Honestly the guitar tone doesn't even sound that bad. It's a good tube compressed high gain metal tone. Now, if he would have said the same thing to describe Swedish Death metal Boss Hm2 tones then I would be inclined to agree more. Not even going to bother ragging on him and his band. Sincerely not my taste, he just needs to get over himself.

Is that they're only Kylie Jenners watching this video or what? he has a more fine vintage kind of music taste. All the good things as: jazz, r&b, country and specially... blues. Obviously he was going to say those things about the crappy artificially overproduced music nowdays. One Republic is one of the most comercial bands indeed. The beggining of the song was ok bcz it was a nice acoustic pattern of chords and that's why he though it wasn't that bad, but it sounded too produced. The one from Norah Jones is a nice jazzy and soft melody but maybe was a bit plane and simple for him. Some people just don't like Metal. The final one... "Perfect illusion"... that riff sounds super robotic like if it was made actually by using the guitar samples that come with fl studio by default...definitely superproduced...besides has that 80´s pop madonna vibe all over it... how could you think Pat was going to enjoy that?

No that album was sick. There's just times where I think he falls asleep on the kit. It's okay I suppose but he slips in timing a fair few times as well! That being said Patrick's other work is great.
It's called 'dynamics'. You don't always need to be on the nose of a 4/4 count, you might as well get a drum machine then. A little bit of syncopation with the drumming goes a long way and adds character. I don't think you know much about drumming tbh

This is the first video I have ever disliked on UA-cam. One musician putting down the work of fellow musicians? You just don't do that. I will never buy another Black Keyes record.
It's not just that. It's also the fact that he's acting like his music is really good and of a high caliber. While all the music he doesn't like is deemed not good, mainly because it's popular.
People could say he's joking, but I doubt it. Patrick has a history of bashing other musicians and claiming his music is better. I'm not surprised though. Patrick is like a god to the hipster-indie crowd, so all that attention is feeding his ego.
