Last year I past out 475 flyers and I got 7 jobs all in the same subdivision and 3 bush trimming jobs so far the flyers work for me this is my second year also
chiripas Romero I think it was luck meaning the right time that doesn't happen all the time this year I have more to pass out but I'm going to do it on line and have four delivered to each house one every week this way I'm not outside walking and gives me more time for other things
That’s awesome! I passed out around 250 last year. Got 2 fall cleanups out of it. One asked me “hey I know you’re scheduled to be here tomorrow but do you do gutter clean outs? I said as a matter of fact I do as part of a fall cleanup “package”. I charged 60 extra and it was easy because it was single story house. Funny story while I was passing out cards I got to the end of the subdivision and had to go all the way 10 minutes home to make more business cards and print them out to finish passing them out to the last 5 houses…….guess who I got the 2 jobs from!😂 glad i went and made more or I would have missed the two houses that hired me.
Great video I was “that guy” last year walking up and down sub devision sliding my business card onto flags on mailboxes watching every other one fall off in the breeze. The struggle is real😂 great tips Brian this helps a ton! A lot of tips that honestly will really help me and others. I haven’t tried driving to mailboxes And didn’t know if I could put them in the little secondary newspaper box. I earned two clients in a subdivision. Had one old lady scream “ffffff uuuuuu” as I walked away with her screen door open last summer and I was laughing so hard when I got home to tell the story. Had another cross the road and say “you already put one on mine thanks” being very sarcastic because she didn’t like it. But I landed two clients from that hand out and it was a huge success! Met a super friendly gentleman who was hosting a party out back and I said hi I’m “Daniel can I give you my lawn care business cards we also help with fall cleanups! “ he said sure! I could use help with fall cleanups. Ended up being a package deal for fall cleanup and gutter cleaning on a single story home. Was awesome. Then his nieghbor came out and I earned her business too as she liked my quality of work.
I've always gotten 3 to 4 customers per 100 flyers with cheezy 1/2 page flyers from a local print shop. I use bright green paper that's kinda thick like card stock. The print place punches a hole in the corner so I can use a rubber band to attach to doorknobs, screen door handles, gates, fences, etc. I never knock, just leave the flyer. Also I have a rule, never open anything to place the flyer. If there's a gate I'll just attach it to the gate right there and the same for screen doors. Cheers
@K I don't put them on cars. I feel like people might get sketched out when you are walking up to every vehicle. When people see you putting something on every house they know it's some kind of marketing material.

Thanks for the information. Just starting up and hoping to line customers for fall cleanup and maybe mowing next year. Love your videos keep up the great work.
I flyer for a guy here in California who owns a blinds a shutters business, sick ass job and sick ass boss man. He pays me cash and way over minimum wage plus bonus per call. I usually slide the flyers through the door crease and push it in.
im just starting bc people wanted me to help with gardening and i realized there was a market for that, so i just made some online and printed them from my printer.
I been doing post cards ink on both sides, walk them to door can slide them in seal real easy and quick or if there bench or package I just lay it there.
My experience is also in the morning other Companies are there and willing to take them. With mine I actually write out the quote amount and usually out of 50-60 flyers I get 3-4 residual customers. Just a thought and awesome video thanks.
Ride through a neighborhood and you can physically see which lawns need help. Thats a reason to knock on the door. If you ever get that homeowner on the front porch, it should be an easy sell if you know how to talk. Especially if you charging 25-35 bucks.
I have been worn several times by postmasters that either putting them on the mailbox or in the flag is technically a violation. Not sure how they do it where you’re at, but where I am in Cincinnati VA have a problem with putting them on the mailbox flag.
What are your tips for staying cool and not passing out in the summer heat? I'm drinking alot of water, eating healthy, and trying to take it easy but still get over heated out there while mowing ALOT
These 3 things help me survive. A wet towel around the neck, wearing a hat with a neck shade included, keeping a cooler in my truck so I always have ice cold beverages 😋
Which made life hell for my company..imagine cutting 100 back yards a day and having to run up 8 (sometimes 12 if there was a landing) steps...in 112 feel like temp. Who can guess where Im from? (No its not Hell....but close)
I just opened a landscaping company with my brothers we graduated HS and we want to help our dad he’s a pro at landscaping but we want to help him. And we don’t know how to handle business cards or what to say. We just got our license for landscaping and bought material but that’s all. We have given a few cards but no calls yet :/
price per new customer shouldn't just be cost per flyer, should also include the time to put them out to accurately measure whether or not your being effective
Check out Keith Kalfas, he just did this on one of his videos he put out flyers and timed the time he took from door to door and calculated this along with the flyers cost.
Another thing you can do...Sit down on a sunday and go to your county tax records website. Target the neighborhoods you want. The tax site gives you the name of the home owner and their actual mailing address of where their tax bill is sent. Direct mail them a letter to them. I bought 20 acres last year and as soon as we closed I got a direct letter from a contractor congratulating us on our purchase. He had some pics of custom homes he had built. It was extremely personable and he won me. Cost a little more but it's a direct conversation with you and the homeowner and it personable.
Sir thank you for making this video. I greatly appreciate it. Sir if I may I ask when is the earliest time of the year to put out flyers? Im in south Texas so we're pretty warm year round. Rarely do we freeze.
