"People have differing views on mission trees. Some feel they are railroady and others like the structure they bring to the game" LMFAO what is he supposed to say to that. "Yes. That is correct. People have opinions." lol he took that question like a champ
I sincerely hope that Johan and the rest of the team go through with their original promises earlier in Eu4's dev cycle, one that I remember is that Nubia was supposed to have a dedicated mission tree that never came. North Africa could honestly still use work. Sad that colonial nations never got any substantial missions, and that Mamluks have the option to "Westernize" Into Egypt but Aztecs cant "Westernize" into Mexico. Why no unique South Africa trade company tag either? I have bittersweet feelings if Winds of Change truly is the last DLC.
My "Farewell Update" Mission trees I'd still like to see revamped in EU4: Marathas, Ireland, Silesia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Albania (Yugoslavia Formable option fore each of these with a pan-slavic path like Russia has?), Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Morocco, Tunis, North African Minors, and Tibet. It'd also be cool to see a Rapa Nui Tag in Easter Island. I think the balkans could use a little alt history like the angevin kingdom, but thats just me.
No they're not, they just railroading you more, are not ui-friendly with all the scrolling + give you op permanents claims. Before you had to soy, fabricate claims - all that work you had to do (or run into someone when a chance rises up) + fascinating awaiting of it. Now you just railroadly click things and get even more than before and more than you need. Yeah, cool.
The Venetian tree mentioned by the author kinda stands out btw, I experienced exactly what he said while playing Venice (kinda being driven by the story, learn smth interesting and new, + this culture rather than wars thing, etc), and enjoyed it.
I had no idea BigBoss was not only greek but queer as well! As a greek queer dude who has a lot of history with this game this felt special. The podcast was great and I can't wait for more talks/interviews with the devs.
As someone with 10.600 hours I can say that missions are somewhat whatever, I learnt to ignore them but 1 recent thing that made me excited to play this game was when you added several more interactions with the estates. Missions are mostly fun when you do the m for the 1st time.
Respect your opinion, but im the complete opposite. I love to do the missions and hate estates, for a long time I used the no estates mod causes estates are such a hassle.
Once we get our footing a bit (Audio better, prove our schedule is working, etc) having a random player on for an episode is something we want to do :D How this person would be selected is still something we're considering. Perhaps a raffle through discord? No promises, we'll have to wait and see!
Dear Paradox! I hope you will see this message. I kindly ask you to not name the project Caesar EU5. Call it whatever you want just dont touch eu4! 1. This will kill eu4 and you will lose the fanbase. Please continue making content for the game. We will forgive everything as long as you support the game. 2. Why can't you just switch to another engine without changing the game name, like it happened with dota2 and many others? P.s. if you kill eu4 I'll write the longest and the most detailed negative reviews on all of your games and I'm not joking. Cheers!
JuST DoNT dO iT Like people shouldn't smoke or eat anything with added sugar shouldn't eat to much meat. Yet even when you don't want to you still do. It is fucking hard to ignore that mission tree when every so often you accidently complete a thing and it goes ping heres your reward look at the next quest. GIVE US A BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF DAMNIT (If it already exists I apologise yelling can someone tell me where?)
the audio feels like it's straight from 1444
immersion!
The ottomans were at our gates
Would love to see an episode of this with someone like Lambda or another advanced player to discuss game mechanics, strategy, and that sort of thing
BIG BOSS!!!! YOH MEAN THAT LEGENDARY MERCENARY ???
BB my beloved
Achievement idea: One Province Major. Become the number 1 great power while never directly owning more than 1 province.
Please upload this also outside UA-cam. Listening to this on UA-cam costs way to much mobile data for those of us who want to listen in commuting time
We're looking into it! It'll hopefully be available outside of UA-cam soon.
Can we get this on spotify/apple podcasts please?
This is something we're looking into 😀 So hopefully very soon!
First Hawk Tuah woman, now EU4???? Podcasts are evolving
Big Boss is Bad Ass!
Verified facts.
Would be really funny if you started every podcast with the "war declared on you" sound
audio aside, that was a very interesting conversation, I'd definitely listen to more

Historical focus mission trees are great, even better now that we have branching trees.

Did you record this on a wax cylinder? I have heard WW1 recordings with greater clarity.
Jokes aside we need more of this.
have the character PNG's move when one of the person speak
Will this podcast have a feed for podcast clients?
That is the idea. We're working on it, but for now it's "UA-cam exclusive"

This available on Spotify?
Not yet. We are looking into it however, as well as other platforms. For now it's UA-cam content.

C'mon, let's at least be honest .... Missions trees don't just give a few bonuses, they give you way way too many bonuses.

I saw, clicked and disliked. Pefectly balanced, as all things should be.
