Wasn't this uploaded two years ago? Why is it being put up again?
yea thanks for saying this. This was giving me some serious deja vu
There was a recently established copyright claim against it that caused the video to be muted, making it essentially unwatchable. We reposted it so it would still be available.
oh damn thats dumb. Thanks for making re-available for us again.
That sucks. Thank you for reuploading this! I love this series so much btw
@@amoeba Its like these kids have never been on youtube before. Thanks for the great video - its got fantastic editing and audio.
"a friend of mine, who I ended up actually getting married to, and divorced from"
I'm fixing to die from laughing so damn hard.
Pats hilarious
This video should be called: the father of Patrick Carney from the Black Keys
hahahaha
the uncle of patrick carney*
Well we all have some levels of daddy issues. To be fair.
Why?
Dads pointing the way to good music might be our one job
"And it goes din ding din diggi ding ding din din ding din diggi din ding that's how their's goes, ours goes din ding din diggi ding ding tss din din ding din diggi din ding"
carney your dad did you a major solid.
Him liking Modest Mouse made me like him more
Captain Beefheart very much deserves a new audience. People need to do themselves a favor.
Mrsilenciobackgammon agreed, the lack of beefheart mention in the comments is a bit disturbing
Eeeeeelectricty!!!!😉👌⚡
I agree, but... I'll still take Howlin Wolf first.
Fast! Fast and bulbous! Tight, also.
@carlrosenzweig1867 I never delved into the Captan. I am a fan of Zappa. His autobiography was insightful.
bojack baby
one of the best "what's in my bag?" I've watched so far.. maybe because I'm obsessed with T.Rex too
Remarkable number of artists on here picked T Rex as one of their in my bag selections
he looks like a grown up mclovin'
Lmao true
holy shit yes
Beat me to it
Thats so awesome his dad said hold up ima show you some real music *pulls out zeppelin II*
yesss finally. I've loved the black keys for so long. I've always wanted to see Pat on this.
a video of the drummer of my fav band on my birthday, thanks.
Love how much you can hear T-Rex on their new album (deff in Lo/Hi), the album art is the same as well
Great taste in music!
Every time I watch one of these videos I say to my self shit I don't know jack about good music
We all get to learn a little something every time. It makes it fun!
he doesn't either it's aight
@@borohhh I'm soo glad you never got a like in 7 months. It let's me know I don't just share this world with nothing but morons.
@@jvadoptante congrats no one gives a shit
0:51 you can copy my homework but not word for word
So fascinating how he talks about his taste vis a vis his father's.
black keys were my first band that i knew about before they blew up
your dad sounds fucking awesome pat
Excellent choices! 👍👍👍
"went to the library to get the zep record"....huh
His dad did the exact same thing I did for my 11 year old son. As a former professional drummer I’ve passed down my musical tastes to him. Ironically I have and love all of those same albums.
Pat carney thanks for the stories
T.REX
Great picks
Can, Captain Beefheart OK.!!!
i made him a sandwich once.
What kind? Hopefully a Reuben. Def one of the dopest sandwiches.
I wish I was you.
yyouthcanoee What's the context of that situation?
yyouthcanoee Did you wash your hands first?
I'm surprised he didn't include the White Stripes in there as a joke, it seems like his sense of humor.
3:37 He's talking about Denise Grollmus and she actually recounts buying the record he's talking about: www.salon.com/2011/03/03/grollmus_divorce_from_black_keys/ It's kind of a heartbreaking story.
yes...modest mouse gets in tha bag
modest mouse and t. rex. bless u
Dude is uniquely attractive ..... and I like that he likes his dad 😊
0:51 lmfao IDK why that made me laugh but that was mad silly 🤣
Definitely did not expect modest mouse
The drums on Black Submarine is definitely Zeppelin-inspired.
heey aren't you the horse from horsing around?
Patrick Carney is a cool guy. This actually is the first time I hear him talking. Nice taste in music too. :)
I got an uber eats commercial with Patrick from X Men...
modest mouse
that intro music is also intro music from animated Netflix show about the horse dude. I forget what it's called, lol
Elwood P. Dowd it's bojack horseman and pat wrote that song
Leoti did he really?! That's awesome
Blue Cheer's Vincebus Eruptum is a better record than anything the black keys have ever done
Daddio kept him sane.
