They were each other's counterpart. Peter was a sweet and nice person who gain powers through empathy and questions whether it's worth it while Sylar is power hungry who gain abilities by killing people and wants more.
Peter uses empathic mimicry, sylar also used emphaty to gain powers
Sylar and Peter practically had the same power, except Sylar’s power had that hunger with it and it was incredibly difficult for him to control it. If he didn’t have the hunger, it would be safe to assume that he would try to live a normal life or try to become a hero and use his powers for good like Peter.
@@zackerymoyano sylar has intuitive aptitude. He can solve problems in the brain and stuff. He also has empathy, if he gets close to someone and show them empathy, he can get thier powers. Eg elle bishop. Peter has empathic mimicry. Ability to copy power and use at will. He don't need to even near the person
Peter is more a counterpart of his father.

I feel like the shows main story focus should have been on Peter and Sylar, the first season had it right, we all loved the other characters, but what we really wanted to see was Peter and Sylar both collecting more powers and matching up against each other and fight as good and evil but we never got that..
That's not really what it was about though.
I think you’ll find it was then they messed with the writing in the 2nd and 3rd season
@@yun.mp4728 the last part of season 3 got the peter vs Sylar rivalry right
@@yun.mp4728 Yeah, the writers strike was likely the cause of some of the show's decline (imho). I really couldn't get into it after S1.
Hiro was a great character too, but also, yes.
1:55 So he went invis and started staring at a wall? he deserves that glass shard. 🤣🤣
Peter can be stupid at times. He is really unlucky, though, to get hit in his only weakspot, or Slyar has some kind of crazy high luck probability ability, like Domino from the X-Men.
He turned his back to his enemy and stood still against a murderer.
In the presence of sylar man gets too scared
His tactics are baffling
LMAO Peter literally had the ability to take Sylars powers and stood still?
Heroes hyper up so many Peter vs Sylar fights but never delivered
budget
The fight they had in Season 3 was amazing.
This show never had any idea how to choreograph fights so that they felt exciting.
@@FredHicks they arent marvel.. they barely had a budget for special effects and didnt know what to do with their powers.. like.. at their first meeting.. peter could have been just like wolverine and win by just staying alive and healing.. but nah, he turned his back and died like a chump..
i think they fought again after peter got the hunger.. he owned sylar and pluuged him on that anethetic drug or something.. but it got boring because we realized they would never really fight for real
I miss Heroes😢 I really love this series
But the newer seasons is a bit...eh...
@@MoridaFanadier last season was bad
honestly the only thing I didn't like about Heroes is Heroes reborn. because it didn't hit me like the first series
Same 💔
I would love a high budget sequel. Or maybe even a movie. It has more potential than 2 series'
This show started off so good. It’s a shame how badly the writing declined over the seasons.
that's
what your mom told me about your dad
@@goodwillhumping7331why would you even think this is funny?
yeah that was really unfortunate. Actually the original writer went on a writing strike so i think in season 3/4 when the story radically shifted the new writers took over
Yeah a writer's strike happened in the middle of the second season and they had to scrap and rewrite the story mid-season to attempt salvaging it, but they never really recovered from that.
The first season was supposed to be a stand-alone story, with the second season moving on to a new cast, but the characters proved so popular they had to keep them and the story suffered.
Image if Heroes was Airing now and the Showrunners had a real budget. They could be as creative as they originally wanted with the Sylar vs Peter Fight Scenes. They could do them on a larger CGI, Intense, and Darker Scale.
No.. they would kill Peter off and come up with black lesbian new version o Peter called Petrina and off rip she would already have 10 powers and mastery of them just because vagina and beat Sylar the white male villain easily
@@Deimonos85 this sounds exactly like what they would do
Gay black asans trans with the power of bitching no thanks
The only thing I never liked about this show
@petercaballero8059 always has been. Where the heck have you been?
Peter was so underwhelming whenever he faced sylar
Well yeah sylar is just better. He’s had powers longer, he’s more practiced with them, and he’s more driven than Peter.
@@accidentalmadness1708 Sylar's ability to UNDERSTAND HOW THINGS WORK was what helped him to use his powers more efficiently
@@viiofwands3076for some reason, I never got that detail until somewhat recently lol
@@viiofwands3076that and peter has the intelligence of a cardboard box
@@orderflowarchives When he takes the glass to the back of the head... what was the plan there, Petey - turn your back to Sylar and stare at the door?
