- It takes a lot to win over wrestling fans-even a lifetime for some. Having said that, Maxxine Dupri recently bore the brunt of it.
In one of the clips making the rounds on social media, the 26-year-old could be seen catching the ire of fans in attendance. Dupri was heavily booed out of the arena at a recent WWE live event, with some fans throwing “you suck” chants at her.

This is not the Attitude Era where women can get away with good looks and bare talent, now in the modern era where women have fought for equality, they are now expected to be beautiful and have in-ring talent. Fans want to invest in the best talent available and Maxxine needs more training from Master Gable.
Wasn’t y’all the same people the hated on Alexa Bliss when she was 1 of the most over stars on the women’s roster. The main battle is to get over with the crowd. You can do 1000 moves but if nobody cares what’s it mean? Maxine is Worst in ring performer on the roster and I agree on her but if a good looking chick like Alexa , Mandy , Liv , etc.... are over and solid in the ring then they are going to be put in a good spot

@@PhillyDove I’m talking about wrestling fans in general. People thought Alexa wasn’t a good wrestler despite her being 1 of the top popular women on the roster from 17-22. According to Forbes she was top female merch seller in 2017 & 2021. She was second in 2018 and 2020. My point is either people don’t have to a great ring worker OR alexa wasn’t as bad as fans made her out to be. I heard for years Alexa sucks in the ring on my TL. Also on my TL I see a ton of Bliss fans.
I 100% agree on what has been said about Maxine tho. I’m also not saying alyx had said anything bad about Bliss. I’m talking the “hardcore” in ring minority on social media
@@justinstevens3086 I mean, people have every right to critique whoever's wrestling abilities but there's definitely a way to do things and obviously w/ someone like Maxxine, her situation is different from an Alexa Bliss, who actually had time in NXT. Alexa's not bad in the ring but she can be rusty at time and she's definitely not one of the best in-ring that they have IMO 🤷🏽♂️ But Maxxine definitely needs more training.
@@deedydeed9379 I’m saying Alexa wasn’t a great worker in the ring but was still 1 of the most popular women in the company. Which proves you don’t you don’t have a be great to be over and a top star. Maxine is awful I agree on that. I’m saying this concept that you have to be a fantastic wrestler to be over and successful today is just a complete lie.

This has been one of the positive benefits of this so-called women's revolution where the girls have to be good inside the ring. That movement during the late 2000s in TNA and in the WWE the mid 2010s has slowly improved the quality of female wrestlers across the board. Nonetheless, Someone like Maxine needed to remain in the performance centre/NXT until she was at a decent sufficient level to wrestle on the main roster. She kinda reminds me of Dana Brooke where she has no business being on the main roster and relied on decent looks for popularity but cannot wrestle worth a lick of paint to save her life. The WWE need to stop pushing young talents way too quickly to the main roster until they are ready or had a good run on NXT.
Exactly, even though I think Bron Breakker was a year too long on NXT, it helped him develop into a very good heel, after being the face of the brand for 2 years. They thought he had to be a heel for a while for him to be fully ready, and they were right.
Examples of women:
Nia Jax was called every name under the sun for YEARS, Lita was slut shamed on national tv, Dana Brooke was literally disregard by a child fan in front of of everyone and had to keep walking
Examples of men:
They told Rock to “Die Rocky Die”, Goldberg has been criticized for his sloppy work since the 90s, Reigns was the bane of everyone’s existence whenever he came out a few years back, Cena was HATED by the fans(especially ECW 2006) and had to hold his head up.
Wrestlers have always been held accountable for their shortcomings. Thats part of wrestling. Does it hurt their feelings? I’m sure it does. But if you use that as your fuel to improve yourself, the fans will support you and you’ll become a bigger star. That’s the business guys 🤷🏾♂️
While I do feel bad for Maxxine. Where was all this energy from the locker room when Black female wrestlers got bullied? Naomi, Mercedes, Bianca, Lash Legend, and B Fab. Oh, I know. 😒 I just hope people keep that same energy.

Alyx other podcasters such as bc amplified and jdfromNY they also talked the same way how you felt about maxxine and agreed. Not maxxine but kalani Jordan had trouble with her wrestling too, I had saw NXT deadline she was very sloppy with her skills in ring, from the dive off the top rope landing on her opponent, launching off on her opponent and landed back first on the announce table she could’ve shattered her spine😣

I'm glad you made the Trish Stratus comparison. Because I see Maxine as on the edge of two options: Trish Stratus or Kelly Kelly. It sucks that she didn't get the privilege of being nurtured on NXT like other green talent, but if she want it, she can become one of the greatest baby face stories in WWE. I think she is one of the most likeable girls in the company, so if her in ring skills could match that she would be a star.

