There is a hidden VR mission, they say it's impossible to complete, I don't know much about it but rumor says it's just one boss fight, his name is "The Camera Man".

OMG! I just finished this mission. This was so hard. I had luck when Fenrir stunned those guys. Two days earlier I couldn't even pass those 2 Mastiff, but I practiced counter attacks. I'm not a good player, so I think it's a matter of practice (and luck). I'm a living example that even an average gamer girl can finish this mission. Just don't give up. I wish you all luck.

Stick at the corner where the Mastiffs will land from their drop kick. Then time your parry. If lucky and prompted, perform a big swing execution kill (Triangle+Circle) and make sure that you are swinging near the other Mastiff for a quick kill

i remember a previous MGS game where you had to snipe 100 guys before they reached a box, thinking that was the hardest thing i've ever seen...........man was i wroooooooooooooooong.
I found that RV mission much more difficult and tiring than this one.
Also, the biggest enemy here is the fucking camera. I swear if it wasn't jerking you away from the enemy every second, this wouldn't be so hard.
i hate that you have to be perfectly still in order to bring up the weapon menu
Yep, It makes changing unique weapon so hard to do and a huge waste of time that the Fenrir would have already run away by then

Never thought I could beat it, seriously.
Finally did it in 5:00 flat. I could parry the mastiffs okay, but I swear to god if that dog uses its plasma cannon it's a guaranteed death. Glad I never have to touch this again.

This is how you WIN
practice parrying and study every enemies attacks to see what is easiest to parry and slide, blade mode dwarf gekkos (ninja run slash them constantly to gain fuel cells) and for fat guys just keep hitting and dodging till they get stunned (press Y+B) for the wolf do multiple normal (non ninja run jumps) jumps to dodge the rail gun barrage or run at him and slide attack to stop him then the GRAD is just parry, stay at his legs and ninja run cut his missile. No pole or sai required.
This Vr-mission is really Hard, you need a Lot of practice, you need the perfect Timing to knock the enemys with on blow. I had some luck and I beat this Level in 4: 11:68.

Plus camera being twitchy = misleading parry direction
Besides those two issues i constantly have this is kinda okay, So far -though i can get up to the 3rd wave- i use pincer blades, with the aerial HoldY attack, being unresponsive to enemy attacks until he hits the ground. takes out the dwarfs easily, kinda cautious of the sai for stunning...
Dude, you can defeat the gekko in 15 seconds.

The camera is your most dangerous enemy in this mission.

Parry their attack right before it hits to counter and open them up for an execution
Here are some tips:
Always get you timing right for a perfect parry, and when you use the counter attack it can help if there are other enemies nearby (with the mastiffs, other enemies can get affected by the counter attack).
With the hammer guards, always let them get in the way of the wolf's knives as it can instant kill them.
With the wolf's laser beam, I tend to use the Falling Lighting attack to it to stop it from firing, and unleash triangle-square combos on it until the tripods come.

