Panama is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. With a rich history, fascinating culture and a variety of historic sights, Panama is the perfect vacation destination for you and your family.
We are from NYC and spend at least 7 months a year in Panama. Life for us is so much better here. Panama opened it’s loving arms, gave us a hug and we knew we had found home. Visitors and foreign residents just need to be mindful of the local culture and their concerns. We live here with respect and gratitude for making us feel so welcome. It’s our heaven on earth.
That's one that people hunting for a new home have in common. They know when they've found it. There isn't any middle ground. Wishing you and yours the best!

Yes! It’s great for those who know nothing about travel, and the fact that many “black people”, have traveled for years. It’s always good to remove oneself from subculture community dwellings and learn more. Brown faces have always traveled the world.
You guys have a very unique artistic filming style. Top notch music and attitudes. That's why you've gone so far. Keep it up y'all. Hope to catch up with you in our travels one day.
There’s so much more to Panama my home! The places mentioned are fairly new. You should visit the canal, true black Christ and other areas outside of the city. Panama used to be a wonderful place growing up in the 70s and 80s. There were many activities last week celebrating black ethnicity.
Rondel and April you guys are amazing and you are doing your thing. I watched this video 2x. Love how wherever you go you get to know the locals and show support. I’m personally against Gentrification for the obvious reasons but in support of it for what it will bring to cities, states etc such as tourism and economic growth for local businesses that are able to withstand and compete with the larger business. It’s unfortunate many people will suffer and possibly increase homelessness. Take care! Stay safe 🙏🏾 With that said I will be adding Panama to my list 😀
I've just been there for two weeks trying to understand if it could be the right place to relocate with my family. I've been amazed by the city and its skyline but I had loved the most Albrook and Clayton area with their beautiful houses surrounded by that tropical and unstoppable nature.
Hi guys 👋🏽 I have a friend who's from Panama I've been there since 2018 and the city is fabulous, we didn't stay the small town where she grew up we stayed in the touristy areas, the restaurants and shops are amazing, took alot of pictures ate alot places we did little shopping, did some seenery etc.. to me Panama it was a beautiful place and it is safe, took back all those memories back to Chicago. As a Panamanian raise in America a great word would be along the lines of "bridge". As it bridges everything in the Americas together not just physically. Maybe just all-encompassing. But I absolutely agree with your words as well. Great video, glad you stayed safe!
Great, great video!! We visited Panama City during a layover, but like yall said, only a stopover. It wasn't long enough. Would love to go back and experience the fullness of the city. Looking forward to your next video. 🙂
Thanks for hanging out and enjoying the vid guys! It's def worth a little time and we are looking fwd to going deeper and showcasing this country. Thanks again for rolling with us!

