works with wifi i know from experience left cell at home, connected watch to wifi at the gym everything still worked i can text people and reply to notifications without sim connection to the watch it works with WiFi you just can't get calls but all the notifications work and you can initiate plus reply to text

I got mine on sale from Best Buy $299 the frontier it is a beautiful watch I am getting 3 days of use 4 if I stretch it but three days for sure beautiful faces works perfect with my Samsung 6 Edge Plus
I use "phone camera remote". it's the best way for me to include myself in photos while out hiking. seting the timer only works sometimes as your not sure you are in the picture. with phone camera remote you can actually see what your talking a picture of before hand.

Two items that are important to me in a smart watch and have kept me out of the market thus far. Need a detailed running app combined with very precise GPS. Also, a quality golf app. There are many very workable solutions for smart phones but Samsung has not taken advantage of any at this time. Why re-create the wheel? Many, many high quality apps in both fields that many users already use and love.
for me, i used my gear s2: 1. as a mini flashlight/torch when i need one asap 2. to check Messenger chats without even seenzoning their messages 3. to store most of my passwords using MyPasswords for all of my personal things (may it be atm or email ads) 4. for Magic 8Ball and FlipACoin to make simple and fun decisions 5. for Voice Memo to instantly store any info i want to keep and the audio is really amazing and impressively clear 6. for Alti-Barometer and FBarometer for obvious reasons 7. for S Health for obvious reasons as well 8. and lastly the most important of them all: to store pictures/notes to be used during quizzes and exams :p i watched your vid if it is worth for me to upgrade to s3 and i guess i'll consider upgrading. thanks mate! :D

Using a Moto 360 2nd gen currently and using a few apps you didn't list. 1) Viper Smart Start (great for unlocking car door or starting car) 2) turn on lights at home using voice (Google Assistant) 3) Swarm (check in app) 4) Nest (control both voice and app to change or check home thermastat). All these apps can be opened by turning wrist than saying something like set nest to 75 degrees or what is the nest temp, or maybe turn on living room lights or turn off.

Having owned the S3 for a few weeks now, I can say that the biggest and most frustrating problem that I've had with the device is S Voice. I hope Samsung decides to add more features to keep up with Apple and Google. I really miss things such as adding items to a shopping list by voice--something I've really enjoyed using with Google Now. Sure, you can always just download a third party app to take care of it, but since text input is so difficult on a smartwatch, it's nice to be able to wake your device by voice and do tasks with minimal physical interaction with the device.

But in this watches you can not able to see the picture attached to your message. Like the picture message of Viber, WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook messenger. If you want to see that then you have to open the softwares in the mobile. On the contrary you can see the picture in the Apple Watch either it is series 1 or 2.
Thank you I was debating if I should buy one or not and the breaking point for me is if I was able to connect my headphones via Bluetooth to the watch to hear music so I can leave my phone in the locker so I wouldn't be worrying about leaving losing it or breaking it.

Hi EBPMAN The only thing that stops me from getting this good looking phone is the messaging function of this Watch. For me messaging/emails/notifications are important for me. I don’t want to pull out my phone to read a message. I know this phone can receive a text but the problem starts when u receive multiple messages. With this Watch , when receiving multiple messages, u can only read the previous one and not the other messages. I wish this can have a solution to read lots of messages so u won’t have to pull out your phone. Being a bus driver u want to own a watch that can help u read the messages without being being too conspicuous or to fiddle too much with the watch. This is why I’m still using my Apple Watch to send and receive/read messages. But if Samsung rectifies this issue on their Gear s3, I will definitely get one of these as it looks very good. In the meantime I will have to persevere with my functional Apple Watch. (At Least this Watch is capable of doing more in regards to messaging, emails, navigation, pics, Fb, Twitter, etc etc and is simple so simple to use. I think functionality is important than looks) 🤞🏼hoping the next Samsung phone will follow suit. (Or at least the next software update)
You are 100% right. At the end of the day, it's still just a watch. It really doesn't have anything that you don't really need. It's sufficient. And beautiful.
I did on 11-18-16, and got rid of it 2 weeks ago. It did what most of my Samsung devices do after a couple months, got laggy, and didn't work as well. The notifications stopped working 3 times, the last time requiring a factory reset, and the heart rate monitor was trash. Also, mine had an issue where Samsung pay would require a lock code, even when securely on my wrist. It couldn't detect being on or off. Back to the less feature packed, but better performing series one Apple Watch.
I ordered the Frontier from AT&T. got it for free with a 2 year plan. 10 dollars a month for 24 months. plus they giving me a tablet for free. I don't have to attach the tablet to my att account.