And I agree, do you know how many wrestlers male & female, who would kill to get to WWE, TNA, AEW, NWA, it's the big leagues, there's a standard, you have to take it seriously and do the work. It's not easy, you'll fall down and you'll need a good support system & yourself to keep you going. It has to start with you.
I honestly don't see the problem with people booing her, we gotta keep the same energy if this was a man or anybody else they hate like Nia Jax or Ronda Rousey. I understand this is a part of her character but if its happening on live television then the fans have every right to voice their opinion at long its not like death threats or insulting their love ones. The IWC pick and chooses what to criticize, theres never a fair discussion with them.
Maxxine is fun, but she is taking a spot from more capable wrestlers.
The fact Maxxine is on the main roster and Dragon Lee is putting on 3 star matches in NXT says a lot about how WWE sees talent.

Maxine needs to get with Chelsea ASAP. Chelsea isnt the best wrestler but she can work and they have similar body types. She can prob do some of the same moves and work the same style she has
Okay I just watched the full match on UA-cam and you can hear the same guy chanting “you suck” at Maxxine since the beginning of the match. The match wasn’t even bad it was just Nia dominating 90% of it and Maxxine getting few offense at the end. He sounds like a troll.
My guess is Maxxine took it really bad backstage. Which is why some wrestlers decided to defend her on X.
Alyx I agree, plus Rhea Ripley even said that maxxine Dupri is having trouble with her wrestling skills and that she needs to go back to NXT which damn that’s cold. But when you look at others like Tiffany Stratton she’s a former U.S gymnastic and she’s been great so far in wwe with just only 3 matches, two in SmackDown and in the elimination chamber in front of a Australian crowd then she’s already getting cheers of her performance. Maxxine couldn’t touch that cause she needs to be trained better maybe Tiffany can give her some pointers😅

She needs a move set that fits her better and she definitely needs to hit the gym harder and a serious gimmick would do her justice
It’s bad because WWE is loaded right now with stars they’ve built and talent. It makes her inadequacy stand out even more. Get her OFF THE SHOW
If I recall correctly she's had barely any wrestling training before starting and, if that's true then I feel bad for her because WWE higher ups have thrown her to the wolves by putting her out there in front of so many people when she's as green as she is.
Man, I can see poor Maxxine trying her heart out every time I see her perform. It's a shame that people stoop down to telling someone they should never come back. As a crowd, the "You suck" chant has gone around for ages and is just meant to be something to boo the Heel with. But when you take it out of that context and then put it the way this was put at Maxxine, then we've got an issue. She didn't deserve that. She's trying and with the way the dice was rolled for her, that's what matters.
Fuck that. People are paying lots of money to be at those house shows. They can boo whoever the hell they want.

I do agree that she needs to be in NXT but I feel like it's too late for her to be in NXT right now because she's so good with Alpha Academy and idk it would feel odd to not have Maxxine with the Academy. Also they aren't gonna put Alpha Academy in NXT idk I just feel like they shouldn't have told her to put on the wrestling boots and just stick to being the Alphas manager
Someone like Roxanne Perez as great as she is has been on nxt for almost two years that should be on the main roster. Yet Maxine Dupree is when she should be in nxt.
I wish i there was a performance center to get wrestling training when i got into liking wrestling or my school had a wrestling team or that i was young to be able to do it now. People like Maxine are so fortunate to have the opportunity to even train and learn at that level when back in the day i don't even know how most these wrestlers we love were trained. I think some just started and learned as they went on but they had that excuse. But now its too many ways to get training and know how to wrestle before even wanting to be seen on tv. If i was her or anyone else still learning i wouldn't even let them put me on tv or in front of a audience that isn't nxt. Look at my girl Roxanne Perez, she got trained by Booker freaking T and went through the indies for years and is still in nxt after 2 years and she hasn't been on live wwe tv besides the royal rumble. Yet Maxine is on the main roster?
if they were time warped back to ECW, they'd be having a mental breakdown every week. Male wrestlers dealt with this all the time. I guess you cant boo women wrestlers because….you just can’t…okay!

Maxxine reminds me of Lana both beautiful blondes who started off as managers but but cannot wrestle I think John laurinatis before he left brought her to the main roster.
I always liked Maxine. Outside of the ring she seems like the Sweetest person ever. To me she is better of as a manager because as a wrestler. Just no thanks also i hate the fact that WWE wasted a royal rumble spot with Maxine.. Maxine out of all people when that spot could of been given to someone like? Kiana James Blair Davenport? Umm your nxt Women's champ and who just beat Becky not too long ago Lyra Valkyria ? Lash Legend Eventhough she's just not my cup of tea and i hate the fact Just like in the UFC when all of the sudden Manel kape. Wwe decides to waste a spot with Maxine out of all people. Hell there are plenty of women in NXT that would be better off on the main roster than Maxine. Plenty of talented women like Lyra. Kiana. I strongly dislike this exodus of being a valet. Like why does every woman on the roster have to be a wrestler? This is why the women's division is boring. Give us a variety. WWE discovered that AEW didn't have infrastructure to train green talent. Jade never got better because she never got pushed passed her squash matches for the TBS Title. She needs more time in developmental.
