as she could have, I think she and the test of the entourage gave good feedback so the bride got the dress that looked best on her and what she wanted.

They did not ignore it, they stayed right in her range. For people who are used to purchasing high priced items, it is understood that "$7000" means up to "$7,999". She is a beauty contestant and would have the experience to expect this, as well as knowing that alterations will likely be hundreds of dollars. Any extras, such as added lace, beading, or accessories such as a veil will not be included in the first quote. They even left enough room in the budget to ensure she would not go over the $8000 mark with alterations. While I agree it is disrespectful to only show dresses above the bride's budget, that was not the case in this episode. If the bride's budget was $1500 and they showed $2000 dresses, it would be rude, because that $500 more is 1/3 of her original budget. However, going a few hundred over on a $7000 budget is just a small fraction of the budget higher. Either way, they should never pressure the customer to try on or purchase what they can't afford. Brides need to be ready to stand their ground on budget and not try on anything shown to them above budget. Better yet, state a budget lower than what they can actually afford, so they can view a range of prices. However, don't fault a salesperson for showing them something over budget if it is exactly what they are asking for. It's not always about their commission. Sometimes what the customer wants is simply not in their price range, and they deserve the chance to turn down their perfect dress or increase their budget so they can have it.
@@wildflower1397 It's super manipulative and wrong to go over someone's budget. The consultants know the dresses and prices; why they always go right at the top of the budget or above is beyond me, instead of choosing similar dresses ~$500 below the bride's max budget. Like so annoying.
@@wildflower1397Not only that it she would know that the type of dress she wanted aka something with lots of lace and beading from a high end boutique with expensive brands, would cost more than 7000
I love what she got! $600 over? It's totally impossible for me to relate. When I started looking at David's Bridal I did not choose right away. In the meantime a cousin called me and asked if I had a dress yet. She had a friend that called off her wedding. She had a dress altered and wondered if I wanted to just take a look. I figured why not. I'm 5'2", 120. The dress fit perfectly and I loved it more than any I had seen so far. Total $35. Yes I got blessed. This business of spending thousands is crazy. At least be within reason.
I also think the outrageous prices for a dress worn ONCE is beyond comprehension. But I’m nothing if not practical. My wedding dress was a God-given blessing. It fit me perfectly without alterations, had all the features I wanted and made me feel fabulous, and cost $400.
A blessing for my mom was a lost opportunity for me. Her dress was borrowed and fit perfectly without alterations. I absolutely loved it (long story here, but I never saw photos until >45 years after my wedding) - and WAY more than the dress that I chose/wore. And we were exactly the same height/frame, so it would've fit me perfectly.

Well I thought it was wrong to give the MIL so much power. It's not her day, it's not her dress, so why is her opinion, the make or break approval given so much importance? She was brought dresses over $7,000 , when she had said her limit was $7,000. She's beautiful and the dress looked perfect. I wasn't thrilled with this episode tho. It just didn't sit right regarding the power given to the MIL.
After watching the show, I think the bride’s entourage is awesome. I will admit that I am the type of mom/mom-in-law that will pretty much love everything, but I think the opinions were nicely given.
It's because of what she wanted. The type of dress she wanted was always going to be over her range, it's a miracle they had dresses that were still within the 7-8 thousand range. She's at a high end run way designer bridal boutique in New York. Of course it's going to be a bit over her range. The dress type she wanted was always going to be expensive no matter where she went though. I'm sure she understood she might need extra.
I've seen this a lot on this show and it really bothers me that push dresses higher than the given budget and are always trying to upsell dresses and drama. I don’t think the MIL was anything but supportive. She was never mean just thought she could look better. And at the end she was soo sweet to say “she’s the perfect women for my son,” how sweet that is. I would love to have a MIL that felt soo highly of me and wasn’t dishonest about how I looked and gave honest feedback without being hurtful. It’s a given its Erin’s choice in the final say in the end. Do you have another son Tina? Lol … I remembered trying on clothes with my mom and a sales lady was soo nosey and told my mom that everything she tried on looked great and one shirt my mom was questioning and once I saw it, I saw the same thing my mom was seeing. It wasn’t horrible but it also wasn’t very flattering and told her honestly and the sales lady scolded me for saying the truth. And my mom told her that’s why I’m asking my daughter because I know that she will tell her me the truth good or bad.
This is why I picked out, and got my wedding dress by myself, with no one helping me, because I was going to be wearing the dress, it was my wedding, and the only one whose opinion mattered about my dress was mine.
STOP asking the entourage what they like. It's not their wedding, it's the bride's. Her wishes are all that matter. All the dresses were lovely on her.
She brought them, yes? She wants their opinions, yes? And...if she had gotten the first dress she loved (that her entourage didn't) she would not have tried on the last one. So maybe they actually helped her to find the perfect dress. So maybe they were an asset. They all didn't just mimic her opinions on the dresses. So what? What are they there for? Why did she bring them? And you forget that this is a reality show. The application supposedly has a list of people you can bring, and then the producers tell you who you have to bring. The episodes all have a story, and the entourage is often part of it. Since all the brides apply to be on this show, they all agree to all the terms. If not, they would have a regular appointment that no one would see on their TV.
I agree with you 100%; is the bride it is getting married not them!!!! Tina needs to have her opinion if she’s married for her second vows!!!!! Her daughter-in-law is gorgeous and can wear anything; she needs to be quiet; she is rude!!!!! She was supposed to be a support system and not chaos!!!!

