At the end of a 12 hour work day, over 30 yards, and Brian is still running 125mph. Also, taking the time to give of himself to help our Lawn/Landscaping fraternity. Two thumbs up Brian!! Hard Friggin Work.
Hard work is the biggest key to success. When you worked with me at Trugreen, you worked your ass off and that was for someone else. I knew you'd build a big business once you left. I remember when you first started. I'd be watching you mow while I was spraying. It kicked me in the rear to finally make the leap and open my own business instead of working for someone else.
Well Said! I've always said that " if you don't take yourself seriously, no one else will either " Put the effort and time in and it will always pay you back
I want to thank you so much for the inspiration and knowledge. I started watching your videos 2 months ago working for 16 an hour. Im happy to say yesterday i did my first job for my own up and coming business and already have 2 more jobs lined up.
When I decided I was starting my landscaping business back in 1998 (I have since sold it and started over again) I toldf myself that no matter what I would dedicate X number of hours EVERY day doing SOMETHING positive for the company... IF there was no work I would be finding work during those hours... If I didn't have equipment I found it, cheap and fixed it and just learned day by day.... But no matter what I had to put that effort in regardless of what was going on. Unfortunately I did sacrifice way more time away from my kids than I would have liked... and I do have regrets but I know we are all more stable today because of it.
Very well put Brian. Its funny how many people say must be nice to have all that.. But what they dont know is how much we really put into all this. Yeah we mah have 50+k vehicles and god knows how much in equipment with no real stress to our pocket books but it is only becuase we work our asses into the ground day in and day out. It aint easy making it look easy ha. Keep it up brotha.
He is so right! This content is gold and he is just giving it to us for free! We tend to just listen to it while mowing or something and not treat it as what it is worth
I know a lot of guys may think that Brian may be exaggerating how much he works but over half of the videos you see are houses in my area and he is out there every day sun up to sundown, no BS. He is a bad ass when comes to work ethics and being conscientious with his customers. Another thing he should have added is honesty, be straight up with customers like he is and you will never have problems with meeting their expectations. I would rather pay Brian 10% more and know that i dont have to worry about it being done right than deal with a fight latter over what I wanted done. Anybody can cut a lawn, but not everyone is good about servicing the the customers needs and wants, communication goes a long way in keeping customers happy.
This is my first year and I do this part time. I realize that the more I am out there the more new clients I get. It is hard work but I love it. I got 4 new accounts from this one new customer all on the same block. I am working on 2 more around the corner.
This is the best video you've put out by far! Brian, you put so much truth into one video, it's amazing. People want to start up a company and automatically become millionaires. The only thing that stops me from hustling is this dang rain. Kepp on hustlin!
NICELY SAID. I have been in business for 35 years unrelated to grass. Moved to Florida and I’m going to do lawn maintenance. I am that kind of guy you talk about in your video. It’s all about hard work showing up and referrals. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this video, Brian. I'm starting out with the most basic equipment. Been doing lawn care and landscaping for years now. Thought it was time to start my own business. Take care and keep crushing it.
I knew it ! you think like my wife she’s one of the smartest person I know. This is our first season out PT and we are turning work down because we are at our max as a PT mowing company. I work a 40 hour a week job and cut in the evening and Saturday save Sunday for worship but I must admit I want to put work in every second I breath but I got a wife I love being with and 2 college age boys that we are trying to get them through college without any debt. You seem like a go getter keep crushing it and don’t worry about what people say just listen to God.
Working hard for you to get your kids indoctrinated at some communist satan-worshiping School for brainwashed Americans honestly buddy you need to listen to what the good Lord is telling you even stronger I'm sure God is giving us all signs of reality that we are living in a world dominated by Satan do not send your kids to any public school or college especially unless you want them to be indoctrinated to hate themselves and freedom and worship slavery
Won't know if you don't try. Gotta have a can-do attitude, and be a part of the contest...MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. If your not in it get into it, or find something productive that you do enjoy... There aren't any people willing to pay for a professional sideliner.
Brian. I lived in Sterling Heights 19 mile and mound for a few years a while back and I did roofing work back then now I do tree work, it’s good to see a Michigan guy doing well up there
Hey Brian. I’m 14 and run a small town yard care business with my twin! We have ran it for 5 years and now we have handed out business cards and advertised us. But the best way for me to get more and new clients is WORD OF MOUTH. We do a good job and that’s what grows us.