I recently purchased the classic s3. I wish it looked more like a women's watch. Even switching the bands, it's too big and masculine looking. I listen to Audible books all the time. The watch allows me to control audible from my watch through the music app, but not listen to it from the watch speaker. That was something I was really hoping to do. I would also like to do the same with Pandora. I also tried to set up car navigation, but haven't been able to get it to work. There are things about it that I love, but I'm disappointed in the number of things it doesn't do. Because it's using Bluetooth, I thought I would be able to use all my phone apps on my watch. Unfortunately, that's not the case.

My Service is with AT&T and I'm about to get my upgrade to a Note 8 and they have a special for a extra device that includes a Gear S3. just watched your video on my gear s3 frontier using an app called xenozu. Had to use my phone to leave this comment. For a watch app it is pretty good. worth checking out if you have the s3 and want to UA-cam on it.
Tablets for Me isn't that if you're NOT connected to WIFI and are out and about. That's when you require LTE, otherwise it will work if connected Bluetooth.
You can define quick-reply posts, just it. So, for example, if you have standart quick reply answers defined and someone questions you - you can answer with your: Yes / OK / No / Nope / Thanks / :) But if you want to - you can create your own..
Tablets: I purchased the S3 Classic and so far love it. However, there is some discomfort while wearing it. I am quite used to wearing large faced/thick watches so that not it. The leather band is quite stiff so I am replacing with a silicone band that is waterproof. Also the edge of the flat portion of the bottom is quite "sharp". It is more pronounced on the right and left sides of the watch. This edge digs into my wrist depending how it is resting. I do not know why Samsung didn't round that edge for comfort purposes.. Any thoughts? Have you noticed this as well?

Gear S3 Classic has 3G/LTE built in - the two watches are, literally, identical except the casing and bigger physical size of the frontier (which doesn't affect anything except aesthetics)

Hi Ebpman, the features i'm looking for smartwatch are 2 things, first, i wanna be able to know if i left my phone somewhere, tizen does have a built in reminder when you get bluetooth disconnection, but i want it to be more obvious, where it will continue to remind you until you dismiss the notification. another feature im looking for is to be able to know if my smartphone is charging or not, sometimes i'm charging my phone and its convenient for me to know that im fully charged, it should also be vice versa with my smartphone.
It doesnt go that far. It will just say disconnected followed by remote connection established and then call forwarding is on if you have the lTE version
OK I'm Sprint customer. One day Sprint will have the service. Question do I buy watch now in LTE? Will it still perform same way thru Bluetooth? And then when LTE comes from Sprint I just pay extra? Suggestions?
+Brian K Zimmerman comes down on your need. The big and only difference is bluetooth freedom. The LTE will maintain and connection with your phone when out of Bluetooth range. That's the big one
So are you saying you want to have that remote connection and call forwarding feature? if yes then LTE is the way to go. However, I dont know that you will be able to use the ATT TMOBILE Verizon on sprint when they support it. GSM vs CDMA would be my concern.
Quick Question: Does the GPS capability show on the watch screen with turn-by-turn directions? How does the phone connectivity with the S3 Frontier work with a non-supported carrier such as Sprint?
There is standalone navigation app , downloadable from gear store with turn-by turn directions.. But, as I know, you need to download map to watch, and because you have only ~1.7 gigs of storage free out-of-the box - maps is little bit limited..
is the map function any good on these watches, if I am site seeing I sometimes use my phone to navigate to POI whilst visiting different places, but I'm not always happy having my phone out on show, I haven't seen many videos showing the map function on these watches.
Kool video as always, the only place samsung pay hasn't work for me is Walmart cause I have chase and my card has the chip hasn't work yet any tips on that
any podcast catcher/player especially if it will sync played position across devices (watch and phone for instance). I use beyondpod but they don't appear interested in building a native app for the watch.

ab30494 i dropped my s6 in the toilet one time, i wrapped it in napkin and turned it off. When my shift was over i turned it on and worked fine. Id say it is waterproof lol

If you golf there are a couple apps that give you yardage and elevation from the hole and they work well. Pretty darn cool imo.

Loading music to the phone is great, but in my experience most people doesn't listen to music like that.

Does Tizen App store have a voice memo recorder you can use through the watch? Do you use gps to find locations of stores/addresses on the watch? what apps do you sue for those? Is there a find my car app for parking or do you have to leave your phone in your car with the gps on the phone to find it using find phone app? How easy is it to use Whatsapp on the watch? Can you see images your friends post or click on web links?
I'd love to see Google Play Music added, especially since Samsung is using it as their default music app on the S8

Ryan Cruzada screen size is the same, the LTE version is a bit larger in it's thickness because it has an antenna for the LTE built in

