Buttons opening on you can be fixed by 1) altering patterns to add more room through your bust area, 2) sew the buttons closed, 3) install snaps or hook and eye at the gaps.
You can have button blouses. Don’t use the placement of the buttons on the pattern. Put your blouse on and mark the spot right at your bust line. Then evenly space out the remainder of the buttons for the blouse. You can always use more (or less) buttons as you need them. But the very 1st button goes right at the pull of the bust line. I am busty and even without a crossbody bag my blouse will gape at the bust. I have to have a button there.
Thanks for the video! As for buttons bursting open… over time button holes loosen so reinforcing the end of a button hole with one or two tiny stiches really helps! Also I like to add snaps to the inside of the button placket (sp?) between the two buttons over my bust to help fix the gape and take up some of the strain. ❤
thank you for the tip! 😍 it makes so much sense now that you've said it, but it never would've crossed my mind to reinforce the button holes! and snaps sound like a much more elegant solution than safety pins (lol 🙈), thank you! ❤
@@ivanasvlog of course! You’re welcome. I used to be able to get away with anything when I had a smaller chest but after nursing babies I had to learn how to keep an elegant button up buttoned! 😂
This is such a good video, you found a lot of amazing patterns 😻 I really like the Elliot top, everything with puffy sleeves and bows is just so amazing 😂💖
I made the Kalmia jacket. If you don’t get how the collar gets sewed to the bodice let me know. Mood offers no explanation and that’s why I don’t make any other patterns from them because their instructions are barely understandable. And I am not a beginner any more.😅
ah, I know what you mean. I noticed the same thing when I was making the Kiri dress, but googling and looking stuff up on youtube helped. But it's still good as a starting point, just not as comprehensive as paid patterns (understandably so).

Great choices. Next time, can you please leave the images for the patterns on the screen a little longer. I'm trying to freeze frame the first one and it flashes on and off so fast that UA-cam won't let me pause at it.
Great video. I love the weekend designer. He also has another blog called bag-n-telle for making handbags. I found his blogs years ago and have been waiting for him to post but he never did. Great recommendations.
yes, he has so many great resources, it's really a shame he stopped posting. I bookmarked his handbag blog for future projects! I'm so glad you liked it 💖
I've just tried opening those links and they still work for me. You need to sign up to download the actual pattern (without the signup only general instructions open automatically).
Please don't remove image as you explain it. It help to see the drawing as you describe it.
I'll keep it in mind for future videos, hopefully the links in the description help! ☺
Yes please you go so fast, I can barely get a good look at it. Lots of great patterns here.

Great advice, I especially like the 3rd option! Thank you 🥰
Thank you for posting these. Some more projects for my ever-growing list of things I want to make.
glad to be of service ☺

Ahh poop, I got super excited seeing the Ramie dress but its a drafted pattern 🥴 Im not quite ready for that yet! But one to come back to!
I always save aspirational projects to keep me motivated, even though there's no way I could complete them any time soon lol 🙈