I love how they clearly delineated between powers by using VFX, it made it feel so clear what was happening
I love zachary quinto as Sylar, Spock and vampire Charlie Manx. (And he really scared me in American horror story)
He really nails playing a villain tbh he made that season of ahs even more creepy then it already was
"I need you to kill me!"
Or... you can teleport him to a desert or something?
Oh man lol, you are right.
This show was ahead of its time.
The first season of this show will never be beaten. Just wow.
It was always interesting to see what happens between them but, I mean all of the characters were pretty amazing!
And they excluded the best fight scene from Season 3 "Dying of the Light"
The writing on this was all over the place towards the end, It started off so good then went downhill after the writers strike from what I remember, and taking Peter's powers away was just wrong.
Taking away Peter's powers was on purpose apparently.
After the 2nd season, the writers said they couldn't think of justifying any conflict/problems with Peter just being able to do everything
@Spoopball thats cause peter was only supposed to last for one season. He was essentially too OP since he can gain any power by just being near someone.they should have just written him off and focus on another main character
It took how many seasons and how many episodes for Sylar to realize he could have used his original powers to fix himself so he doesn't have the hunger.
To this day I come back to their first fight because it’s awesome! Glass shotgun!
This was one of the best scenes in my opinion. I love the subtlety of the effects, and the music score is perfect
@@djfoord yeah my mom and I was watching this episode other day I told my her the music sound cool on that glass scene
Turns out you the villain Peter. I'm the hero.
Where's the one where Peter is mad on intuitive aptitude hunger and snaps sylars neck
Imagine if Sylar gained Peter's mimicry without killing like he did with Elle. He might discover that he can use powers by simply thinking of them even if he doesn't possess them directly
If you remember when he teamed up with that guy Danko he did ask Sylar if he could take that shapeshifter's ability without cutting off the top of his head and he did
Sylar had no use for Peter's Mimicry - because Peter's ability doesn't gain instant Mastery - he only gets the power, but doesn't understand how to use it to max potential. Sylar's Hunger is actually a better version - however the downside is that it involves killing, and looking at someone's brains. Even if Sylar had Peter's powers, he'd still choose to kill people because he wants the knowledge (not just the power).
@@JS_246 Mimicry is far better..Peter just had to learn how to use the powers he was gaining. Man was absorbing every power around him. He could've killed Sylar if he wanted to.
Intuitive aptitude is Sylar's power. It's the power to understand things. If he mimics a power to empathic mimicry he can use intuitive aptitude to understand and master it.
He did learn how to take the powers without killing from their father but he went back to killing ppl because he liked it more
Show had so much potential
One of the best series to come out in a long time
The writer's strike destroyed this series
Ah, the memories. This was appointment viewing for me, even in its later seasons.
What I always wanted to see was a big fight between Sylar and Peter
Please make more seasons☺🥺
If peter knew how to use his abilities he would have destroyed sylar in one second
Not true.
Of all the fights Peter and Sylar had, Syar won most.
@@juanlaise1059 Nope. If peter Actually masters his powers syler would stand No chance accept it fanboy. Lol
@@dagmawimysongs2188
You are the fanboy. Also, S3 Sylar had the same power as Peter . He could absorb powers without killing.
Bye bye.
@@juanlaise1059 actually Peter won most of the battles. It was a tie while Peter protecting Claire so 1-1. Sylar won the second one (one with suresh) so 1-2. Peter won the one in the season finale 2-2. Peter won the one in the season 3 (episode he lost his powers to his father) 3-2. He won in the season 3 finale 4-2. And finally he won in season 4 (it was a man-to-man fight basically but who cares) at the end 5-2 Peter wins. I didn't add one in the future 'cause we were not able to see the ending of the fight
@@aliuygaraydogdu1253
Peter didn't win the S1 Finale. He was aided by Niki and Hiro there.
They never fought in S2.
In Season 3 they both defeated each other once(the season finale was a sneak attack).
Peter won in S4 in the man to man fight.
