In a company that has Jeff Jarrett, Jim Ross, Dustin Rhodes, and DDP, we cant get good, consistently booked stories that have a small bit of old school glue, but for modern audiences? Those dont have to be the key 4, but they're among the plenty that can be slotted in to help Tony make some of the harder decisions he needs to make to improve the main shows.
How about doing a brand split like WWE's doing. Get writers for Dynamite, get writers for Collision, and get writers for Rampage. Don't get the same writers for all of the shows. Get separate writers to compliment the shows.
Dynamite could be the wrestling show. Don't make it all about the wrestling. But it could be a perdominant thing.
Collision could be based on storytelling. Segments over wrestling.
Rampage is the developmental brand. Guys who are trying to get their feet wet or aren't doing anything on television could be on that show.
Have brand exclusive PPVs like WWE used to do. If you're doing monthly PPVs, then 6 of those shows will be brand exclusive. If you're doing 10 PPVs, then 5 of them are brand exclusive.
Titles:
Dynamite:
Main Event: AEW World Title
Mid Card: Continental Title
Tag Team: Trios Titles
Addition: Women's World Title
Collision:
Main Event: FTW Title
Mid Card: International Title
Tag Team: Tag Team Titles
Addition: Junior Heavyweight Title (Anyone under 225lbs.)
Rampage:
Main Event: TNT Title
Addition: TBS Title
Show Time:
Dynamite:
Wednesdays from 8-10/7-9c
Rampage:
Fridays from 7-8/6-7c
Collision:
Saturdays from 7-9/6-8c
They could do a brand split, but the thing is they don't have the star power to do so. The only stars they have are Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega, Okada, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, The Young Bucks, Will Ospreay, and Mercedes Moné. 10 stars isn't enough for a brand split. During the post-Monday Night War Era, WWE had at least 15-20 stars on their roster.
@@hamthemammothhamster839Frankly I would highly question the “star” status of the Bucks and Okada (in America). The Bucks in particular don’t move the needle, or often move it in the wrong direction, and whatever star potential Okada may have is being squandered by his association with them.
I like the idea I think the continental classic title should be main title and tnt should be mid card title for collision
@@FrederickW12 I respect your opinion.
The general conversation around AEW, is one lacking neuance. There are positives in the weekly programming. But it's going to take time for them to shake some of the negative perception around them. If they get through the 2nd half of the year with consistent TV and no PR gaffs will go a long way.
There's no direction. The wrestling is good, and I love Okada, Osperay, among other wrestlers. But the storytelling is all over the place. There's no clear Beginning, Middle, and End.
This is the PERFECT reason of most of AEW's woes. As you said, the in-ring product is fantastic, but there is no reason to care about any wrestler outside the ring.
Perfectly said.
Perfectly said!
Your response no offense is exactly the problem
Well said. That’s the thing it’s just wrestling match after wrestling match with no build ups or heat to any of them
It proves that some of those wrestlers weren’t the draw Tony Khan thought they were and some of them just need to retire
I love ur passion but alot of the people u named are on there fair well tours and when ur main scene is the wanna be NWO is why they are not in WWE’s league. 5 guys and 3 of the woman in AEW are legit in ring and on the mic
You sir are a realist
Because the match is like 2nd or 3rd most important things that is in it is you need to have good production and good story lines.
I'd say dropping two PPVs to bi annual might be a good move or making them overseas shows maybe.
Ratings just came in and yikes. It’s BAD bad.
Only reason this company ever existed is because the fans were mad at wwe
Please don't quote me because did not say this, but a good front of mine said this to me the other day.
He said basically that Tony Khan is like the Donald Trymp of professional wrestling because he does not think before he speaks, especially when he said WWE is the Harvey Weinstein of professional wrestling.
The truth is that AEW has a lot of potential but it does not have a long-term vision. You can blame anyone else for AEW's problems, but the main problem is Tony Khan. Tony Khan has made some questionable comments and decisions that have caused his perception to take a massive hit. To say that AEW needs help is an understatement.