First dress: the one in the picture that she showed them as the perfect dress. That they actually have in the store. That is only a few hundred over her budget. That she would have been upset had she NOT put it on. All the other dresses: in the same price range as the first dress. You: angrier than the bride for trying on the dresses. "Only a couple of hundred dollars"? You're clearly quite ignorant and don't know the worth hundreds of dollars have. 100 dollars is 1/10 of 1000. Do you get that? The last dress was 7600? I have watched there other episodes and they often tell them later. Making someone put on a dress, fall in love, than later tell them it's over budget is cunning and decieving. Of course they'll be okay with it and try to buy it anyway since they are already inlove with it and they probably can barely aford it. Look at all the dresses they have. A sweet bride, her mother is elegant, kind, and supportive along with her beautiful BFF's. Some entourages confuse being helpful with trying to choose the dress entirely. If the bride loves something and it generally looks good on her, just be supportive, even if it's not exactly the dress you'd pick!
"This is the perfect girl for my son." I can't belive this MIL had the nerve to say that. She's so lucky that this young woman loves her son. She could do much worse. She could actually have a DIL who doesn't care what she thinks.
Agreed, but, sometimes it helps to have someone there who can let you know if a dress honestly is not flattering on you. Sometimes we are so obsessed with wanting a gorgeous dress that we saw in a magazine or in the store on the rack, that we subconsciously overlook reality if it’s not flattering on our individual figures. Unfortunately, most high end dresses seem to be designed for super thin and super tall women, because they want the dresses to look great on the runway. Anyways, that was my personal experience at Kleinfelds. I came in thinking mermaid would look amazing on me, and turned out a ballgown actually was the most flattering. It gets toxic though when the people with you give unproductive feedback, especially feedback that has nothing to do with how it looks on you, and more of just their own personal taste in dresses, which is about 50% of the people on this show.
I'll never understand why some of these brides cede so much control to the mother-in-law. Let the mother-in-law obsess over what the GROOM is wearing. His tux. What the bride wears is none of her business. And none of the groom's business either. These brides are so immature, they're barely adult. Stand up for yourself and get what you want to wear.
Dresses 1 and 2: the bride wasn't in love, and it shows. I think Tina picked up on it. Dress 4: Perfection. Tina wasn't that bad. She just pointed out things that I saw that made the dresses look off on her.
The title is very clickbait-y. The MIL was reasonable and not rude whatsoever. The bride was probably mildly irritated but definitely not what the video title tries to insinuate.
Why? This bride wants their opinions. This isn't your wedding dress, it is hers. And she wants other people's perspectives about what she will look nice in. It is not a crime for people - whom the bride purposefully brought - to share their opinions. Some brides want everyone to like their dress. And, since the brides usually marry in a setting with lots of people, they bring people who will be in the "audience" to share what they see. And brides often want people they care about to share in picking a dress. Just because YOU don't want to do it doesn't mean all the other brides have to do it your way.
@@catladyfromky4142 I’m going to be nice. Whose wedding is it the bride or the people she brings with her? Sure it’s nice to have opinions but it’s the brides choice or do you not get that?
Its not the destination...its the journey that counts the most. And will be remembered the most. The whole ritual of a group of family & friends coming together to support & critique wedding gowns is a time honored tradition. Almost a day as big as the wedding day itself. Brides & viewers need to accept & enjoy the process & realize its a dance of give & take. Its family building memory & cementing bond time. A smart bride should know this beforehand.
Heaven help that bride when she has kids! My mother in law is eerily similar. This bride is sooooo beautiful. I bet the crowd gasped when she walked in in her gorgeous gown. Wow. It's a shame the marriage didn't last. I read she divorced and has since remarried.

I think the mother talking about how she’s been dreaming of “being a bride” for so long explains a lot about her marriage, divorce, and eventual remarriage. It seems like she was way more focused on the wedding itself and on being a bride then she was focused on who she was actually getting married to and whether that person with the right person to have a marriage with.

