Think if trawling like dragging a plastic bag in water. DP#1 and DP#2 are the handles, you want them at same height for the bag to open. Also, you want to keep 5knots speed manually, because when the net gets too full, you lose speed. Going too fast will break the bags handles, going too slow wont open the bag, because it cant fill with water. Also, if u go to 80% or more, just stop the ship and reel in, it shouldnt break.

Also to stop "fishing" when your hauling, bring the "door's" together, closing the mouth of the net.

Do not use autopilot, set a straight course at constant speed of 2,5 knots for smooth trawling. Stop engines when the net is full. Best results.

The reason your auto pilot is not working is because your thruster is on. It's that very tiny white line on your propeller HUD.
It's not on that just shows the direction of it currently you have to hit the button to engage.