Dynamite and Collision need to have separate rosters and identities. When you go to a WWE show, you know who is going to be there. With AEW and how they market themselves, you are not going to want to spend money on people who are not guaranteed to be there. Dynamite needs to be the show that caters to the modern wrestling fans while Collision caters to the old school fans. Collision needs to start airing at 6 PM Central Time.
Get rid of Rampage and Battle of The Belts. Rampage to me is basically their version of WWE Main Event. Nothing major has happened on the show since the first two episodes. Battle of the Belts is just unnecessary and titles rarely change hands on the show.
If Ring of Honor will be around, it needs its own team of writers and producers and someone else running day-to-day operations. Similar to how Triple H runs the main roster and Shawn Michaels runs NXT. It can be the feeding system to AEW. Ring of Honor has a lot of history as stars such as CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Nigel McGuiness, and Adam Cole just to name a few. Since it molded that generation of talent, ROH can mold the new generation that will be on the level of its predecessors. I'm not too fond of the idea of wrestling companies shutting down because it lessens the options for employment for wrestlers.
Fewer PPVs. They only need Revolution, Double or Nothing, Forbidden Door, All In, and Full Gear.
Smaller Buildings for weekly shows (1,000 seats), bigger buildings for PPVs (10,000+). It will make the PPVs more special.
Cut talent. The people who have disciplinary problems and have been suspended multiple times need to be cut. People who are not taking steps to improve and are complacent need to be cut also. This will motivate wrestlers to get better if their spots are in danger of being lost.
Give over-exposed wrestlers time off. People like Chris Jericho need time off. When people are chanting for that wrestler to retire or go away, they need to get off TV immediately to make the crowd miss them.
I'm in an AEW Facebook group and ratings are brought up weekly. Of course you have group members who say the ratings don't matter. They obviously have no clue on how TV works. Shows get canceled on networks and on cable for low ratings. AEW needs a complete writing team for story lines. They can't leave everything just up to Tony and a few of the wrestlers. If they don't start doing at least that they ain't going to last on TNT or TBS. They'll end up small cable channel mutch lake impact did.
Aren't they giving aew another show. Sounds like you guys don't want aew on tbs and tnt
Or they just need to swtich to Streaming. Worked WONDERS for WWE.
@@masonsteele6248exactly,they want to see AEW fail, but the fans of WCW wanted the WWE to fail and look what happened
@@masonsteele6248 they didn’t give them another show, they gave them a UA-cam talk show with Renae and RJ City. That is literally the only thing they’re willing to commit to right now.
@@clickphasegang that is something. Sounds like they will be together for the long haul
I think of the negative tribalism in wrestling like the Maga movement. It's a weird ass cult that lives in their own little world with alternative facts.
This ☝🏽
What's maga
Get over it maga is going to win regardless what happens
Just Alyx Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
TNA & Jeff Jarrett wish to have the advantages that AEW have now..AEW is blowing it with all the advantages they have to be a great wrestling promotion. But it's not happening.
Dixie Carter > TK
At least Dixie’s company got 2 million TK can’t even scratch a million
they can use rampage as their sunday night heat for ppv's but i agree on what your sayin
Indie style wrestling don’t bring in the viewers or ticket sells I’m not saying copy what WWE doing but what attracted me to wrestling back in 98 was good promo/storylines most of the storylines in AEW are mid also too many wrestlers too keep up with keep 60 -75 wrestlers so the viewer can get too know them
13:24 I give content to another content creator King Mike's World🌎
because here one basically said Tony Khan is what's wrong with AEW.
But he says a lot of things that. He sounds like he's off his rocker on certain wrestlers, Mercedes Mone.
I watched it all.
I watched it all😊
Saraya is a former AEW Woman's World Champ! How is she not on tv! 😀

- AEW EVP is Bryan Danielson
- ELITE EVP is The Young Bucks
- AEW CEO is Tony Khan and Shahid Khan is the financial backer
- ELITE CEO and financial backer is Mercedes Moné
- AEW commentary: Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone
- ELITE commentary: Ian Ricaboni, Caprice Coleman, and Nigel McGuinness
All that with no flow or function….Chaos
You're creating 5 new belts when disingenuous people insist they got to many belts.
