Really nice tutorial easy to follow. Just a quick tip that I found easy for this stitch is,to count the stitches flip inside out and it will be so easier to count the stiches. As this stitch is a bit confusing to count 😅
Hi there! I was looking for a kids pattern for a hat and found your video. I’m still following along but I wanted to thank you for doing a great job of teaching. I’m working on the top half of the hat almost too 15 in (9 rows) I’m making this for my grandson. Thanks for sharing!!! 😊😊
Thank you so much for this pattern, it turned out Great! I have made many of your baby items and I’m glad to see that you zoomed in to show exactly where to place the next stitch. Love it!
Absolutely gorgeous!!.. I'm going to make several in sizes from newborn to 5yrs. Thank you so much for the lovely tutorial. I really appreciate it. Much love from New Zealand xx
Wonderful ,Sarah ! Your clear instructions ,wonderful designs, gentle voice , clear videos ...are just some reasons that make you my favourite! And i made many of your works , just inspiring. 💖 Does the chain length need to be exactly the same as the head circumfrence in a beanie or a slouchy hat? Thanks 🌷🌷
Love this pattern. I do have a question. When the 4 rows of the brim are done can we not keep on going with the next colour instead of flipping the brim around? Thank you.
Whatever your yarn size corresponds to. Normally 4 to 5, or 5. 5, but it will depend on the size of yarn and the desired outcome (looser stitch or more compact).
Thank you Sara, I will try and find a 10 ply or worsted weight yarn, I live in Australia and don’t get a lot of #4 yarn, my grandson wants yellow and has a 19” head, he is nearly 5, will the 4-6 hat be big enough?
You will have to make the alpine stitch on the back post of each dc when on the wrong side. I tried it and the stitch doesn’t look uniform since the stitch on the right side slants to the left and on the wrong side it slants to the right.

Did you use the whole ball of yarn for this hat?
I used 104g total
Could you please make a toddle hat for a12to24 months
Just follow the exact same way, only start with more or less starting chains. You can make these from prem to adult very easily.
Do you have a scarf pattern to match this hat for 10 year old please
I’m sorry but I don’t.
what size hook are you using?
Whatever your yarn size corresponds to. Normally 4 to 5, or 5. 5, but it will depend on the size of yarn and the desired outcome (looser stitch or more compact).
Hi there can I use 8 ply yarn if I don't have 10 ply
Yes but your fabric might be a little loose.
Thank you Sara, I will try and find a 10 ply or worsted weight yarn, I live in Australia and don’t get a lot of #4 yarn, my grandson wants yellow and has a 19” head, he is nearly 5, will the 4-6 hat be big enough?
Yes it will fit. Good luck 😀
I would like pattern.

How can I do this stitch not in the round?
You will have to make the alpine stitch on the back post of each dc when on the wrong side. I tried it and the stitch doesn’t look uniform since the stitch on the right side slants to the left and on the wrong side it slants to the right.
