There IS in fact an Uber app available, However currently, it's exclusive to Samsung devices ONLY, meaning you cannot install Uber on the Gear S3 using any other Android device. There's a Gear Store designed for Samsung phones and Gear Store designed for every other Android device. This explains the blank search result on my Pixel. Hopefully Uber Support will be added in the future!
Mark Edwards Great Question, I left this out of the vid for time purposes. But the LTE model comes preinstalled with an E-SIM chip. So all u have to do is contact At&t or T-Mobile and they'll activate it with a number.
Bought one this week and paired it to my Motorola G6 Play, it works flawless. Great value at €199 nowadays. Even after two years this is still a great watch.

I'm back and got my Gear s3 LTE...amazingly easy to use and awes the cashier at payment. This watch is very comfy and I forget that I'm wearing it so, the size is actually not an issue. Love this watch! Love this review! My bad I thought I had already subscribed. (done)

TEQ, I use a wheelchair and had a couple questions: 1. Do you know if the app has a setting for wheelchair use...I don't walk or run...and I'd like to be able to long my pushes... 2. Can I do Google Play from the watch on wifi? or does everything have to be Bluetooth from the phone...can't afford the SIM card route. 3. How's the speaker loudness...I seriously want this for one thing...answering the phone in the shower and listening to music in the shower...sucks getting out when you can't walk...it's a cumbersome process... Appreciate any info you have on this. Mike-
You could use the Cycling setting. I mean, you are on wheels, so...? I know someone who I think uses Strava on his wheelchair rides. There are some that even allow you to enter data like wheelsize, weight of your bike (chair in your case) and height, weight, etc... The Samsung app may not be perfect, but there should be some wiggle room to get the data you are looking for.

Well, I purchased the Gear S3 and it lives up to everything in the review! I did purchase some additional protective glass covers for the face for some added ruggedness. Charged to full and lasted 4 days on that charge. If I turn it off overnight while I'm sleeping, I'm certain to get another couple of days out of a single charge. Thanks, again, for the review video!

I got one of these for my birthday, its a great watch. Tons of customization, and performance. A little low on the internal memory department, only 1.4 gbs of free storage for music and apps...I would have preferred 32 gigs or more, because, why not.

This was very down to earth and you touched on topics that the average person would relate to. I received the Gear 3 Frontier for Christmas and so far have enjoyed it. Personally as a female, I will say is a bit bulky for me, but I am adjusting. Not a fan of the watch band, going to research and try to find a more feminine one! The watch faces are very customizable as you mentioned, so that helps! Again, thank you!

You touch on all the relevent aspects and functions of the watch, provide effective visuals that demonstrate exactly what you are referring to, and articulate your thoughts well. I cannot tell you how annoying it is to watch a video with a presenter who doesn't plan out what he/she intends to say and spends 10 minutes shooting close ups of the box the gadget came in. I just picked up this watch last week and use it with my Galaxy S9+. Great video and informative. One thing though is that you mention about texting messages and how it's kind of hard on a small screen. I have the Classic version but pretty sure it's the same basic watch except the look. When texting, I use the voice command and find that it's pretty accurate. Speak and text, simple. So far, love the watch.
Great video dude. Got me sold on the S3 Frontier LTE. I know they just unveiled a new "sport" watch, but I can't see anything about an LTE version of it, tech spec wise the frontier is > so I will roll with that.

Nice video. Sammy made a nice watch looks good too and that rotating bezel is pretty slick. Just like when i first had the 360 tho the round faces don't show enough text to much scrolling required, like when I'm driving I'd hav to scroll all the time to read the whole text compared to my Apple Watch, but i do like the round designs, Its all about trade offs.
There are a few thing that you should know before you buy this watch. While this watch supports bluetooth, it is not visible as a bluetooth sensor on your smartphone. The result is that I use Runtastic/Strava as my main running app (those support training schema's, interval training, etc) while the watch is keeping track of my vitals (heartrate, cadance, speed, pace, altitude changes, etc). But the information is fragmented over two different apps. I was optimistic about Endomondo. They provide actually a tizen app for your watch besides the regular apps for android/ios/wp. But the apps aren't connected, so the end result is that you register your run twice. A nice thing was that Samsung sponsored a one year premium subscription for free. I did also notice that the watch GPS does not always works properly if it's still connected via bluetooth to your phone. Since a few days I also have a wireless headphone (the wired version drove me crazy) and before you know it both the watch and the headphones are fighting which device can pair with your phone. So, before I run, I disable bluetooth on my watch and power on my headphones (BackBeat FIT), start an uptempo 2hour music mix of roughly 160bpm (makes it easy to maintain a cadance of 160 steps per minute), start the Runtastic activity and when I hear the 5 second countdown, I rorate the watch bezel so I can start my S-health on the watch at the 3-second interval, so both apps start around the same time. Also the recent S3 update from Samsung did improve things a bit. I did replace the rubber 22mm bands with a leather one as the rubber one made my skin itch. The rubber band also did strap the watch tight enough to my wrist so it was constantly moving which was another irritating factor. And for some reason, you focus way to much on those little irritating factors and they will negatively impact for performance. I use a casual minimalistic (watch)face so i can also wear the watch at the office without it being out of place. I did disable most of the notifications from my smartphone and also disabled the 'bt headset' option on the watch and disable 'bt audio' on the smartphone app. Otherwise all of your phonecalls are going via your watch. Fun for 5 minutes, than it becomes annoying. Also my smartphone can now properly pair with my bt headset in my car.. Both overall I am pleased with this watch.

There are a few thing that you should know before you buy this watch. While this watch supports bluetooth, it is not visible as a bluetooth sensor on your smartphone. The result is that I use Runtastic/Strava as my main running app (those support training schema's, interval training, etc) while the watch is keeping track of my vitals (heartrate, cadance, speed, pace, altitude changes, etc). But the information is fragmented over two different apps.
I was optimistic about Endomondo. They provide actually a tizen app for your watch besides the regular apps for android/ios/wp. But the apps aren't connected, so the end result is that you register your run twice. A nice thing was that Samsung sponsored a one year premium subscription for free.
I did also notice that the watch GPS does not always works properly if it's still connected via bluetooth to your phone. Since a few days I also have a wireless headphone (the wired version drove me crazy) and before you know it both the watch and the headphones are fighting which device can pair with your phone. So, before I run, I disable bluetooth on my watch and power on my headphones (BackBeat FIT), start an uptempo 2hour music mix of roughly 160bpm (makes it easy to maintain a cadance of 160 steps per minute), start the Runtastic activity and when I hear the 5 second countdown, I rorate the watch bezel so I can start my S-health on the watch at the 3-second interval, so both apps start around the same time.
Also the recent S3 update from Samsung did improve things a bit. I did replace the rubber 22mm bands with a leather one as the rubber one made my skin itch. The rubber band also did strap the watch tight enough to my wrist so it was constantly moving which was another irritating factor. And for some reason, you focus way to much on those little irritating factors and they will negatively impact for performance.
I use a casual minimalistic (watch)face so i can also wear the watch at the office without it being out of place. I did disable most of the notifications from my smartphone and also disabled the 'bt headset' option on the watch and disable 'bt audio' on the smartphone app. Otherwise all of your phonecalls are going via your watch. Fun for 5 minutes, than it becomes annoying. Also my smartphone can now properly pair with my bt headset in my car..
Both overall I am pleased with this watch.