You are correct Brian Hard work, if you think this is easy you better think again, not to discourage anyone but is not easy, it gets easier with time and is rewarding if you have the heart and stamina
I bought an existing lawn business 15 years ago and did it all by myself for the first 2 years lol. 17 acts, townhouses, apartments n commercial. When it's yours...you grind your ass off for it. 7-9 every day all summer now it's 9-9 lol but we still grinding 💪
Brian Im a new lawn care business owner. My son and I started this business so I could teach him the value of a dollar. Your videos have been the best straight to the point real deal videos , thank you for this and all that you are doing to help the new guy.
Yeah man. Hard work is absolute key. If your gonna work hard you may as well work hard for yourself. Having a business is hsrd work but very rewarding. Keep it up man. Another thing I noticed is if you raise prices you get a more high end customer. I raised prices and I'm doing very nice lawns that need way less work. When prices were low I had overgown crap infested dirty yards. As soon as u can raise prices. I haven't seen movie yet at all bro. I literally don't have 2 hours free time. 14 hours a day all spring long
Hey Brian! Just wanted to say that your videos have been extremely helpful to me. I work full time as a paramedic in Novi, MI right next door to you. I work two 24 hour shifts a week and am trying to get my lawn care business off the ground before next season and be 100% legit. This is a WEALTH of knowledge. Between yourself, Keith Kalfas, and some other guys I feel like UA-cam and social media alone have so much FREE content. People have no idea the value in this. Hope to meet you at Keiths marketing ROI event as I learn all I can before I even start mowing our first lawn as a company
I can dig it man. It is very hard work... especially if you live in a smaller town where big names dominate! I’m just a small guy growing each year and feel Blessed each step of the way. No time for haters or excuses 💯 you have to do what the other guys aren’t doing to get the results they don’t have or take for granted. Awesome video
Thank you Brian for this video. You got me fired up enough to comment on a video because thats rare. I’m starting my business this coming summer 2021 while working full time with a boss for a lawn care business making well above 6 figures who’s going to teach me the ropes for a summer while renting his equipment. Very great deal. Well thank your for the inspiration Brain!
Good video man. Sometimes you have to forget being so nice to folks and shoot it straight like you did here. I was glad to hear you say you went to church and paid your tithes. The good Lord will bless you for that too brother. Continue working hard and getting paid!
I started mowing as a part time gig when I get off my full time job this year for the first time. I got six full time yards and never even left my neighborhood. I got five of them because the the last people didn’t show up when they should.
This is what I needed to hear today my man I have been hard on myself past several weeks with the season coming to a end and this is my first season, but there are still so many leaves dropping im ready to get out here and be relentless...God Bless you! 🙌🏾 💯
Love it I'm just starting out at 42 years of age landscaping in Australia, you are correct on every front. The only exception I would say is people don't really seem to accept flyers and just bin them here. Otherwise excellent video, love your work.
That is what I do with them, word of mouth is the best advertising, but you need to get some type of name recognition out there so you have to just do it so they see the name and become familiar with it so when they do go looking for services they will remember the one they see the most and may get you the first call. Its the package, truck logos, fliers, yard signs, park in areas where people will see your truck when you stop for lunch. People are drawn to the the things they see the most often and are familiar with.
I always come back to this video to get me refocused. I love me some Brian’s Lawn Maintenance! Thank you Brian for all you do to help fellow mowers and hard workers. #hardfrigginwork
Brian you're speaking my language this is what I tell people all the time I might not have all the equipment or Logistics but I'm out here trying to crushin it just like you guys I love videos like this keeps me motivated and to building my company better 🤑👈💪🏿
You're right you have to do the hard work I just started the lawn care business and I can only do it on weekends but I'm from 6am in the morning to sundown Just killing it
Man I really appreciate the content! It's really encouraging and inspiring to me! I just quit my job a month ago. I'm getting into lawn care full time. So please keep doing what you are doing! I love it!😃💸💸💯
Awesome video Brian. I'm starting to watch your videos because my goal is to start a lawn care business next year. Already working on flyers, equipment and so on. I work for one of the big three but it doesn't make me happy. So I plan on working my night job till I can make enough to do lawn care fulltime. Thanks for all the help.
