Nice guide. One tip for new hunters with no traps in regards to taming. You can already have a pet out when you start taming, so that it tanks the damage from the beast you are trying to tame. A couple of seconds before the taming spells is fully cast right click and abandon your current pet. You can effectively tame pets without taking damage this way.
Something else that would increase your leveling in general, is holding the shift key when you right click loot to loot everything at once instead of clicking.
Much of this information is very harmful to new players. If you are auto-attacking you should be in aspect of the Hawk. Period. Spec to improve it and play to maximize the benefit. Professions are extremely useful while leveling if you know what to do with them. At the very least pick up Skinning and either herb or mining. You'll be picking up a lot of extra cash with very little relative effort put in. Cooking also takes very little effort to maintain and is very helpful as a hunter as it reduces the cost of keeping your pet happy ( and supplements your non-existent self-healing for when you actually get hurt). Don't waste money on vendor meat when you have beasts all around you can farm from. Spec into pathfinder but only use cheetah if there's little or no chance you'll be hit. The second you get hit, cheetah becomes a massive net loss in speed, whether or not you've put points into improving it. Trying to kite with Cheetah on while in melee range of a mob is a terrible idea, as you demonstrate in your video. The fact that you advocate for skipping the survivability talents in BM and then show your pet die in a 1v1, then spend the next minute flailing around because you skipped all your kiting abilities to save money demonstrates how little you understand time management. Pick up spirit bond, make sure your pet stays healthy. It's worth way more than the extra five or ten AP you get from imp Hunter's Mark. Don't cast Eagle Eye in combat. Seriously? It's a channel and stops you from doing damage. I would recommend skipping both it and Eyes of the Beast entirely. They're wastes of money. Just watch your mini map and keep up relevant tracking. The only time EE is worth using is if you're hunting for a rare tame - you can scout faster that way. But while leveling it's pretty pointless. High attack speed pets are good because they interrupt enemy spellcasting better than slower attacking pets. That's literally the only value to them. It's crucial when PvP'ing against a caster, but pretty much irrelevant in PvE, and has nothing to do with threat. Higher DPS pets get more threat because they do more damage, not because they attack faster. Boars are good all the way to 60 if you like them, but picking up a cat or raptor is better simply because they have higher damage. Attack speed is only important if you care about PvP. The info about keeping pet abilities upgraded is extremely useful, but pets don't gain ability points just through leveling - it's their loyaly level (1-6) and their actual level (10-60) that determines their total points. The magic resist abilities are really just for specific PvE encounters and some PvP uses. For example, frost, nature, and shadow are all used for CC. A high frost resist pet is great for PvP against a mage because your pet will be much more likely to resist frost nova - shadow helps resist fears, nature helps against roots (but druids are more likely to hibernate a pet if they both with it at all). I would still, as you did, recommend skipping those abilities until cap unless you find yourself constantly PvP'ing and having your pet CC'd is bugging you.
Agree with everything but would add that a faster attack speed pet has more opportunities to crit thus proc'ing frenzy more often and that's one reason high attack speed does add a bit of dps
Some humble advice on pets: -For leveling: get yourself a Boar, they come with a powerful charge and are great tanks. -For pvp: Get yourself either a cat or wind serpent as these have the best dps, a cat has stealth which can be a great tool for BGs and the serpent has a powerful ranged spell dmg attack. -For soloing dungeons elites etc: Get yourself a Turtle, comes with a powerful shield to block key damage -For groups/raids: Get yourself either a cat for bonus single target dmg or a wolf for its group damage buff. Have fun hunting and BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
Laco Bachratý Asp of the Hawk, the RNG buff is really nice when you get it, plus it means even when your low on mana you 'can' get a free a little boost to your dmg.
Upgrading pet abilities is key. Taming certain pet types is good, but if you want the most out of your pet, tame a rare. If you're serious about your pet dps. Lupos in Duskwood(bite), Grunter in the blasted lands(charge)...
One thing i noticed while playing on nost, (level 46 hunter) was that trackiing was completely useless ,because of stress on the server made them restrict your view distance-npc spawned suddenly out of nowhere on top of you. but then ofc it was to late. =D