Me too! 20 and chose my dress last month by myself! Best decision ever
Okay, hear me out. Usually, mils can be annoying but Tina was actually a great critique and she even explained what she didn't like in any of the dresses. i definitely got the "These dresses don't speak her, she can do far better." vibes when she didn't initially like any of the dresses. And I AGREE WITH HER! It didn't do the bride anything at all.
But the last dress she chose was perfect and I knew the mil will say the same, when she finally sees De dress on her, she gave her approval.
I agree. Although I feel that she did not communicate exactly WHAT she didn't like as well as she could have, I think she and the test of the entourage gave good feedback so the bride got the dress that looked best on her and what she wanted.
They heard Randy and the Bride talking.
You missed the point. She doesn't get to have an opinion about the dress. Other things, maybe. Dress? Nope.
Yeah but the bride was clearly a little frustrated. She could have toned it down just a little for her bridal appointment.
@@Impossibly_gorgeous only the whole reason she was invited was so that she would be able to have her opinion. If she wasn’t going to be allowed to have an opinion in the dresses, she wouldn’t have been invited. Strange you missed that important clue.

@@SM-ji1qe I have a slight feeling some good old classic “reality show editing” was done to make it seem that way. They sure didn't listen to or respect her budget. She clearly said no MORE than $7,000.
WOW! To hear a mother say her soon to be daughter in-law is the perfect woman for her son is a true honor. THATS something you hear and many women don’t care.
WOW! Congratulations! God Bless
I wonder if she said that to her sons new wife. They are divorced and both have remarried
I was annoyed by the fact that they disrespected the bride when they ignored her budget. So rude of the bridal company.
Rude of Randy!
@@wildflower1397 she did say "no higher than $7000" ...

I agree with the Mamas. She looks absolutely stunning in that dress. A true Queen, who will look gorgeous on her wedding day.
Tina done good job actually she said yes to the perfect gown for her... She looks stunning in that
This is why I picked out, and got my wedding dress by myself, with no one helping me, because I was going to be wearing the dress, it was my wedding, and the only one whose opinion mattered about my dress was mine.
STOP asking the entourage what they like. It's not their wedding, it's the bride's. Her wishes are all that matter. All the dresses were lovely on her.
But if they didn't cause drama, would the show get as many views?

Exactly! But this bride seemed to be a very nice and naive woman. Her mother seemed very kind as well. They appear to be people-pleasers or peace setters. In the other hand, the mother in law is more incisive and controlling. It's a "perfect match" of someone who likes power and someone who wants to please.
A sweet bride, her mother is elegant, kind, and supportive along with her beautiful BFF's. The woman who is the bride, is still looking for an audience to cheer her on. This is a wedding not the "pageant world".
Ball gowns say Bridal, but women hear so much criticism they can't discern.
I never understand this... the BRIDE is wearing the dress, and whether she loves it or not should be the only thing that matters.
Always baffle me, my wedding, my dress..I don't care about your opinion.I went shopping on my own.. turn out just Fab!

Those brides need to go alone or with their bridesmaids and let them know from jump street that it’s HER WEDDING and HER DRESS.

Heaven help that bride when she has kids! My mother in law is eerily similar. This bride is sooooo beautiful. I bet the crowd gasped when she walked in in her gorgeous gown. Wow. It's a shame the marriage didn't last. I read she divorced and has since remarried.
As much as the editing tried to make the mother-in-law out to be a nasty woman, I really think they failed lol. She just came off to me as a loving mom who didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, that knows she's an opinionated person, but has it pretty well in check. I liked her :)
I think the mother talking about how she’s been dreaming of “being a bride”
for so long explains a lot about her marriage, divorce, and eventual remarriage. It seems like she was way more focused on the wedding itself and on being a bride then she was focused on who she was actually getting married to and whether that person with the right person to have a marriage with.
Randy's "hey beautiful" makes me smile every time
Stunning gown on her!💜 But didn't she say "up to $7000, no more"? Not counting alterations, tax, the veil and head piece, the gown alone is $7600. Mmmm🤔. I'm glad she picked this one too.
They found the most beautiful dress for her because of the particular MIL. She looks radiant on that last dress. 😍
This why I went by myself to pick out my wedding gown.
Could you talk about the experience, pls? Did you felt doubtful at any time?
Did you decide to shop the gown without show to anyone?
When my time comes I'm thinking about going alone but I have these questions
Actually, I never even considered having family or friends come with me. However, I did bring my fiance. AFTER I picked the gown that I wanted, I had him brought into the room to see various options - and, WITHOUT my identifying my choice, he chose the same one!
The MIL was actually kind and she was completely right. She wasn't being a drama queen, she was gently offering her honest opinion. I saw nothing wrong with it.
Mother in law is gonna rule that household if she keeps deferring to her for decisions
I'd say she's potentially part of the reason this marriage didn't last.
"No more than 7k."
*Proceeds to pull the very first dress that's 200 dollars over.* Randy plz
MIL needs to remember its not her day. I know she loves her and wants her to look her best.
Her dress budget is more than my entire wedding cost!! Although my wedding was 22 years ago, but wow.