Young man, you gotta be realistic. AEW is done, there's nothing they can do to right this ship. The chance to be a viable alternative has came and went, they're just just a high TNA now
They've said this about TNA over and over again. AEW ain't there, at least not yet.
Agreed this should be proof indie wrestling is for a small demographic not sustainable for mainstream television the ratings says it plain as day
It's not too late the right things just need to happen. Will it? You say no I say maybe.
Yeah, it’s kinda a little late to call it quits. Let’s just see what happens, even if things look a bit bleak…
@@pheshy92next 2 years are massive for this company.
I agree with 90% of this but two things that I want to point out is imo I don’t think aew could ever pass wwe in views like yea it’s down in veiwers now but even when it was the best show in wrestling it wasn’t close to wwe so I feel like a million should be our goal not to pass wwe
Let's Go Mint Mobile 😂
I watched it all
Alex bruh, Tony overdid it. There's like 7 shows now plus PPVs! The man's exhausted & needs refuel. While HHH jokes about a future AEWWE.. or is he
Tony need to stop signing more talents because, in the end, they get lost in the shuffle. Didn't triple h called aew a piss ant company? I don't care if tony is a good person when you talked to him, but after his actions on Twitter, he is just a horrible person.
It doesn't help that the owner is a tool. He started and continues to fan the flames of tribalism. WWE is good enough where unfortunately a lot of fans feel it is no longer needed/cool.
Calling aew a t-shirt company before it even started. That is tribalism
You can throw out all the names you want, but the one name causing the downward spiral is the one at the top, the one in charge, Tony Khan.
They need to hire Scott Dmore desperately Tony can't do it all anymore.
I disagree about "at all". This the same dude that booked Punk vs MJF, Hangman vs Omega, MJF and Adam Cole (before they both got hurt), Hangman vs Swerve, Swerve vs Joe, Ospreay vs Danielson, etc. Dude CAN book, the issue is that he can't book the entire shows by himself. He SHOULD hire someone like Scott D'Amore so that he can take some of the heavy load off of TK's shoulders.
@@kennythetrend3688 Tony is not a Booker he's a Match Maker
@@kennythetrend3688 Punk and MJF booked their storyline (Punk had creative control), and MJF/Adam Cole was elementary school tier (who's friend are you? Really?).
He can't book, but the only reason AEW exists is so he can play booker. He'll shut AEW down before he hands the book to anyone, including D'Amore.
Yeah Im gonna say AEW is done! MJF is injured long term, Stark's is leaving, a bunch of old guys and has beens! Swerve could be something but they will go with Ospreay, who nobody knows. Getting over equals burial and Khan will eventually book Orange Cassidy to be World Champ! 😂
They’re going to blame SWERVE for this bs though him and a select few are what’s making AEW as watchable as it may be . They need MJF back too. Him and swerve will do numbers
I’ve said this about AEW since the very beginning 5 years ago.
AEW need to market their product to the casual audience.
As long as AEW continues to market their product to a niche IWC audience, AEW will continue to decline.
Sports Entertainment >>>>>>>>> In ring Wrestling
AEW has a lot of holes that needs to be fixed, but the major thing that's wrong with AEW is Tony Khan. I know it's his money and he wants to be involved. But he's not what's right for the business because he doesn't know how to run a rustling business. He needs a hire.Somebody else to run the business and he could just be the financials behind it.
Keep watching AE W Alyx, so I don't have to .
Alyx I’m just saying…an AEW Cleanse could work if it gets worse…and I’m just saying…the brand where the champions in Yellow is doing pretty hot right now…just saying NXT Reviews returning could be a good idea.
But yeah…I feel like New Bookers & a Full Brand Split would be a good idea like Punk wanted to do.
Geeat honest video more 🙏 🙏 🙏 ☝️☝️☝️
Damn why do you pay $50 for AEW pay per views for? Here are the main problems with AEW. You have too many titles on wrestlers I don't even know or care about. The Storylines are boring & they wrestle way too much on the shows & pay per views.