Thank you and God bless
The shows main story should have focused more on the rivalry between peter and sylar, while showing the other characters and how each played a part in their lives during their quest for more powers and abilities; the first season was so well written if they had kept up that momentum even when they went the redemption route with sylar by introducing another character that was just as deadly as he was the show would've lasted much longer than it did and we would've gotten more epic and awesome seasons more memorable than the last! 💯🔥😁😉👍
Peter was too weak with all those powers and didn't get to use it potentially
Blame the writers.
And then he lost them like bruh
My least favorite thing about Peter's character in season 1 was that it turned out he could copy AND retain anyone's power. It made him like Sylar without the extra work of having to kill people first, which made Sylar less interesting in comparison. And even the Peter/Sylar comparisons aside, I think Peter's powers changing based on who he's around was much more interesting; it creates all kinds of intriguing scenarios.
Mostly agree. But I would have added that over time Peter's power would grow. Meaning over time he could hold on to two powers, later three etc. But having him have just one for longer would have been great.
Now I want a video about Syl-er
So Sylar has inhuman reflexes to stop the speed of unexpected bullets from Parkman, but didn't have the reaction time to stop a charging Hiro? Also after he flung Hiro, couldn't Hiro just teleport right back and then teleport Peter out like he did many times with Ando? 🤔
He's power's was bamboozled
Plus he was scared
And I think he didn't think that Hiro was ACTUALLY gonna kill him
@@bigbywolf5197 He doesn't look scared to me, and even if he was, it didn't affect him with Matt but with Hiro? He also knew Hiro was going to kill him because he painted it in the future. Were his powers really bamboozled? He just used them against Matt and the others, then not Hiro, and even while he's dying on the ground, he was still able to fling Hiro across the scene.
5:30 - why are they so out of breath just standing there talking? Lol
Probably hot room
Discovering his powers is the thing that ignited his hunger
I miss this show so hard... T_T
OP vs OP
Destined to fight each other.
Why would you, while being invisible, face away from Sylar!?
Best scene of the whole show
Peter vs Sylar is probably one of the best hero vs villain in tv shows series
I miss this show so much
Such a confusing show, but so great
They should have used Iron Man with Infinity Gauntlet on Sylar
Wow, looking back to these days, you can tell the big difference on budgets shows have today
Peter could have gotten so strong bro 🤣😂 they messed up
6:02 really was the perfect place to get a PlayStation ad
Watching 'Moving' kdrama series remind me of this series. This part was the last season I have ever watched. Now, I feel like want to watch it again.
Por favor otra temporada de heroes 🤔😥😣🙏
My suspension of disbelief died here, the chances of glass hitting just the right spot was pretty low.
Can someone share a link to download or watch online
I luvvv Syler!
8:19 "I'm the hero."
*Hiro appears*
"Nope. That's me."
Goat vs goat
First 2 seasons were great, but then when every person and thier dog got powers it jumped the shark. The most frustrating was Peter and solar never having their apocalyptic battle.
Imagine we didn't know Peter's true ability just like Sylar, we thought he eats the brain to steal the ability lol
Zachary Quinto is a amazing actor!
Emphatic Mimicry vs Intuitive Aptitude
what if peter ( old power) vs legion (x men)?
At their best, Legion.
I LOVED Sylar
Peter of the future was super cool, shame he lost his powers and never grew into that
It’s crazy seeing jack and Spock fight. What a strange show.
Blue flames!
If only they realized... This was the peter and syler show. And they nerfed both..
The show went downhill FAST when they de-powered Peter and then gave him watered down Rogue powers.
They didn't nerf Sylar, other than for a little while in Season 2. But he got his powers back, at least TK
8:43 Mr. Nobody cameo!
I liked all versions of peter but iI feel the show had so much potential
i think i really need another show with a godlike power mimic witha kind heart but a bit of an edgy side; this show was ahead of it's time. would have loved to see how the episode would have played out where they crash the air plane and peters around ALL those powered people; but like instead he fixed his powers by this point (or never lost him) so he responds to "Theres too many of them i dont care how many powers you have" with something like "We'll see" followed by time stop and super speed and telekinesis in tandom to round up all the soldier guys
delirium)))
So the thing with Peter is that I feel like he should have had much better mastery over his powers as soon as he came into contact with Sylar.
It's made clear in the first Season that Sylar's power has a more dormant effect in understanding how things work. This includes powers, and this is why, when he uses his powers, he can use them so effectively.
