I love how with each iteration, there is always something familiar like certain animations or sounds, but then the next second the character is doing something different and not seen before. It feels like a proper evolution of a game series where the simplest thing has a renewed "wow" factor, even when it's something simple like "oh wow I can jump in a way that breaks progression and expands the level". Previous entries would have us go down and around, but now we can just walk ledges. Elements of previous games are all present from spells to even the quickstep. You have to love it.

The gameplay or the theme differences is just superficial anyway, the core is still souls and it doesn't distract from the fact that Fromsoft reused major mechanics from Sekiro to Elden Ring: Stealth, verticality, and even stance breaking from any attack depending on the damage. It's okay if you don't play Sekiro, but you don't have to justify not knowing something by downplaying it, not trying to bust your chops. If you want to cherry-pick, watch 14:15, that's a Sekiro move, down to blood theme and the animation of the Mortal Blade, not just the jump and crouch.
I totally agree with you, it's like it is a single product in constant evolution, that changes the visuals to keep you in. the base it's all there, since Demon souls, and some animations here are just a refresh up from DS1 or even straight from DS3 even. But I freaking love it each new small step in the right direction of this all "single" constant in development product that is from soft SOULS

It looks like that's the idea. I'm guessing from the 5 little guys to the one big guy that you'll be able to level up spirit slots sort of like 'attunement' in the previous games and each kind of summon will take up a certain amount of slots although that's just a guess of mine. I also heard you can level up your summons so I imagine that the amount of summons you can bring to battle and how strong they are will depend on how many resources you are willing to invest in summoning. Whether this hypothesized playstyle will be powerful remains to be seen but this game is looking extremely deep and I have high hopes.
This game makes me think the entire souls series, bloodborne and sekiro were just full length prototype games leading up to this beauty. Taking the best aspects and weapons from each game, adding a little bit of open world with dungeons from an elder scrolls game and it just looks beautiful.
I'm still amazed by thr fact that no UA-camr/Streamer talked about 20:06 on their first time watching it. From all the iconic stuff they brought back or reused, Artorias flips is one the most iconic.
I just realized in the boss fight you can see the summoned player summon a dragon head and breath fire on the boss I wonder if they’re gonna bring back dragon form. If they do hopefully it looks cool and is actually useful I’m looking at you ds3👀. Also I can’t wait to find the moonlight great sword in the game

Also, there was no health bar being shown. No hud at all. Purposely I'm sure. My point is, I've jumped off some high points in other Souls games with a full bar of health and ended up with a sliver remaining. You just couldn't see that here. I'm certain there will be fall damage.
@@Vini-zv3lr Magic in DS3 has a lot of problems, particularly in PvP. Spells cost too much stamina for one. I don't think they should cost any stamina, but there's definitely no reason one crystal soul spear should cost over half of my stamina bar when I'm already using a finite resource that I had to invest levels into as well as sacrifice estus for. Rings are another problem. There are 3 must-have rings you need to equip just to be competitive with other builds when playing a caster, leaving you only one free ring slot. Magic just isn't powerful enough to justify the sacrifices you need to make as a caster. I don't have a lot of faith that they will be much better in Elden Ring, but at least they're not reusing the same old Dark Souls 1 casting animations for sorcery again.

@@Sitri444 Magic needs a serious rework. It was both simultaneously terrible and overpowered at the same time in ds3 and rarely fun to use or play against. Passive homing soulmass, fast rolling 1-shot mage in a gank, deep soul spam, latent spells hitting through walls for half your health. Spellsword is the only elemental build I use and is 1 of my 3 favorite builds. Spells like old moonlight are what I want to see more of instead of literally 11 sorceries that shoot a single projectile while standing still.
Oh GOD I'm not looking forward to the amount of times I'm going to die to the Lord of Hands at the end there, good grief he looks like a piece of work. I can't wait, though, for some reason. I'm tingling with ... anticipation.

I want to go into the game as blind as possible. Yeah even assets I get because many are nice but animations is a bit unfortunate was hoping for new cool ones maybe a couple different nice animations. Sekiro had satisfying kills but well its still gonna be a great game

Finally some decent sorcery casting animations. They've sucked in every Souls game except Dark Souls 2.
It honestly looks like magic is getting some much deserved love. It’s been horribly neutered since DS1 (though DS2 had some good spells).

Horses are disabled in Co-Op and PVP. Same with the spirit summons.
