Wow, so much construction going on! 🏗 It's interesting to see all the changes happening in St. Helier. That bit about the 'Happy to Chat' benches was heartwarming too 😊.
A walk that brought back a few memories of the hotels that I have stayed The Norfolk Lodge (14:00 )and my favourite stay in town The Inn (16:40) fab breakfast at The Inn 👍👍👍hotel car park nearby was always full if you came back late at night ☹☹everybody is moaning about the rain here but its better than snow😄and should be lush green fairways when eventually get the chance to play 🤔🤔Good Luck on the next video Tom looking forward as usual to watching and finding time to catch up on all the past one's.
Too true Lloyd, I must admit I've been moaning about the weather for months but I suppose it could be a lot worse. Always look on the bright side huh! At least the Norfolk Lodge is still going strong! 👍🏻
Yes well the weather looks cold, same here, just watching the sun coming out so that's my que for a walk as long as I get well wrapped up, I hate being cold, the rain never seems to stop these days, have a nice day.
There is so much of St Helier we haven't explored but we have been through Millenium Park! That was some climb at the end, Tom. I remember we climbed up to Fort Regent once (never again!) 😂
😮 wow scaffolding houses for sale I can see why a Very busy road Tom is that the A9 or 14? So much has changed and will do so in the near future on your beautiful island iv missed paddy 🐕🥩🦴 this weekend how is Callum and Jess hope they are still doing well with their New jobs 👍 well my friend thanks for the 📹 great to see the old stomping ground lol all the best John 😃 😊😊
Hi John, A14 buddy! I've missed Paddy too........he's coming around first thing tomorrow though and if the weather is OK we'll be off and out! Callum and Jess are both doing great although we are all a bit hung over today as we went to a wine tasting and dinner at the golf club last night! I've never seen so much wine! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷💥
Thanks for the tour Tom, I don’t think I have ever seen that so much scaffolding in town even when i lived in Jersey. A question Tom do you know out of the 195 homes how many will be social housing as not everyone can afford to buy. Whenever we went on holiday and would meet people they always said you must be well off living in Jersey and you don’t pay tax and I had to put them on the right track. We know how lucky we were buying at the right time and selling our first house for a good profit to move up the ladder and the same with our friends. I know property has never been that cheap in Jersey but it seems to have gone through the roof just now. Anyway enough going on about it I hope you can get some golf in, 17:51 and as for here would you believe next week it’s in the mid twenties mad weather. Cheers until you next video.
Hi Nic, I'm not sure about that site but on the larger sites just over the road there is a lot of social housing. Andium Homes seem to have been on a massive building schedule over the past few years as well as making improvements to existing housing projects. Like you I got in early enough and paid off my house years ago. The housing market has actually experienced a drop over the past six months, or so, but you can be sure prices will head back up again soon! I've got a busy week planned for golf this week, La Moye on Tuesday and Royal Jersey Thursday and Friday so I'm hoping for some Spanish weather! 🌞🌞🌞
Thanks for the reply Tom, I'm glad that Jersey is looking after people who need social housing and its the same here in the area where I live. In the village 3 km from our house they build social housing for the locals in the village which is a good thing and I have to say the Spanish do look after thier own. Play well this coming week and I hope the weather is kind. I have two comps to play this week and looking forward to them. Cheers Tom @@thereluctantoutdoorsman
Over the last few years seems to be two lots of scaffolding going up for every one coming down, lots and lots of rebuilding since my first visit nearly forty years ago, some for the better, bus mostly St.Helier becoming more a generic anywhere else town, especially if out of sight of the landmarks Edit: Regarding the scaffolding… how much is still ongoing repairs from the storm damage caused last November
I agree with you entirely, St. Helier is losing some of its' character with all the new builds. Oh and you are probably also correct about a lot of the scaffolding being for storm Ciaran repairs. There weren't many roofs that escaped unscathed!
😮 wow you lucky family lol 🍷 all the best John 😊😊😊