I recently purchased the classic s3. I wish it looked more like a women's watch. Even switching the bands, it's too big and masculine looking. I listen to Audible books all the time. The watch allows me to control audible from my watch through the music app, but not listen to it from the watch speaker. That was something I was really hoping to do. I would also like to do the same with Pandora. I also tried to set up car navigation, but haven't been able to get it to work. There are things about it that I love, but I'm disappointed in the number of things it doesn't do. Because it's using Bluetooth, I thought I would be able to use all my phone apps on my watch. Unfortunately, that's not the case.
Hey I own a Moto 360 and love it. I use mine too not look at my Phone a lot and notifications I get on my Phone. My Service is with AT&T and I'm about to get my upgrade to a Note 8 and they have a special for a extra device that includes a Gear S3. I'm looking at getting that one too as I was waiting on the Motorola Moto 360 3 version? I've see no news on that coming, you have any news on that?
just watched your video on my gear s3 frontier using an app called xenozu. Had to use my phone to leave this comment. For a watch app it is pretty good. worth checking out if you have the s3 and want to UA-cam on it.

Tablets for Me isn't that if you're NOT connected to WIFI and are out and about. That's when you require LTE, otherwise it will work if connected Bluetooth.
Omar nieves you're right as long as both your phone and watch are connected to the same wifi.

You can define quick-reply posts, just it. So, for example, if you have standart quick reply answers defined and someone questions you - you can answer with your: Yes / OK / No / Nope / Thanks / :)

Tablets: I purchased the S3 Classic and so far love it. However, there is some discomfort while wearing it. I am quite used to wearing large faced/thick watches so that not it. The leather band is quite stiff so I am replacing with a silicone band that is waterproof. Also the edge of the flat portion of the bottom is quite "sharp". It is more pronounced on the right and left sides of the watch. This edge digs into my wrist depending how it is resting. I do not know why Samsung didn't round that edge for comfort purposes..
Any thoughts? Have you noticed this as well?

Does it mean that I mean use the frontiere as a second phone (instead of having dual sim) to get notification on my other phone ? I am asking that because I travel often and I have a local sim and a sim from where I travel from.

Gear S3 Classic has 3G/LTE built in - the two watches are, literally, identical except the casing and bigger physical size of the frontier (which doesn't affect anything except aesthetics)

can you tell if Voxer works with this watch and if so can you actually listen to an audio message through the watch's loud speaker without taking out your phone and can you reply with an audio message or does it force you to use voice to text like android wear and the Apple watch?

Hi Ebpman, the features i'm looking for smartwatch are 2 things, first, i wanna be able to know if i left my phone somewhere, tizen does have a built in reminder when you get bluetooth disconnection, but i want it to be more obvious, where it will continue to remind you until you dismiss the notification. another feature im looking for is to be able to know if my smartphone is charging or not, sometimes i'm charging my phone and its convenient for me to know that im fully charged, it should also be vice versa with my smartphone.
It doesnt go that far. It will just say disconnected followed by remote connection established and then call forwarding is on if you have the lTE version
OK I'm Sprint customer. One day Sprint will have the service. Question do I buy watch now in LTE? Will it still perform same way thru Bluetooth? And then when LTE comes from Sprint I just pay extra? Suggestions?
+Brian K Zimmerman comes down on your need. The big and only difference is bluetooth freedom. The LTE will maintain and connection with your phone when out of Bluetooth range. That's the big one

So are you saying you want to have that remote connection and call forwarding feature? if yes then LTE is the way to go. However, I dont know that you will be able to use the ATT TMOBILE Verizon on sprint when they support it. GSM vs CDMA would be my concern.
Does it have a "Smart Alarm"? (i.e. Monitors your sleep cycle and wakes you up during your light sleep)
Quick Question: Does the GPS capability show on the watch screen with turn-by-turn directions? How does the phone connectivity with the S3 Frontier work with a non-supported carrier such as Sprint?
There is standalone navigation app , downloadable from gear store with turn-by turn directions.. But, as I know, you need to download map to watch, and because you have only ~1.7 gigs of storage free out-of-the box - maps is little bit limited..
Want to see Google Keep supported. What do you use for notes or shopping list?
is the map function any good on these watches, if I am site seeing I sometimes use my phone to navigate to POI whilst visiting different places, but I'm not always happy having my phone out on show, I haven't seen many videos showing the map function on these watches.

Does the LTE version also have the capability of just connecting to your phone with Bluetooth? Incase later on I decide to stop the LTE service.
any podcast catcher/player especially if it will sync played position across devices (watch and phone for instance). I use beyondpod but they don't appear interested in building a native app for the watch.

S6 phone isn't water resistant.
was about to compliment on the video since it made me buy the classic gear s3 I've wanted since it was announced (ended up choosing classic ) and was about to say the s6 isnt waterproof ! Unless its the exclusive AT&T S6 Active , cant wait for the s8 :))

Ir is but only for around 30 minutes. It's a hidden feature.
ab30494 i dropped my s6 in the toilet one time, i wrapped it in napkin and turned it off. When my shift was over i turned it on and worked fine. Id say it is waterproof lol
