      @mrhaltonok 2 роки тому +20

      Very arbitrary valuation though. Anyone could develop a terrible product and decide to value the rights for five million, it doesn’t mean the company has made that much cash or could be sold for that much. It’s only worth 5m if someone decides to pay that for the company. Otherwise, it’s only worth what tiny profits it’s making each year

    I love how the inventor only played them 10 seconds of music (which was merely just a beat), so they couldn't notice how horribly off the pitch is or hear the wow and flutter. I'm sure he was careful not to let them see all the scratches left on the record when he was done. Any UA-cam video of someone demo-ing this on a track with vocals will make you laugh.

You can argue that the RokBlok did that, but I wouldn't say adding bluetooth is a drastic improvement on the overall concept. The mechanical design itself is flawed, as it seems impossible to use it without damaging your records and maintaing peoper speed. It's a pointless, flawed gimmick then and now. I’m not a vinyl collector, so I ask genuinely, how would this destroy a vinyl? It moves with it, rather than scraping across it like I’d imagine a traditional record player would.

      a traditional record player moves the needle throught he groove by spinning the record, the way the media was designed to be played. this product is driving on top of your record, at the very least there is 4 wheels that don't need to be making contact

    There's a basic design flaw in this. There's RPM, and there's "linear speed". Like your car, the RPM of your wheels, and the speed of the car.
    This record player will be slower on the outward tracks, and too fast in the inner tracks because the length of the inner tracks are much shorter, but the player will continue to run at the same "road speed" making it a much higher RPM.
    Sorry, I know I didn't write it very clearly.

    He claims it's an alternative for people who can't afford record players, but I think he said that damn thing was $99. My first record player was a great Victorola for $40. Plus there's pretty much no point if you have to ruin the quality with Bluetooth

    I thought the whole point of having vinyls is to either collect them or to also play them on a vintage record player to give you old school vibes. Why would anyone willingly choose shittier audio without getting anything in return instead of just getting a modern speaker

  • @rodneycooperjr3223
    @rodneycooperjr3223 2 роки тому +2

    For people talking about the flaws in the product, you're missing the point. It's a new product that actually works. The first cell phones were crappy. The first home computers were crappy. The first TVs were crappy. Heck, even the first houses were crappy. The first of a kind of any product is normally pretty crappy, but if you got in on the ground floor when those things were invented, you would be wealthy.
    Even though, if it were me being asked to invest in this, the only thing I would want to make sure of is that the box is actually reading the record, and not just playing random music that's already stored in the box. I would have him test it with my vinyl first.

    We get our own version of this in the UK, "Dragon's Den". In the American one, do the inventors always talk like infomercial presenters? And do the "sharks" pretend to be impressed in such an over-theatrical way? Could it be they're all salivating over it as a sales measure, to make sure the public think it's impressive? Like they decided before filming what they were going to do (and prob negotiated the contract too), then the bad acting comes along to promote it?
    As it is, reviews online call this the "vinyl destroyer", it causes scratches and sounds like shit. And costs $60.
    Why are they so impressed at sending music over Bluetooth? This has been possible for more than 10 years. When you call their mobile phone, do they spend the first 5 minutes marvelling at "human voice... from the air!" before they start the conversation? When they're finished on the toilet do they wonder agasp where the shit goes?
    It's not just fake, it's a shitty fake. I suppose these products are aimed at the lower half of the IQ spectrum, and the show is just an infomercial. The UK version isn't quite so bad as that.

    • @MildMisanthropeMaybeMassive
      @MildMisanthropeMaybeMassive 5 років тому

      greenaum The Sharks are often not so impressed. They are often rude, blunt, and brutal and like to nitpick and tear down the presentations. For example they all passed on Doorbot (now known as Ring) the innovative WiFi enabled doorbell, intercom, security camera that casts to the resident’s phone after poking holes into the founder’s business model. Since being rejected Ring made hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue and sold last month to Amazon for $1 Billion.
      This was uncharacteristic for them to fall for this magic trick bait and switch.