Thanks Brian I do Lawn Care on the side just saving up some money for college. I'm actually going to Bible College and I'm going to be a pastor thank you for motivating me to work harder with what I'm going to do in my life love your videos you doing a great job.
Your energy and enthusiasm and passion in this video is unparalleled haha. Great video with so many good tips. I especially like the part about not letting negativity from un motivated people to slow you down by trying to meet their expectations.
I'm 14 and I don't open till the 20th and people already are trying to put me down and want to see me fail but I'm not letting it bug me since I know what I'm doing with marketing and I know how to set up jobs. Great video
Hey man just wanted to Thank you I just recently started my own lawn business in March I was extremely terrifying extremely scared and dealing with late payers (still am unfortunately) But seeing how you and Keith crush it End it gives me a lot of hope that one day with all the hard work I am putting in because I am just like you and Keith is far is high standards and great quality goes that one day I’ll be the one making these UA-cam videos and inspiring the next generation of lawn care business’s
I took a lawn from one of the biggest companies in Lansing today because interesting enough, they weren’t showing up and doing the work. Once you get a reputation for doing what you say your going to do and showing up the word gets around. I think just showing up is more important than even doing good work. Like you said it doesn’t matter what you look like as long as you do the job when you say your going to.
Brian love your videos man! Very informative and down to earth, Michigan was my home land now I'm living in Colorado and this is my second year, heard of yardbook from you and that made a huge impact in my business Thank you Brian, sending love from Royal landscaping & Detailing in colorado!
Amen buddy like your videos love that you want to help people and you tell it how it is I'm going full time for myself next year I get up at 7 cut my own jobs them go to my job at 2 in the afternoon till 12 at night then cut more grass of my own on the weekend thank you for what you do
The Bible says if a man doesn’t work he doesn’t eat. Keep it up Brian! I am a Jesus follower and sometimes I have to work Sundays too but guess what? I’m still saved :) just like you my man! Keep at it brother!! My business has tripled this year and I’m struggling to manage it all
Hey dude appreciate your effort on this channel. I'm a military pilot wishing I could be running a lawn care business now haha. Anyways, I caught on to your channel after watching your truck review as I've been shopping for some trucks recently. Really glad to hear the message of hard work, self-discipline and responsibility you promote. Anyways, I heard you mention church in this one and as a church-going man myself, just thought I'd encourage you with this: "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" Mark 8:36. Hard work is something to be valued for sure, and God commands it of us, but he also values our soul. I'm sure you also have heard the message Jesus gave warning us that we can't worship God and money at the same time, we can only love the one and hate the other. Just wanted to offer up some brotherly encouragement--to keep on workin hard, but not to get things out of order. Best wishes brotha
Thanks buddy for the encouragement. Our priorities are in line no worries there. Never said we love money, or sacrificing a relationship for it. Best of luck to you too
Keep up the great work Brian and watching from England I have the upmost respect for yourself and Dans Vlog as you both work really hard and make great videos
Business is booming here in Central Florida, we've been on a growth spurt for the past 2 years. If you're not making money it's because you don't want to!
You are correct my dude. Plus There is not one answer for anyone or any business. True story man.... When I started bro I went from nothing- and I mean literally homeless with tools I found in the trash and had to hand repair and in ten months - middle (June) of one season to middle of the other I went from zero customers zero dollars only the clothes on my back to grossing 150-200,000 a year (75-80 profit) and over 200 customers. That was 4 years ago. I work my fucking guts every day because I have no other choice. You will grow your fucking business WHEN YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE but to succeed. You've already failed that's why your in the position your in . You only get out of life what you put into it. These are facts. I'm starting my own channel to help teach people the hard knocks of business and what it takes to make it . Thanks for the video buddy!
Growing is easy. Maintaining it is difficult. My lawncare company maintains about 400 residential properties a cycle (10 days). If you want to grow expect a 2 percent call back/ 1 percent retained customer return on flyers/door hangers that have a price on it. If you don't put the cost on the material your call back drops significantly. If you want to gain 50 customers in a season, pass out 5000 marketing pieces. This is based on 20 years experience in Nashville.
