    From a Yank living near the center of the 50 States who loves to tinker with composites, why are all of the Great Composite Supply Companies in the bloody UK?!
    Fantastic video and products, by the way!

    If the vacuum is on during the cure, what stops the resin from flowing out of the part and into the pump?

      Hi there! Thanks for watching. The silicone under vacuum forms a tight seal around the moulding area so resin will not pass through this barrier. However, to allow air to draw out under vacuum we distribute small sections of breather tissue around the border. This allows air out and a very tiny amount of resin to draw through. We always recommend using a catchpot as a safeguard, however if our instructions are followed correctly this should not be needed. There are several other factors to consider, but these are suggested on a client basis as per project specifications. We hope this helps! Do let us know if you have any more questions. -Team AHC.

      You can use a catch pot.

    how many times can you reuse the membrane with epoxy resin, please?

    • @alanharpercompositesltd
      @alanharpercompositesltd  26 днів тому

      Hey! Currently with epoxy the reuses are far less in comparison to poly ester and vinyl ester-- more like 20-50 times (depending on process and materials). Although its not as impressive, it still a worthwhile investment due to the many benefits achieved through the process. Do contact us if you'd like to learn more about this.
