I ALSO recently installed the Spectrum Series light bar (the stronger and brighter version of their Black Series 20-inch bar).......it's AMAZING. AND - you don't need to take off the winch plate to install it. You can slide in underneath because it has a low body profile. I took mine off anyways to re-torque all the bolts and flip them over.
I just finished by mount plate install from RC and your video with the tips to install it on the vehicle instead of following the instructions were cluch. I did fall into the trap with the two back winch mount bolts I forgot (even though you mention it) to put those in first before tightening down the winch plate but it wasn't too bad to get it back. Thank you! One tip for future installers with the light bar though, put the light bar in the winch mount area but NOT mounted (two bolts on each side), let it rest in the cavity near the bottom. It won't fall out and will be out of the way for the winch plate install and winch install bolts. Then you can move it into position and install the light bar.
I appreciate your videos on the Rough Country High Mount Winch and Mountain2Metal Camera Relocation installation for the Bronco. Your videos helped influence my decision to purchase these items. I just completed my installation of both products this evening and everything works and looks great! Good job! Oh yeah, I've got a 2022 Bronco Badlands, Area 51 with Sasquatch, MIC and Lux package! I love my Bronco!! 🙂
@@NorthwestBronco The only issue I ran into was with the measurements and black and white photos of the plastic covers around the shackles. I followed the directions as written and made my Dremel cuts accordingly, however the 1 inch measurement down from the top of the bracket was wrong. I completed the first bracket cuts and when I positioned it on the bumper the top left portion of the plastic cover had a 1/2 gap where you could see the shackle bolt. I corrected the visual with black automotive paint so it's not obvious to anyone looking. On the other plastic cover I only cut 1/2 inch off the top portion and that one fit perfectly. Everything else was smooth sailing.
@@KenWatson-jq4wz Sounds like we had the same experience. Only issue I had was those darn plastic covers. Other than that, everything went together great! Thank you for a nice detailed response. Hopefully, it will help others!
Thank you sir. The Bronco was a Sasquatched Badlands. I swapped the large fender flares for standard flares. Then added Black Diamond wheels. The tires in this video are the factory sasquatch tires.
Hi Brain, enjoy your vids. A little late with this question. Was there any sag to you front end when you put this winch mount setup on your rig...if so, how much. I'm looking to put the same setup on my Bronco. Thx
Thanks for posting. You have a great quality about your videos. I have been anxious about seeing a good wench plate. I was leaning toward the Rough Country one. Then I saw the one Buckle Up Buttercup has. That one is very nice. Keep it rolling!
Thanks for the review. I’m 90% sure this is the winch plate I’m going to go with. I will absolutely get the camera relocation kit from Mountains2Metal when I do mine. I find the front camera to be invaluable. I was hoping this would fit the 20” Heretic Studio Amber light bar, which does have two mounting points on the side. But, the heretic is too long. So I’m still looking for an amber solution like yourself.
I just read a comment on the forums from a user and he said relocate the camera before adding the winch. Because you can't get the grill off (easily) once the winch is installed. He also recommended the Mountains2Metal relocating bracket.
Thanks for this man! Have you ever used it yet? I’ve heard the quality of the welds are questionable. But I’m also of the side of realizing that you can’t generalize qualify over different product lines. I personally don’t think rough country engineered this halfway (from a strength) perspective. Thanks again for the great review man! I’m definitely getting one soon! Oh and the 9500 weighs 63.85 and the 1200 weighs 64.15. Minimal difference in weight 👍🏼😎
Thank you for the comment and giving me the numbers for the winch weight. I haven't had the opportunity to use it. My next overland season begins in June 2023. We will have to see how everything goes then. True the welds could be smoother, but the mount appears strong and the powder coating is nice. All in all I'm pleased.
I put the same winch on my 2 door BD. I went with this particular system because of cost and having the 2.7 V6 seems the hidden winch is not an option. Plus laying in the mud or snow to get the hook doesn't sound fun. Not having the front sensors sped up my install considerably. I got the 20" light bar with the DRL mode in it. Totally agree with You on the plastic trim pieces. The instructions weren't great about the trimming of them. It became a lot more clear as to why and what had to be trimmed once I saw the mount on the vehicle. I used a jig saw to do mine, like you said it all blends in.
So I’m assuming you’re front camera is worthless now. So you have to have someone get out to spot for you when wheeling instead of just using the camera?
Yes, unless you simply relocate the camera. I have a video on that if you scroll through my videos. It’s a simple two hour job. I’d post a link to the video here, but I’m on my phone at the moment. It’s about 10 videos back.
Did you experience any issues with your sensors after relocating? I’m getting a parking assist “fault” message after hooking them back up with the extensions. Any tips appreciated
@@marcusbush336 I'll copy and paste what others on the forums said: 1. Plugged the license plate plug into the sensor by mistake 2. I used zip ties to make sure they wouldn’t pull apart ( connection not seated)
Do you know if there’s an available front camera relocation bracket? I currently have the brush guard on the modular bumper and was considering this high winch mount because it allows me to keep it on the vehicle. Though I’m pretty certain the camera will need to be moved.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. It looks like clevis's would still fit on the front of the bumper without interfering with the winch mount. Is that the case? I'd like to keep the clevis hooks on the front of my bumper.
Hi Brian, I really appreciate your videos. I was looking through the instructions for the winch/mount (which I have not purchased yet), and there was a step that involved having to trim away some of the sensor housing to clear the winch motor hosing. Was that pretty easy? How much did you have to trim?
Yes, there is some trimming. I address that in the video at time stamp 10:20. The directions are very difficult to follow in regards to where to trim. I found it's better to just hold the piece in place and trim as you see fit. Once one side is done, simply mirror your cuts to the other side piece. The good news is, the bronco is all black down there, so minor mistakes are not a big deal as everything kinda blends together down there.
@@NorthwestBronco Sorry, I was not clear. I did not mean trimming the trim pieces, but rather trimming the parking sensor. See photos 33 and 34 in this document: s3.amazonaws.com/roughcountry/install/921510660.pdf
@@rcarlin Oh yes, that was easy. Simply use a dremel tool with the sander attachment. Depending on your winch choice, you just sand down until everything fits into place correctly. It obvious how much you need to sand once you get to that step. It's very easy and the part sands away very quickly.