Hi Brian. I really like your movies and your channel as well as what you do, as well as giving us ignorant advice. I have learned a lot, checking out your channel and many others who do as you do. Something I've been looking for in all of Sweden is a price list of the work to be done, yes I live in Sweden on the island of Gotland! How do you calculate the cost of a normal plot under normal conditions? Are there any undecided rules for how to count? Have you ever tried Bad Boy machines? I was a dealer before for these machines, but we did not sell any of them, they were probably a bit expensive for stingy Swedes? haha! Best regards Roger
Hi bud, we don’t see / use a lot of bad boy by us, but I know some people enjoy them. Definitely a budget light commercial brand. Mowing differs everywhere in price. Try to ask local guys what they’re charging so your rates are comparable!
At the end of a 12 hour work day, over 30 yards, and Brian is still running 125mph. Also, taking the time to give of himself to help our Lawn/Landscaping fraternity. Two thumbs up Brian!! Hard Friggin Work.
Get it man!

Austin Denney thanks brother!! You are my link to proving I’m not an actor 😂😎

You’re Not Unbalanced Bryan, You Are The Best!
This ranks 2nd only to the Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Arnold Schwarzenegger motivation videos
Listen to Matthew McConaughey. Blows all of these guys away! It's life changing hearing that man👍🤟
This is the best video you've put out by far! Brian, you put so much truth into one video, it's amazing. People want to start up a company and automatically become millionaires. The only thing that stops me from hustling is this dang rain. Kepp on hustlin!
I am 62 I just started my lawn care Business you are right hard work .
You said it perfectly! KEEP WORKING HARD! There is no quick and easy way to grow a business, because if there was everyone would.
Exactly!
I knew it ! you think like my wife she’s one of the smartest person I know.
Thanks pal! Best of luck to you guys 👊
Are you cutting residential yards on Saturdays? If so, do people seem to mind?
Working hard for you to get your kids indoctrinated at some communist satan-worshiping School for brainwashed Americans honestly buddy you need to listen to what the good Lord is telling you even stronger I'm sure God is giving us all signs of reality that we are living in a world dominated by Satan do not send your kids to any public school or college especially unless you want them to be indoctrinated to hate themselves and freedom and worship slavery
Mentioning it's your channel and you can do what you want was the best part and I love the fresh and hard love mentality uncommonly found no days
Bro I respect this, your hustle is astounding. I'm watching these trying to figure out if owning my own business is even possible.
Won't know if you don't try. Gotta have a can-do attitude, and be a part of the contest...MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. If your not in it get into it, or find something productive that you do enjoy... There aren't any people willing to pay for a professional sideliner.
Brian. I lived in Sterling Heights 19 mile and mound for a few years a while back and I did roofing work back then now I do tree work, it’s good to see a Michigan guy doing well up there
Dude! Great video. My mother raised me working 2 jobs 60 hours a week and still had time for me.
Keep kicking butt Brian
Hey Brian. I’m 14 and run a small town yard care business with my twin! We have ran it for 5 years and now we have handed out business cards and advertised us. But the best way for me to get more and new clients is WORD OF MOUTH. We do a good job and that’s what grows us.
This year has Ben the best year with the most clients!
Great work!
That so true. When you pay for something, you value it a lot more. Dude write a book! I’d buy it.
Sick Fiber Lol I am not there yet. Maybe one day.

I took a lawn from one of the biggest companies in Lansing today because interesting enough, they weren’t showing up and doing the work. Once you get a reputation for doing what you say your going to do and showing up the word gets around. I think just showing up is more important than even doing good work.

Business is booming here in Central Florida, we've been on a growth spurt for the past 2 years. If you're not making money it's because you don't want to!
Central Florida Amen!
Thanks for the video buddy!
just starting to take off with my business landscaping
Preach it brother
Growing is easy. Maintaining it is difficult. My lawncare company maintains about 400 residential properties a cycle (10 days). If you want to grow expect a 2 percent call back/ 1 percent retained customer return on flyers/door hangers that have a price on it. If you don't put the cost on the material your call back drops significantly. If you want to gain 50 customers in a season, pass out 5000 marketing pieces. This is based on 20 years experience in Nashville.
One of the best videos I’ve ever watched
Truth Brian. Keep up the good work!
You always kill it Brian !
Ricky Rodriguez lol

Abraham Vargas Sweet!
Great video! I would add WORK SMART! Customers with money and better than customers without.
Bro, say it louder for the people in the back!! 🙌🏼
