omg stahpppp. I just found your channel a couple of days ago and youve bought a bunch of patterns I've been hestiating over; literally just bought the Kiana turtle neck and Freyja dress on my lunch break!! I know a sign when a see one :D Love your execution of the designs and the way you add your own spin. I started sewing about 2 months ago tops and your journey is definitely goals! Keep it up gal!
Yay love to hear this! Those are a couple of great ones, I hope you enjoy them! Thank you, thank you that’s so sweet of you! Thanks so much for watching and hope to see you back here! Happy sewing! 🥰🪡
I've been getting more and more requests for a hair tutorial so it's on the list to do eventually. :) My hair does grow pretty fast but a lot of it is just styling them to be hidden or not. I also have them cut like curtain bangs and those are a lot easier to style in multiple ways than straight across bangs. :)
Loved this video! Legit so glad I found your channel the other day, I’ve been needing more sewing girlies to watch. Some of these patterns are really gonna challenge me but I’m up for it. You look sooo pretty also! ♥️
Thank you so much for sharing your sewing journey! Your videos have inspired me to start sewing and I picked up a sewing machine off of fb marketplace last week! I hope I’ll be able to accomplish one of these dresses one day! I love your videos and use them as motivation!
Thank you so much that is so, so lovely to hear. I'm so glad that you've found my videos inspiring. Love that you got your sewing machine off FB marketplace, that's exactly how I started. :) Best of luck on your next project & thanks so much for watching! :)
Agh! You are 100% right the fabric I was talking about is lyocell and I totally said viscose 🙈. Not sure how I didn’t notice that but thank you, LYOCELL everyone not viscose! 😊
By your recommendation I made the graduation dress and the dream frock. I am an absolute beginner. The sewing part was fairly simple but I had big issues with the fitting 😅. Somehow I did manage though and they are both stunning pieces!❤
Oh yay I love to hear that! Those were both two of the first dresses I ever made as well. Fitting can definitely be difficult from pattern to pattern, sorry to hear that it was a struggle for you but thrilled that you worked your way through it. It's so satisfying once you finally have a garment that fits great! Thanks so much for watching & best of luck on your next project! :)
@CaitMakes Fir the daisy frock, do you wear a strapless bra or is there another way to add support? If using ribbon do you also attach elastic to it like if you made the included straps? I'd really like to add foam cup pads between the lining and main fabric but I'm not confident that it would sit well with all the extra ease. Thank you in advance for any response❤
I don’t personally wear a strapless, but I think that would probably be the best way to add support. You could add cups but I do think it would be a bit difficult to get the placement right since the pattern has so much elastic/movement at the bust. I didn’t add elastic to my ribbon. I kept the elastic in the first two waist channels and then just used ribbon for the lowest waist channel and the straps. Hope that helps! Best of luck in creating yours, I hope you love it as much I love mine!
The L.N Confetti Frock is my favourite too! I made one in a red linen/viscose blend, short with short puff sleeves, the other I made in cobalt blue linen/viscose blend but longer and with just straps. I had to resize the cups to a DD cup. I get lots of compliments!
We have the same taste ❤️ About the Isila dress, I've made it several times, there is a hack to sleeves, she has a UA-cam tutorial, you can put them on/off shoulder
Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed it! I wish I knew the specifics, it was a synthetic four-way-stretch blend from JoAnn. I believe I found it in the athletic section, it's very very soft. I will say that it snags WAY too easily so even though I love the look it's not my favorite fabric. Hope that helps!
@@CaitMakes thank you! I love the way that fabric drapes on you. It’s so pretty. I wonder if there is another type of fabric that can give a similar effect.
Hi Cait, I also made the Graduation dress by Mai Ardour. Its the first thing I ever made. I have one problem that I thought you might be able to help me with :) The straps I made using the bias tape always loosen up when I wear the dress so that it doesn't fit so well anymore on the upper body part. Do you have any idea how to fix or mitigate that problem? Thanks in advance!
Hi! Hmm I don't have a similar issue so I'm not positive unfortunately. In general my rule of thumb is to always do the straps a bit tighter than you think for safety. I also used non-stretch bias binding for my version, perhaps if you used stretch-binding that could be why you're having the problem. If you did use stretch binding, you can always add interfacing to give it more structure and keep it from stretching. If you didn't use stretch binding then I would say you probably just need to take them in (shorten them). I hope that that's helpful. Hard to know without being able to see the garment myself. Thanks so much for watching!
@@CaitMakes Thank you very much for taking the time to answer! I shouldn't have used a stretchy material, I followed her guidance. Anyway, I'll figure it out some way and look forward to watching what you will make in the future. Thanks for the inspiration :)
No definitely not haha. The Loriana dress is Intermediate-Advanced and it was definitely a stretch for me. I just really took my time and it worked out, but I would label myself more as an Intermediate level. :)

Your videos are getting me sooo excited to start sowing! Thank you!
Yay! So happy to hear that! Best of luck on whichever project you decide to tackle first! :)
Please teach us how you do your hair?! My bangs take so long to grow out, but yours seem to grow so fast.

Loved this video! Another great designer (also UA-camr) is Dress Making Amore! They have great patterns for beginners/intermediate sewers ☺️
Thanks so much! I'll check them out, thanks I love finding new sewing channels! :)

Brilliant video thank you! Viscose is lovely to wear, but definitely not eco-friendly. Tencel/lyocell would be a great choice! And wonderful to wear

I tested the daisy frock too, so much fun! I can't wait to make more ❤
Oh no way, what fabric did you go with? Same here, absolutely love it! :)
Great suggestions! I will definitely check these patterns out!

Love the list😍 what fabric did you use on the cream graduation dress?

Gorgeous colours and dresses. Are you a self taught sewist?
Thanks so much! Yes, I primarily learned from watching UA-cam videos. :)
@@CaitMakes wow you are so talented.
Wait! Are you advanced already?! Wow! 😊