However, Peter never seems to gain that part of Sylar's power. I do get from a narrative standpoint it's more interesting for Peter to have to learn how to control all his powers, but the fact Sylar doesn't need to do that should mean Peter shouldn't have to either.
I haven't seen it in a long time. But I seem to remember that Peter only takes what's on the surface. When Sylar first met and attacked Peter at the School, he used telekinesis to throw the lockers at him. That's why Peter took that one. In S3, Peter actually takes Sylar's core ability when Sylar gives him a broken watch and tells him to fix it. Either way, even without that, Peter's mastery grows as the seasons go before he was retardedly nerfed. We still didn't see that much because well... it was 2006 TV budget.
That's the strange thing. Sylar's original ability allows him to not only figure out how to take powers but instantly master them, whereas Peter needs time and experience to master them. But you would expect Peter to gain the knowledge to instantly master abilities as well when he took Sylar's power. Some people say Sylar had more time and experience using Intuitive Aptitude than Peter did, but that contradicts the whole point of Sylar's ability. It's a shame Peter didn't copy Sylar's Intuitive Aptitude with his nerfed ability, or copy Arthur's power absorption before Arthur's powers disappeared with his death, then there's hope for Peter reversing his nerf.
Peter didn't learn how to use Sylar's intuitive aptitude until season 3. He may have had it before then, but he didn't know how to use it - Sylar taught him in Season 3 before Peter lost all his powers - for me, Peter losing his powers was the downfall of the show.
I still don't know how they managed to make this show so bad after season one and two that it was cancelled. But they did!
Writer's strike, that's how.
@@drummerrck What about the reboot that was lulz
so sylar could stop bullets but he couldn't stop a slow pudgy man from stabbing him in the chest with an oversized katana. makes total sense.
Yeah, this is one of the biggest plot holes in the entire series, in my opinion. Another one is the first time we see Sylar in Season 1, he regenerates from bullet wounds and escapes Parkman - however he had not gained Claire's healing power at that point, so he should not have been able to escape.
l wish l get the parts
If only there was another revival or a movie. If not, maybe a reboot.
no, there has never been a reboot that's as good as the original
I Started this series because I had seen a lot of scenes with my parents (I was only 6 but I was watching stuff like mortal Kombat) so I saw the first season and had seen everything from there with my dad so I knew all the twists 😥
he's not actually you're dad. you're mother has had many cars parked in her garage
1:55 you know something that doesn't make sense Peter had his back to Syler you'd think he'd be facing in front of him to see if hes gonna try something idk just kinda weird
kkkk Foi dessa série que tive a ideia de criar meu fake kkkkk
Halllllo ineed all episodes
Who would win in a tag team… Peter Petreilli and Soldier Boy Vs. Sylar and Homelander
Soldier Boy team all day. Sylar wouldn't be able to instantly upgrade as Peter can,
and from memory not many of Sylar's powers would be effective against that tier.
Having two "erase your power" nukes on the same side is just the cherry on top.
6:45
How in the world did Peter and Nathan not die when Peter exploded?
Nathan got burned badly, almost died(and he was not in the radius of the main blast)
Peter survived thanks to Claire's ability.
Sylar must have Flash level reflexes to be able to turn and stop those bullets in time…
And yet he couldn't stop Hiro running him through with a sword...
@@linuxsurfer2002 seems pretty consistent with TV show Flash if you ask me 🤣
The two sexiest bad boys!!
Sylar is such a wimp without his powers.
yo why did sylar remind me of AFO from my hero academia but darker
Peter is kind of like Leon Kennedy if Leon had super powers.
Sylar was terrifying
She really looks like Tracer.
Silar resultó ser un oponente digno para los héroes
The fact that they took Peter’s powers away ruined this show for me watching him gain more powers was the best part and how him and sylar acquired them differently
It's not good editing, at 3.17 he starts speaking but his mouth doesn't move. Btw nice nostalgia, I was in high school when this first aired.
Anyone else ever wonder why peter is standing facing away from sylar like wtf
I loved this show but like all shows it got to big for itself and forgot what made it great to begin with.
Sylar>all
This video is so mixed up and again wrongly named.
Sylar was better than peter Sylar could understand the ability Instantly Peter took time.