I always fucking die at wave two.
Why don't you ever use the pincher blades. I played this vr mission and when the dudes with the big hammers are alone, charge up the pinchers and they're literally mince meat. Saves on time.
Well there's 2 schools of thought on the laser canon, 1- stay close to the wolf as it's a long ranged attack (as demonstrated in this video) or 2 agro the two hammer goons around to position them in front of the laser shot so they get hit by it instead, not sure if that's the one but the wolf can instasntly put the hammer goons into blade mode if it hits them with a certin attack
the sai is stunning neither the heavy cyborgs nor the GRAD in my game...
with the third stage your supposed to make the dog throw the knives or shoot the laser at the two heavy solders, it breaks theur armour
All I can say is. FUCK THAT WOLF.
All the weapons are at base power level so they really don't have much difference in power. And since the pole-arm has such a wide area of attack it makes a good crowd control weapon against those dwarf geckos which if your grab by can either explode killing you or leave you open to attack just long enough to get you killed.
I GIVE UP!!! I'm stuck on the stage with the wolf and the two hammer guys. I literally broke a controller trying to do this thousands of times. Does anyone have any tips as for how to kill the wolf?
just do like in video - run around, bait charge jump attack and perfect parry him, also his his knives will destroy hammer guys armor if you also just run around and make him throw them through them
It's cancer. Pure and simple.
If anyone is still having issue kill the dog last and keep the hammer guys between him and you there is a chance he may hit the hammer guys with his knife’s and they will insta kill the hammer guys.
Got about 4 minutes due to the dog killing them for me
IGN gave a walkthrough for the mission:
As you start a Gekko, and a bunch of dawrf gekkos will be staring at you. If you stand away from it, the Gekko will gear itself up for a charge attack. Stand still to meet it, and parry the attack ( If you just stand there the little guys will grab you, and ruin everything ). Finish the QTE and take its electrolytes via Zandantsu. Slaughter the little guys with your sword
Next are two Mastiffs, and dwarf gekkos. Most of the time the Mastiffs will both launch of the wall towards you. If you perfect parry the attack, it's very possible to kill them both with the same parry here. If not, just wait for an opportunity to perfect parry them, and QTE them to death. There's no good way to fight the Mastiffs. Mop up the little guys with your spear afterwards.
The third wave is the make it or break it point of this mission. A LQ-84 Fenrir with a Railgun, two armored cyborgs with hammers, and a bunch of dwarf gekkos spawn. Try to goad the dog into a lunging attack, and perfect parry it. This is very frustrating, because the dog has a lot of long range attacks and everything seems to kill you in one hit. If you kill that awful dog, things become a lot more possible. Carefully kill the dwarf gekkos with the spear. Make sure you're always out of range of the hammer guys. When the little guys are dead, equip the Sai weapon. When it turns purple, aim at one guy, and press triangle followed quickly by square when the attack connects. He'll be stunned there. Let it turn purple again, and fire it at the other guy. You'll be pulled in for a quick wailing session. Focus on the guy you just wailed on until he's dead. When one guy is gone, you can just endlessly stun and wail on the other guy.
The fourth wave is dwarf gekkos. Mop them up with your high frequency sword.
The GRAD will spawn in the final wave. He's a joke. If you got here with a decent amount of time on the clock ( at least 8:50.00 ) it's in the bag. Just endlessly stun lock him with Sai, and wail on him until your QTE appears.
I’ve tried dozens of times and nothing there’s only one thing left to do: Hack the Game. For Parry Assist, Infinite Fuel Cells.
For those who don't know the sai stun trick, it has to glow purple before you use it, it takes a couple of seconds to charge and you can't use it till then or it will reset the timer. I didn't know this either and was wondering the same thing, and I got it the next try after I found out. GL you ninja fucks, cut'em up, and knock'em down.
The camera kills me.
Just beat this in 6:23.59. Learned a lot from this video. Wolf's dagger throw one shots the hammer guys and they can block the lasers if you position yourself correctly. Use Pincer charge up to deal with the hammer guys if one of them is left standing.
I failed the Sai stun on GARD, but beat it regardless since they are easier than frigging gekkos.
Sometimes the longer method is the best method
if upgrades were available all this would be easier for vr missions i mean or even if u can have you health and fuel at max

I was able to do this mission in 5 minutes 39 seconds. Parry Counters are a huge help on this stage.
There is NO way I can win. I've tried and tried. I'm nothing without my Added Fuel Cells, Endurance, Fully Upgraded Weapons, Wigs and Ripper Mode. I just wanted to unlock that Armor and Long HF Sword. I'm constantly try to defend myself while attacking but nothing's worked.

Get all of the unqiue weapons and fully upgrade them you can actually use them in VR missions
how do you gaurd the attack then hit after it? thats useful but i dont know how
I hate this mission I tried it lot of times and I cannot do It. Its much harder than all the other 19 missions toguether It's very frustrating 😟
You do realize it's a one hit kill, right? You have to do all this without getting hit and under a time limit.
This fucking VR mission has got me nerd raging so hard right now lol I've already broke and had to fix my controller because I keep getting dropkicked by those 2 big ass mufuckas in the second stage lol
this game is definitely astoundingly frustrating. The camera is weird, the AI is retarded and CHEEEEEEEEEEEAP, and the block/parry system is broken. It has to be because I'll be in a clear blocking stance with only one enemy (so I MUST be blocking him) and I'll keep getting hit as if I were just standing still. but despite all of that I actually really really like this game. Just not on higher difficulties. normal or hard is all fun.

How do you do the stun attack with the Sai dagger? The one that lets you bollock the GRAD.
To make this easier here's a little tip. When you get to the heavy cyborgs as soon as the Zandatsu symbol appears when you weaken an arm, CUT IT OFF IMMEDIATELY. This will finish them almost instantly as they won't be able to fight any more. Doing this I cleared this mission in about 7 and a half minutes. Don't worry about Zandatsu unless you need the health it takes too much time.

Pro tips: Dont stab n grab if you dont need it, instead just slice the self repair unit, dont dothe qte and pick it up when blade mode is finished.
Use sundowners weapon on the hammer cyborgs, massive charge damage can take care of them quickly.
Hyper focus on perfect parries to stun and insta kill ugs.
Use mistral's weapon to get rid of the gekko's.
As someone who recently managed to S rank the game on revengebace difficulty and and have a few VR missions left to complete (probably 8), I can confirm that the real main enemy in the game is indeed the camera. I swear, one time the camera shifted away from the enemy I was shooting with my rocket at for no rrason 💀