Chicago had (still has?) programs for displaced residents due to gentrification: High rises built with state funds had to allow at least 10% of the apartments to be Section 8. So, someone paying 3k/mo. lives next door to someone paying $700 for the same apartment. Needless to say, there’s always a waitlist those meeting the low income requirements. Thank you for showing us this side of Panama City. The Yarbros are like a box of chocolates -you never know what you’re gonna get😊
I respect how the states deal w/ gentrification....when communities rise up and make noise. We're asking around to see if they have any similar programs here.
I used to work at a women's shelter and housing directors would move very attractive homeless women to the front of that waiting list for "little favors" if you know what I mean. Those apartments set aside for section 8 in luxury buildings are to die for, and some people are willing to do some unsavory things to move into one.
@@guillermogouldburn763 Evil desire lurks everywhere but the notion of balancing the scales w/ a seasoning of these types of programs is the point and I think it's a great one.
This is my hometown, but i ended up coming to college up in the US and i love the change of seasons and weather. It is hot there all the time and i don’t have the money to get out of that weather, so i have stayed in the US. YES, it is a nice town, just too hot all the time…
Beautiful video as always. Thank for the two descriptions summarized in a word, each. I can’t wait to check it out. As far as gentrification, I’m sure it could’ve been done differently. It’s always sad to know it occurred; however tourists and expats will benefit since locals’ wages don’t equate to the rent. I loved the skyline.
I found the socialization of Panama to be very similar to the USA, it felt more so then in Costa Rica…considering the various skin colors that many had in Panama as opposed to Costa Rica, I find that interesting. I feel that while the people genetically are diverse, I sense the people segregate from the blacks. They socialized much less with each other then certain parts of South America. The people desired to kick out, when talking to the people there were of a darker hue and they tend to be the people receiving lower wages. The people in the trenches that build the Panama Canal are of a darker hue. Gentrification will continue until there is a value for the progenitors of Reggaton, the Panama Canal and overall culture of Panama. Income mixing in the neighborhoods would help stave off the displacement of the inhabitants.
Casco Viejo is not the original old city. La Ciudad Antigua is the original which comprises a national park on the outskirts of the city. It was destroyed by the pirate Henry Morgan towards the end of the 17th century. It is basically a city of ruins. It is a very peaceful place, but well worth a visit. Everything is labeled in English and Spanish. Casco Viejo is the second old capital. From Elaine la profe de espańol en NJ
Hey! I hope you get to eat a lot of different food!!! From home cooking to firmer, and even the national fast food like food trucks and even Pio Pío...
Thank you for this video. I am contemplating visiting Panama in the winter, or either Guatemala. I have been watching another young ladies you tube videos about Panama, and she is Panamanian. It's nice to get many different perspectives and visuals. So gentrification rears its ugly head everywhere, and prices the locals out of prime areas. I guess there is no way to escape it, unless you can adapt to a more rustic and natural place.
Great information. My wife and I are headed to Panama City in July, from the U.S. Do we need shots, before we head there? Staying at a resort. Thank you!!!
Hi, thanks for the video. Are you still living there? Could you please let me know about the living cost, is a safe city, is secure walking around, biking. Food, is good?. Supermarkets?, Transportation?. How much money , monthly is enough for living?. What area of the city is a good one, affordable and safe?. Thanks
You can book an appointment with us at www.nomadicwander.as.me and we'll supply a full report covering all of these items and more. You could also check with Expatastan.com or Numbeo.com. For us it's $55 for .5 hr and $100/ hr.
One thought if you're buying real estate in Panama city it would be interesting to see sea level rise projections in the area. Example of what I'm talking about Miami and Miami beach. Hyper expensive yet going underwater slowly but surely
Omg family I was one of your day one you guys are up to 36k wow and wow. So happy and proud of you two. I have been busy relocating I subscribed under another name in past. Great video and in about 10 minutes, were able to hit on some of the hot topics and issues we as Panamanians face on a daily basis, ie. Increased cost of living. Is there a way to balance this out for middle income local households at the rate US dollars are being invested to attract foreign investment and tourism, ie. infrastructure? That is the $10k question. Well done, lots more to see and experience, please come back!
We talked to quite a few Panamanians and inflation was the hottest topic. I am now wondering if it is the same throughout the country or is it solely concentrated in the city.
This guy is simpler to me when it comes to beautification of any major city. He's love a great and beautiful skyline and so do I. I live in the largest city in Kansas, which I refer to as a large town. It have ZERO skyline, lol
The word Greed comes to mind & I'm feeling you on that urge for a cup of coffee.☕ My Cafe Duran stash is done.🙄 The last time I was at Casco Viejo it was more like the building that April posed in front of. In what country did you pick up your cute canine friend? I was surprised due to travel & boarder crossing issues, but your Squad is lovely.
Great editing! Mrs. Yarbos, how do you feel about being left-handed once you travel to Africa? My husband is left-handed and he is afraid of offending others.
Hey guys been a while Hope your doing well Looks like a massive place concrete Jungle with some actual Jungle inside ha Take care you 2 wonderful people 🥰 Cheers from 2 Canadians living on the Gulf of Mexico J&D ✌️🇨🇦🇲🇽🙏
Hey Jennifer and Darryle! Thanks for tuning in. It is a bit like a concrete jungle lol. One article we read called it the Manhattan of Latin America. Haven't ventured to the jungle side yet!
Is a lot more to see like the old city called Panama la vieja you guys where close to it, about the people that use to live in casco viejo where relocated to government financed homes the reason why this other homes look so bad is because this is the way they force the people out live the buildings to fall apart once they are damaged people goes out and then the development start
Yes, we went there but those cuts didn't make this video. We will be going back to do a more comprehensive perspective for the people who are interested. Thanks for watching and commenting! We appreciate you!
Panama is a mixing of cultures and races (melting pot) and panamanians are proud of this. According to the united nations (UN) is one of the most mixed countries in the world. In other words panamanians are the real united colors of benetton
@@TheYarbros Thanks! I figured it out after watching more of your videos. Although I'm American, I grew up in Panama in the former Canal Zone (that big hill by Panama City). I'm thinking of retiring there. The U.S. has really gone down hill in the last 5 years. Although Panama isn't perfect, it's my favorite place ever. Great outdoor activities, lots of culture and no crazy people running around with guns killing people. You guys should go back!!
Unfortunately, the local and foreign investors are pricing out all locals all over the Caribbean Basin. The Caribbean Basin today is the best place to retire in the World because dollars and euros here take you a very long way, unlike in many other places. New sources of employment in this region, especially in medical sciences and it technologies, require good education and empowerment. There is only basic government funding in education.
True, we had a conversation w/ an indigenous woman in Antigua, Guatemala and she was explaining how her entire tribe are craftsmen and don't have the education/ skillsets to leverage expat dollars more. Broke my heart because these governments and multinational companies are pilfering every euro/ dollar they can get.