Before hunter pet normalization, Broken Tooth was the only pet (cat) with a 1.0 attack speed, making it the most desired dps hunter pet to have. He was found in the Badlands...
+Mark Blair He was the best for pvp but not for pve. Lupos was the best because he did shadow damage which ignored armour and plus in fights where your pet would not survive in melee range, you could keep him by your side for furious howl.
You forgot the two most essential things to leveling a hunter... Only use r1 multishot to reduce mana downtime and maximize dmg output/mana spent and get Rais Autoshot addon!
Warning to new hunters: the guy in this video is a very new hunter and is just guessing about what is best over and over and is often wrong. It has some OK tips, but it also has some tips that are very harmful and will teach you bad habits. Take Everything in this video with a grain of salt.... Find some other good guides for hunters and... Probably best to just skip this one until you know enough to know what is wrong here... At which point you won't need it anyway....
Nice guide this helped me out . This is more of newbie guide though , as for talents experienced players could probably mix it up to maximise pet and hunter dps even at low levels , also for pets you should've mentioned Lupos (Best PvE pet , ignores armour) and Brokentooth (Best PvP pet , lowest attack speed)
there's always so many hunters in LFR, and I can't stop but thinking it's a class for "casual and CoD players" , yet I trully wonder how technical and hard they actually are
The hunter's mark auto shoot macro isn't in the description or in the post on nostalrius forum you linked? Could you please post it again if it works on Kronos.
+Veljko Drljaca There's plenty more vanilla videos on my channel dude I'll list them. ua-cam.com/video/Z-PQwGew7qY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/TRvO7qFgAYY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/4bDTsxaE3E0/v-deo.html
do you go over your vanilla interface in that description video as well? because i clicked away when i saw a worgen standing there and i was looking for a reliable questie link
Hello! I'm new to your channel but already have subscribed. Is there any chance that you would be able to make a notepad of your macros that would be highly appreciated
Regarding Improved Aspect of the Hawk: You are incorrect. And here's why: Leveling as Beast Mastery, your rotation will be as follows - 1. Send Pet 2. Cast Hunter's Mark 3. Cast Serpent Sting 4 . Auto shot till target death. 5. Rinse & repeat. This method allows you to save mana for an occasional Mend Pet (will be needed), and you aren't going to be sitting there waiting for your pet to finish eating while you are drinking to regain mana. You aren't going to have the mana to sustain an Arcane Shot rotation. You will be end up wasting time with your suggestion. Trust me, IAotH procs WAY more often during auto shot than you are presenting in this vid.
+Briax Breimo Of course it is, there's only a few enemies in the game with buggy path finding, like murlocs or surfcrawlers who can't swim etc. and a couple bosses like Garr in Molten Core doesn't patrol the area he just stands in the middle of the room with his adds around him. The night elf archer lady in Dire Maul west, she can be aggroed from the bottom floor which actually benefits the group anyways, over all the game itself is perfect aside from the occasional 10-20 minute server crash due to high population.
+Chill idk overall ive seen more scripting bugs in 24 levels of kronos than i saw of 25 levels of nost, not saying the server is worse, just saying from what ive experienced, the scripting isnt as good but still damn good overall :)
+Adam Wojtczak Make sure growl is on automatic, spec bm and make sure your pet is first to attack. Also use feign death and disengage shouldn't be too hard :P
MetaGoblin meh... well when I was playing a hunter, YOU'D better enjoy it, because if you wanted an ability for (lets say bite 8) your pet you had to go tame some freakin high level crocodile thousands of miles away from where you were, cross zones that were too high level for you, then had to survive the damn thing... so THEN you could teach to your pet. It was the most well done class in wow
I can't get the Mark macro to work. I get errors at the Distance part. Could you by chance paste the macro contents in the description of the video or in reply?
Leveling in Marksman with no BM traits is very easy. Pet can still hold aggro against you no problem, and the mob is dead before its ever a threat. You don't want BM on a PvP server, or you auto-lose to anyone with CC before your 31 points talent and then you lose everytime except when thats not on CD. Also, playing majority in AotC is TERRIBLE and asking to be ganked.
You took 1 min 40s from 6:50 to 8:30 to kill one scorpid ? wtf man, just go melee with it instead of waiting for mana and spam sting........ good guide otherwise
Dude you gotta get skinning at least, It's an easy prof to get and it adds funds to your mount fund. You gotta make money man. Being lvl 40 with aspect of cheetah where others run around with mounts.. not cool.