I remember when I first heard Modest Mouse I thought they were gonna be huge like Nirvana. they got big but never number one, or beat Micheal Jackson haha
What is the opening song from? Where is it from? I love the sound of the strings or the synth or whatever that is.
Bojack horseman intro. Patrick composed it.
I own all but two of those records. He has good taste. 😎
1:35 lol that's such an underacheiver thing to say.
Blue fucking Cheer hell yeah
He likes CAN, oh my fucking god.
Vanilla Ice tried; that was cute lmao
We need a long form podcast with Patrick
his voice tho
Patrick Carney and Hamilton Morris look a lot alike👍
He looks like John K
What's the music at the beginning and at the end?
Bojack horseman theme song
Bojack horseman
Man his pops hooked him up by turning him onto the old school shit that you’ll NEVER hear on free radio.....my uncles were the 1s who turned me onto Black Sabbath,Zeppelin,AC/DC,Montrose,ZZ Top,Van Halen, etc.
His Instagram is the weirdest acc ever
Andrew Marquez Hilarious tho
I'm a millionaire I'll make your album.Patrick Desperate Carney.
this guy is walking ambien
BoJack Horseman
what's in my bag ??? some weed
shit its best What's In My Bag
Dude needs a metronome in his bag.
HAHAHA.
That's part of his style tbh.... made the old stuff amazing hearing dan slowing down/speeding up those blues riffs to match pat
Cool guy, good, classic picks of course. But many musicians mistakenly turn the title of the series into "my favourite records of all time(or those that influenced me most" - instead of really discovering some new music for themselves and presenting it to the audience. This episode's just an example.
I don't know why you made up some rules here, but this series is simply called "What's in my bag ?".
I don't know either cause I'm not making up any rules.Just saying what I recognized in many episodes. There are also nice examples where you see they're really into digging some new stuff.
But how would they know if the new music was good or not without listening to it?
Did you never buy a record just by the cover, the name or the label? ;-)
"Jesus Never Fails, The Happy Tones" Lol what?
Vanilla Ice!
Like, like, like, like.....for fucks sake!
I thought it was McLovin in the thumbnail, damn clickbait
Wow really uninteresting set of records imo. But best of luck to him, good stories behind them.
What’s with the fuckin close ups camera dude? 😫
All great releases but I can't believe he didn't already own those albums.
Ben NG haha he said in the beginning that he already has these
Ben NG
Someone's not listening
0:04.
Listening is hard.
Fair enough. I didn't hear him say that.
young Bernie Sanders
Already watched this one. It's not new.
No duh. Read the Description.
Adam Jorden let me guess, you read descriptions before you watch the video. wow you are so cool
Instead of posting that you already watched it and saying it's not new you could have simply read the little blurb right below the video that had the pertinent information.
He looks like he can be on Austin powers
Sell out
He's rich af and he can still make some fire music if he wanted
in his bag are The white stripes /jack white albums. because the black keys style rips jack white off big time.
ponrix the whites stripes and the black keys have the same rock and blues influence that's why they have a similar sound. They both listened to the same bands when they were young. That's why they are both playing blues-rock with a vintage sound. But the black keys didn't rip off jack white.
ponrix You're one of those morons?
Neutral Milk Motel
Neither did TBK.
Micah A. that's a good joke
Neutral Milk Motel Not a joke, but whatevs
Using LZ to introduce your kid to music after complaining about sampling makes no sense... None of the music was theirs
none of it? lol. even the stuff they "plagiarized" was done in a way that nobody did before them. so what if they borrowed a couple of blues riffs, Do you understand how commonplace that practice is in blues music?
I think most would agree when presented with the specific instances that they "borrowed" a little too liberally.
So how's that Wells Fargo gig going? The Black Keys are complete trash.
No White Stripes? But you already have a piece of their music in every one of your songs.
Captain Beefart and Frank Zappa grew up as neighbors as kids...fun fact.
No white stripes???????? harsh bro.