Thanks for tuning in. I hope you are able to make that decision... its a tough one.
Great information. My wife and I are headed to Panama City in July, from the U.S. Do we need shots, before we head there? Staying at a resort. Thank you!!!
It's complicated we're vaxxed and you're supposed to be when you come here but no one asked for our actual records when we came...so idk.
No you don't need. You only need a test to get in the country.
@@ei1978ll thanks!
Thanks

One thought if you're buying real estate in Panama city it would be interesting to see sea level rise projections in the area. Example of what I'm talking about Miami and Miami beach. Hyper expensive yet going underwater slowly but surely
We hear you!
Omg family I was one of your day one you guys are up to 36k wow and wow. So happy and proud of you two. I have been busy relocating I subscribed under another name in past. Also, tell Ms. April that beautiful strands of black Sister Locs would look good on her.

Btw, I’m following an IG acct w/sister locs now. Love the look but not quite ready to pull that trigger.
Blessings!
@@TheYarbros absolutely…definitely understand about the beautiful tresses. I’m not quite ready for permanent locs either, but found a work around by wearing them as a style.
I usually 2 strand twist 250-300 micro locs and wear them for a few months, and then take them down to let the fro flow freely - and then repeat! 😆 Really enjoy being able to experience both worlds whenever I want to!
Looking forward to your next upload.

Loved the video. Thank you. Quick question: where did you stay? It looked like the Yoo building. Was it?
Thanks! We stayed at a building called the PH Destiny. Sunday's video will talk about it!
Thanks. I've been there about 4 years ago. I'm considering a move to Panama, but not the City. I'm considering Las Tablas.
Yeah, if we make this move it will not be in the city either.
Hey y’all Hughie here haven’t seen you guys in awhile,i am coming down end of June
Hey! Hope you enjoy the city!
I dont think i got the budget for city rentals i will move to Arraijar or La Chorrera . Just go in to the city for food concerts, fun
Thanks, we were dogsitting for a friend.
Lovely couple. Was there a few months ago and want to return in a month or so but I hear its rainy season. How was the weather?
Rainy and humid but also sunny at some point during the day.
Nothing makes me happier to see my black brothers and sisters in my dream country.
My dream is to retire here someday. Love the country so much.
How do you connect with a Panamá Lawyer?
Depends on what type you need but Facebook groups are great for recommendations.
Well done!
Thank you!

😄 Will do! Glad you enjoyed the show!
Thank you for this high-quality and detailed review. I also appreciate the truth about gentrification. Much love!
Our pleasure! Thanks for supporting us with your views and comments! -Blessings

Thank you! 😄
Looking Healthy thank you
Thank you....we're trying!
Great editing! Mrs. Yarbos, how do you feel about being left-handed once you travel to Africa? My husband is left-handed and he is afraid of offending others.
Ooo I haven’t even thought much about that. I can adapt, although Im sure I’ll slip up a few times.
Hey guys been a while
Hope your doing well
Looks like a massive place concrete Jungle with some actual Jungle inside ha
Take care you 2 wonderful people 🥰
Cheers from 2 Canadians living on the Gulf of Mexico
J&D ✌️🇨🇦🇲🇽🙏
Hey Jennifer and Darryle! Thanks for tuning in. It is a bit like a concrete jungle lol. One article we read called it the Manhattan of Latin America. Haven't ventured to the jungle side yet!
@@TheYarbros haha nice, enjoy you crazy kids 🙏✌️😍
Don't forget to try cafe Costa Azul 😉.
It's on the list and we ate looking fwd to it!
Wait is this to be featured on House Hunters International the TV show?
I wish lol! No, there's a luxury real estate company here called House Hunters Panama and we're working on a collab with them.
What hotel is that
Do native Panamanian people live in the luxury condos or is it all people from abroad?
We haven't met any yet but I am sure they do.
Panama City is on my short list for retirement. The Pensioner Visa is what's up!!!!
lol
Alright! Hopefully we can provide some good info for you!
Thanks beautiful city but way too hot and humid ...
Thanks for watching! Luckily, it's rainy season here and we appreciate that.
Very informative. The government could have invested in the areas prior to it being gentrified. Minimum wage should be raised.
Colon is next...
I don't know. It doesn't seem like a retirement location on paper but we'll see...
@@TheYarbros Next to be gentrified...sorry I wasn't clear
I thought you were going to show some places from house hunters Panama?
Not on this video. This is our intro and 1st Impressions of the city.
I was thinking "kleptocracy" as my one word to describe Panama.
The story of Latin America....
Facts 1000 %
Panama is a mixing of cultures and races (melting pot) and panamanians are proud of this. According to the united nations (UN) is one of the most mixed countries in the world. In other words panamanians are the real united colors of benetton
It is definitely diverse and we love that!
How is it you're able to travel with a big dog?
We don't. We were dog sitting.
🇵🇦 is home
👌🏾
My word is Legacy
Okay!
Who's dog?