I realize this is a somewhat old video, but sorry mate... You are giving out wrong advice and advice that flat out hinders fast leveling on so many points. Please don't take this the wrong way, i do not mean to be condescending in any shape or form, but please, if you make a guide for people to follow you should have at least more than basic knowledge of what your guide entails. And in this case you have less than basic knowledge i'm afraid.
Sorry to say it man but I avoid your videos. Your opinions on a lot of things are just wrong. Also you don’t provide any facts or data to back up your claims.

I've picked bear for 1-30 as it has high hp and mid armour
Hi! What do you recommend for beast mastery leveling, Improved Aspect of the Hawk or Endurance Training?
Laco Bachratý
Asp of the Hawk, the RNG buff is really nice when you get it, plus it means even when your low on mana you 'can' get a free a little boost to your dmg.
"Always stay in aspect of the cheetah" - God, you remind me of the China Farmers from 2004 lol, they were so easy to gank.
Just a random blob of alliance in the middle of the desert, nice.
#justvanillathings

Thanks for the addon tip I'll try it out
Once again great vid Goblin! keep up the good work man ;)

lup dont do shadow dmg.
+suhail1200 I recently found that out , shame , though . Wolves are still pretty nice .
Rathrak Gaming Ya.Still furious howl is decent :p
there's always so many hunters in LFR, and I can't stop but thinking it's a class for "casual and CoD players" , yet I trully wonder how technical and hard they actually are
God... How I miss the old school talent system...
+DatRclzGuy I love how there's so many options to make your character unique.

What addon is it that you make all your bars at the bottom come up that way?
The hunter's mark auto shoot macro isn't in the description or in the post on nostalrius forum you linked?
Could you please post it again if it works on Kronos.
So sad that this server is now murdered by Blizzard. RIP Nostalrius
ITS BACK @DETECTABLETV
Could you make some more of vanilla videos, cuz i never played vanilla and i would really like to know more about it?
Thanks for the great video!

+josh drakes There's an addon video on my channel :P
You didn't link your addons in the description as you said you would.
Mend pet and shift loot are useful as well :p Which I noticed you are not using.
9:04 was such a wow moment
*Sees other hunter running away* huh that's weird it's just one mob.... Oh
Great guide !!
Do you use sweetFX ?

+steve vansteenbrugge Never knew people still played retail haha.
how do you move your map and player and target i know the addon but unsure about commands please respond just stard one on kornos 2
as you say aspect of the hawk isnt going to proc it procs 4 times on 1 mob lol
Is the gameplay on nostalrius that smooth as in the video? It looks so tuned, or is it just the video edit?
+Briax Breimo Of course it is, there's only a few enemies in the game with buggy path finding, like murlocs or surfcrawlers who can't swim etc. and a couple bosses like Garr in Molten Core doesn't patrol the area he just stands in the middle of the room with his adds around him. i dont get tryharding leveling
lol renamed from Nostalrious to Kronos
+Felix Nadler :(
kronos is actually better scripted
+Nishin yep better scripting

