Portia Woodman and the smiling assassin Stacey Fluhler are both my personal favorite women rugby players. Plus what a cool ass nickname. The Smiling Assassin. Give me a break, that nickname is amazing and fitting as well. Let’s go Ferns.
Stacey cut loose last RWC.
The women's goat would be new Zealands portia woodman. A try scoring machine
It's not popular yet. They only just started going professional. England professionalised first so the Red Roses are absolutely dominating. France professionalised shortly thereafter.
Men only professionalised in the 90's.
Seatbelt tackles are illegal because contact is made above the height of the shoulder (contact to neck and head by defender is illegal). The England player who scored is Nolli Waterman (Daniella), against Canada (26.11.16, at Twickenham).
your no 15 was nolly waterman scoring the first try of the 2014 world cup final
The "seat belt" tackle was bannede because you could all too easily damage the other player's neck. That is also why the shoulder area is the highest tacking area: you're not allowed to tear someone's head off.
The general consensus is that Portia Woodman is the female GOAT… But on a less show reel type, you cannot ignore maggie alphonsi.
Forearm fends are legal.
What you can't do is a forearm bash. It's the same with stiff arms. You can move your extended hand up, down, left or right but you can't basically throw a punch.
Portia Woodman and Stacey Fluler
i am an asian. for me
1. US women Football team because they won the fifa world cup.
2. US women volleyball team. they played olympics and few other major tournament finals. and they are more popular in europe.
3. US women olympic track and field athletes. Allyson Felix was a legend.
4. serena and vinus williams when they were in their prime.
Cannot go past Portia Woodman of the Black Ferns, she is the goat in 7's and 15's while Michaela Blyde on the other wing is coming up fast. Another to consider is Australia's Madi Levi, she is awesome so too is England's Marlie Packer. Now favs, Stacey Waaka the smiling assassin (Black Ferns) , Jorja Miller ( Black Ferns) , oh darn, all the 7 's team member of the Black Ferns, Faith Nathon (Aust), Sophie de Goodie (Canada), Joanna Grisez (France), Niah Tapper (USA), Alev Kelter (USA),
Nevermind what team it is the fact that they play and tackle like man thats insane...
Tuff. No protecting gear like in Am Football.
NZ are current RWC holders.
If you would like to watch 2014 Rugby World Cup. Black Ferns against England Red Roses
It popular more so here in Oz (& NZ - our arch enemy Grrrrr) along with UK and Pacific Island. However France and Ireland have good teams. For us here, USA grid iron is boring. But Rugby mens and women is awesome.
Nothing to the head. The tackle is illegal if it's above the shoulder. If there's no intent and no possible damage then it'll probably be ignored.
Top female players (from an English PoV) Abby Dow, Marlie Packer and Emma Sing spring to mind.
Don't forget Emily Scarratt.
Bruv..who number 12 in yellow?
Hahaha our women are bred tough, I'm sure it they wanted an easier time of it and something not so physical they might consider the NFL.😂
England women utterly dominant right now but got beaten in the World Cup final last year by NZ but had two players sent off.
One player sent off, for taking out NZs best player.
This is our woman.
Why do your men need padding and helmets 😂
England lady's the red roses most successful team and New Zealand the ferns Portia woodman is the goat . I am off to see England lady's v Wales ladies at the end of the month😂
Keep in mind that this video has only fairly old footage...much of which from Sevens with bits and pieces of League and all of it from a time when women rugby Union was not professional at all. Right now, the transition towards professionalism (started around 2018) in some countries is bringind about massive increase in skills and athleticism.
England has been at the forefront of that, followed by some distance by New Zealand, Wales, Scotland, France, Italy and just recently Fiji, South Africa and soon Astralia.
The reality is that women's rugby is not yet near maturity. But it is one of fastest growing sport worldwide
you missed the american players.
This is rugby union you should reacted to the difference to rugby League and rugby union so you can know that they are two different codes? Also reacted to Wigan invincible from 1988-1995 who play in the British super league and react to Wigan Vs Penrith the world club championships. Plus Wigan Vs hull the 1985 cup finals brilliant game.
USA it’s women’s college basketball and in the uk it’s soccer
😂😂😂😂 Seriously, these slow Women's rugby players would be laughed off an Aussie women's NRL field & smashed up badly .