LOl my record 4 min. 3 Attempts. its super easy mission for me. But mission 27 its really hell
I didn't think a human being could do this. I'm stuck on this one...I haven't gotten very good at the parry system (countering at least. Great at blocking!) Which would explain my struggles on mission 19. Those are the only two holding me from the unlockable custom body xD the last thing i need... You sir....mad skillz. I will be using this as a guide for sure. I hope they nerf it---at least to very hard level instead of one-hit=Death. I salute you.
I managed to finish it though because of your vid shortly after the no armed cyborg incident.
You just showed me exactly how to deal with the Fenrir fast, my only problem on it. I tried that way but another vid showed a way more risky way and involved a LOT of luck. Stuck for 3 hours last night on this, came back this morning and watched this vid, pulled off the perfect parry on wolfy after two attempts and nearly pulled off the whole rest of the VR. Pathetically I got killed by a NO ARMED Cyborg because I got cocky and didn't stun him no realizing he could still attack me LOL.
manage to do this mission recently in 5:13 mins,i utilized sundownsers blade air hold attack that make you immune to instakills and shreds the small geckos in one hit,and the best way to deal with the gorilas is to stand slightly infront of them and pray one of em does the double kick and you counter pary it,the rest is just luck if you can counter pary the dog robot

Mastiffs are way too fucking fast. Seriously, they're the hardest thing to get past for me.
I got this with just 4:49 min. There is a quick way to kill the two armor soldiers. Keep two of them between the you and the wolf. The wolf will often throw the daggers and they will stun the soldiers (the two of them often stay together so there is a high chance that they are both stunned). You can then zandatsu them.

I beat this VR Mission in 00:07:06 on my 17th attempt.
Easily the hardest VR mission in the game, unfortunately this VR mission relies on RNG, Parries, good strategy and a bit of luck, almost everything kills you in 1 hit, and any mistakes in parrying attacks, you'll fail in the mission.
I know right, I was pissed. It should have been the the stun sword or armor breaker instead of that one just to make it feel worthwhile for enduring mission 18 and 19
Official Time - 6.22.89. SHEER LUCK I swear. If it wasn't for the fenrir throwing Kunai at the berserkers and wiping them out quick into round 3 I would have lost again. It's taken me 4 days just to PASS this one mission an finally the first time I do it it was gold.
Eh kinda. It just takes a few tries. After the two mastiffs I stand in the center to assure im close enough that laser spam wont happen.

at the phase with the 2 heave cyborgs and the wolf, if the wolf hits the cyborgs w/ the knives that it throws it will stun them and then you can do the takedown. if it hits them twice they instantly die. that's what happened for me and I got the mission done in 5 mins.
How do you get the wolf in wave 3 to actually attack you? All he does and spam that laser and kill me every time I try.
This mission is such horseshit. When the gorillas don't spawn behind me and immediately jump on me, they get separated from each other so I can't keep track of both and get dropkicked in the back of the head. And when that doesn't happen, I get one-shot by having a dwarf gekko thrown at me, which I've never seen anywhere else. I don't think I'm ready for the BS of the Fenrir. This is the only mission I haven't even finished, when I have 1st on every other one.
The worst thing about this mission is the camera. Those drop kicking idiots in wave 2 ambush me almost every time. It's unbelievably annoying.
I wanna say thank you cause would have given up if it wasnt for you! i got lucky and spammed the pincer blades on the 3rd level and they died quick and i beat the 4th level because of watching this video. so thanks it help me get 3.46

Having JUST beaten this mission in 04:53:07, I'm gonna say this as discreetly as I can:

I beat this one and 19. I feel like a god, its intoxicating the rest of them didn't stand a chance.
When I got to the part the Fenrir and 2 hammer guys (forgot their name) at the start of it sometimes the dog will jump back and throw its daggers. When you see him doing that get in front of one of the guys and the daggers will kill them instantly. Did it for both of them right off the hop so i didnt have to spend time killing them. Completed this mission with a time of 4:42. After countless times I guess I got lucky this time.
It can come to good use though !!! When he throws his knifes you can parry them and deflect them towards the juggernauts, they will be knocked out !
i hate this dam mission because of 3 things 1. damn dog 2. targeting 3. u die in 1 hit 80% of the time

You have be close to him at all times to avoid him using the laser ever. Not right up against him as you want space to p.parry but not far either. if you can drop the wolf you've pretty much won.
how do you keep stunning the final enemy? it only worked once for me.

between this and 19 i feel like i will never be able to complete all ar missions
I hardly have a problem with the cyborg wolf, its those armored douchebags that give me trouble. Luckily, after countless tries, that wolf cyborg dagger killed those armored fiends making less work for me. I entered waive four with the sai and kept stunning and mashing square with my heart pounding lol. I finally finished all vr missions in first :)
the wolf is a life saver against them damn hammer dudes. let the wolf throw his knives at them at the start it's like almost instant death to them. with that i got 4:52

Took me FOREVER to do this one but when I did I managed to get so lucky and beat it in 5:39.95 xD my only tip that takes some luck is when you're fighting wolf and the 2 heavies go behind one of the heavies when wolf does his attack that shoots out knives it will break their armor in one hit!
I retract my previous comment. I just saw a 3:45 win of this mission so yes it is possible. Dude got a ton of free kills from the badguys.