+Tom Leonard (Thydar) oh and pathfinding can be a bit dodgy
can you please send me the hunters mark macro. I cant find it in the Description/ the forum you linked
is their an Addon for Pet guide like Abilities ect.
Why have you not tamed pets with bite and slash? your pet is doing 40% its potential dmg output
How do you make your pet absorb all damage. Mobs attack me when I attack them using bow, they don't focus on my pet? Thanks.
+Adam Wojtczak Make sure growl is on automatic, spec bm and make sure your pet is first to attack. Also use feign death and disengage shouldn't be too hard :P
Nice one MB
+Primal Cortex Thanks lad :D
why do you need to tame the pet i didnt understand
improved aspect of the hawk procs all the time dude what do u mean never procs?
Great guide! Acouple questions I have about this class is, how are their dps in raids? What is the best races for pve mostly?
Not best dps and not worst dps. Trolls are best because of their racial ability
Also where can i find these macros, perhaps have posted them in the description.
+Kamirahvideos In the description now.
Did nostalrius have the improved character models or what?
old beast master hunter! way to go! EDIT: I miss my hunter how it was - thats why I quit actually
+Gray Wolf I enjoy the immersion of slowly building a bond between you and your pet.
I need to update my claw and bite abilities right now. Going to take a trip to the swamp of sorrows to tame some crocodiles haha.
I can't get the Mark macro to work. I get errors at the Distance part. Could you by chance paste the macro contents in the description of the video or in reply?
+LionidasL10 in the description now :P
+MetaGoblin
Wow, more than I expected. Thanks a bunch for all the effort man. -Nightbird Alliance PVE.
What race (alli/horde) is best for pve hunter? Can you please, write me advantages of each race?

What addon is that to move the minimap to the buttom of screen?
+Northwest Bandidos moveanything.
best way level up in vanilla do dungeons and dungeons quests and grind mobs
+LT Gamers Lietuva you troll haha.
+MetaGoblin only goblins are trolls...
This is one of those times where the comments are useful than the video.
posting the macros would be awesome!
when you said you don't need professions, you lost me.
Leveling in Marksman with no BM traits is very easy. Pet can still hold aggro against you no problem, and the mob is dead before its ever a threat. dude u need to train your pet spells, like dash or claw or bite or anything?
+Kamirahvideos Aye that was a mistake I made while leveling and talked about it in the video.
Pleease link to your UI
No professions? That's a really bad idea, get 2 gathering professions to make money as you level up
See with my Druid videos
7:07 wtf kind of tactic is this? the slowest possible way to kill a mob?
Want wow classic servers already! I don't wanna play on a private one mainly because I know it'll just get deleted in a years time lol
>named drekthar
>is a hunter, not a shaman
come on dude
you are basically explaining a 101 hunter....
there are actually privat vanilla servers?i joined with lich king state so i always wondered how vanilla is hearing all that glorious talk about it.
+GenWargrey en.nostalrius.org/
i did a littel search and found it,ty anyway,ill try it :)
+GenWargrey Get it done this server is more popular than a retail server haha.

Hawk better
Server name
+JASSIM Althani In the name of the video :P
"Save you gold for a mount." ....NO, save your gold for better equipments.
That's what running dungeons is for... better equipment.
Have you ever reached level 60 Vanilla? Many BiS are craftable, mats for items, enchs, not to mention spells etc cost shit ton of gold.
Yes I have, I had full tier 2 years ago in real vanilla.. not a legacy server.
You're talking about after lvl 60. This video is a leveling video.. meaning what you should do while leveling.
Yes, because someone who actually knows what they are doing would prioritize a mount while leveling to 60.
You mean 40..
Is this a troll video?
the griefing on nostalrious is real
its back :D
Rogrash not quite yet but soon
Speak up, otherwise great vid mate.
turn volume up.
should remove this video lol... youre trying to give tips on playing a class you dont know how to play.. lol
oh my god,, every 20 seconds he gives a new troll tip.. lmfao XD
not sure if this is a joke now...
Bad advice.
Is this a joke !? This is not the best way to play with the cat ...Play viper keep mana full heal pet and go back and forth to hawk Always use marksmanship. WOW U ARE NOT GOOD KIDS DON'T LISTEN TO THIS GUY!

Why post a video if you've never even leveled a hunter to 60 before? This is just garbage clickbait the creator hastily made for ad revenue.
always love noobs making guides lol ffs ppl get a clue...
Sorry to say it man but I avoid your videos. Your opinions on a lot of things are just wrong. Also you don’t provide any facts or data to back up your claims.
Wtf randomly dropping a homophobic slur