31:46 Basically less is always more
It is not gonna change. I repeat. It will not change unless tony khan isn’t the owner.
Yeah, cause TK isn't the reason for ANY of AEW's success right 😂? Like dude, he just needs help by having more bookers to help with the show. If he does that, then the show will most likely improve due to him not bearing all the weight.
He’s not a grown up. He’s a nerd who’s doing this as a hobby. Numbers don’t lie.
AEW is built on failure and people try to sell this as something hot. You've got WWE rejects, indy guys and now all the popular NJPW. But none of these guys really know how to get over. Even before AEW took all the NJPW stars NJPW was struggling to get 2000 people to their house shows. Indy guys are indy guys. No one cares. Finally WWE rejects were released from WWE for a reason. Why? Because they couldn't get over. Even Edge/Adam Copeland was legacy over. His current character wasn't over in WWE. He was/is a legacy star who could pop a crowd under special circumstances.
Finally WWE could care less about the AEW roster.
Also? When MJF comes back they should immediately start the bidding war of 2024 storyline
I guess i have to keep saying this aew needs to get rid of tk if they do aew will be better cuz tk is the reason this is happening just get rid of him
Yes. Get rid of the guy who has not only funded, but booked some of the BEST MATCHES and Storylines in modern Pro Wrestling history. Now do I think things should stay how they are? Absolutely not, they DO need a change with booking and marketing, but you don't need to get rid of TK to do it. You NEED to have more than 1 guy booking the shows, so hiring someone like Scott D'Amore would be PERFECT because that could potentially take off HALF of TK's workload, because the only reason the booking hasn't been the greatest is due to fatigue and lack of MULTIPLE great stories at once. Because if you actually pay attention at least to most of the Main Event feuds, TK has booked them TREMENDOUSLY WELL. The issue is that he neglects almost EVERYTHING ELSE on the show. Which is where someone like Scott D'Amore can pick up the slack and make it strong.
@@kennythetrend3688I think Tk needs a creative team that he oversees so he doesn’t get overwhelmed which he obviously is
Good afternoon,, I am an aew fan 🪭. But I'm different. I do not treat aEw differently than anything else I support.. if I have issues as fans we hold ownership responsible! That's what more of us need to do
They just need to switch to Streaming. The ONLY REASON why the ratings are "bad" is because most of us have jobs to work, or simply don't have the time. If they swtiched to streaming, they'd EASILY get a Million Viewers every Dynamite every week. Like I said, traditional TV DOESN'T WORK for most shows. Even if WWE is doing well, that's only due to being established. Almost EVERY show that is relatively new has struggled due to more and more people streaming. Once they make that jump whether it's their own App or HBO Max, they gonna do better.
Sure that’s the reason ... maybe if they were more interesting, entertaining, and compelling , they would have a lot more intrigue from casuals. They’re done.
@@therealwyatt3597 Doom and gloom over a couple months of kinda shit ratings. Nah dude, it ain't done unless it's DONE cause WWF also had a REAL POSSIBILITY of going out of business in 1995. Yet look where they are now. TNA has CONSTANTLY been said to go out of business for the last 20 years yet they're still here.
@@kennythetrend3688 what channel is TNA on and what is ratings like
@@therealwyatt3597like you said. They’re done 😂
Then why is the NFL getting ratings then??? If everyone switch to streaming why does the ratings for NFL go up???
I'm sorry, but why is AEW helpful to wrestling? They've drained NJPW and destroyed a once-vibrant indie scene with Tony's compulsion to sign every wrestler with a pulse, they've scooped up damn near every WWE castoff out there, and have ruined the image of non-WWE wrestling for the forseeable future. How is NOT having them fail good? I'd rather the talent go back into the indie ecosystem, back into NJPW, back into companies that know what the hell they're doing for the level they're in. So yes, yes I want AEW to fail, because they've damaged wrestling more than a hundred WCWs.
