- "Grateful Dead first sets in the 1980s and 1990s had certain slots for blues songs, Dylan songs, and cowboy songs, and although not all of these slots were filled at every show, most shows featured some variation on these slotted songs. The cowboy medley featured various configurations of Me and My Uncle, Big River, Mama Tried, Cumberland Blues, El Paso, Mexicali Blues, and this great Buffalo show from Brent's final tour featured an exceptional combination in the cowboy slot." -David Lemieux

Will you come with me? Won't you come with me? There's no better place to take a long strange trip with the Grateful Dead than right here. We've got music from every single studio album and a bevy of live albums, to boot. There are celebrated live performances from the 70s and 80s and official videos with more skeletons than you can shake your bones at, an exclusive seaside series on what's to come from the band's rich catalog and details on meet-ups all across the promised land. If it's community you’re after, try your hand at our yearly DEAD COVERS PROJECT competition and connect with fellow Dead Heads around the world. Heck, keep your eyes peeled you might even catch a glimpse of Pigpen on keys, Jerry in a GROOVE, Bobby tellin' tales, Mickey talkin' space, Phil and friends, Bill on the beach, or anyone from our extended family.
It's all happenin' right here. Subscribe and you won't miss a thing.

Quality is great but it's always weird hearing zero crowd noise/ambience

Was there one of my favorite shows. 90 summer tour was 🔥🔥🔥.🌹💀⚡
The Dylan song Maggie's Farm sometimes was slotted here.
@@chrisl68 I was just going to pipe in

Maggie’s >Cumberland was most especially a scorcher.

Super ce chanteur bravo vous êtes toujours aussi populaire longue vie vous avez du talent
I honestly did spend my 21st birthday in Pima County Jail, facing 5 to Life for, drum roll, possession of 63 pounds of marijuana (with intent to sell).
That was Tucson, AZ, 50 years ago when pot was treated like heroin under federal law!
They followed me to the airpirt; I had a 😢 ticket to Washington, D.C.
Some things do get better, eventually.
Marijuana is legal in both cities now.
Damn. Wish I could have been born for this.
I went for ya . Supported the boys so they could continue the trip.
I’ll always remember this show as the last time I got to see Brent with the band! RIP Brent Mydland!
Heartbreaking watching this knowing he only had 10 days left 💔 RIP Brent
Im only 19 discovering the dead but the Brent era is definitely my favorite
Brent sings “ Is there anything a man don’t stand to lose “.
I will never forget this show. Maybe I had too much too fast and overplayed my part and ended up phishing in a 68 microbus. Several juice boxes and water later and I was back in the pack, for more of the same and shaking my bones. Miss the boys and summer tour but I am forever grateful that I got to experience the greatest show on earth
One of my favorite shows I attended. The second set was phenomenal.
Yes!
One of my favorite songs by them especially live. And Tall Boy!
Great show. CSN opened up and absolutely killed it!
Huh? CSN sucked at that show! You were at another show, dude!
I hope you can find peace in the world. I really mean that✌️
CSN is great.
Hug your momma and thank her for putting up with you. One day it will be too late and you won’t be able to, and you will deeply regret it.
Phil bombs galore ! He's nailing it !
7/12/90 best concert of the summer
Wow.....This is 10 days before Brent died.
I saw 2 years before at buckeyelake And then it sadly was bruce hornsby😢who did great but not the same......of course.
This footage is superb quality for 1990. Does anyone know what it would have been shot on? There's more sharpness and shallower depth of field than I'd expect from Betacam. But it certainly looks very much like video and not film - especially with the rainbow aliasing you see on music stands and such.
Great understated band
My dad's generation music
Then l got into them thanks to MTV and Touch of Gray ( dug into their back catalog at 30 and now at 53 have memories to match the songs)
Proof of a good band : the music fits all times all generations
The last good year , once brother Brent left all the energy went with him.
I agree 👍
Forever Grateful ⚡️
That transition into Mexicali is one of the prettiest things I’ve heard
Bob's guitar and Brent's keys are a bit low in the mix.
I feel like bobs guitar is too low a lot of the time
Your mom's keys are a bit low in the mix
Bob always seemed low in the mix during the Brent era. It's strange that Brent is low here to. But I love that we get to hear Phil more.
I wish I could go back to 1990
Excellent footage 👏 was at this show with my brother and a friend
That was an amazing show! Jerry, Bobby and Brent were full on jammin.
Grateful crisp sounds Jah jerrymylitis Jah everything everyone solidarity Tucson Arizona Sonoran desert 🏜️

I was there, fantastic first show for me, loved every second of it. (~):}
I was at this show
Just don’t remember seein’ ya !
Second show for me, and the last time I got to see them with Brent.😢
Miss ya Phil
jerry's guitar tone sounds crystal clear
90's dead was Kick A$$!!!!! 😎🌚
mix on point
Man, that thumbnail, I thought Huey Lewis joined em onstage!
I saw them with ‘Dylan ( in Anaheim.).
The Dead play Hag.. awesome
Bob Weir is dressed like an early 90s dad taking his kids to Disneyworld lol. Far out.
Bobby is so cool. How the heck.
Hilarious how he's playing an 80s metal guitar 😊
I'm just here for the soft rock hits
Jerry was born looking like he was 80!
I was in the parking lot!
Except Brett/Bill
Everybody wore shades! 😎
It's Friday... Peace
Jerry's fingers are youthful
& there is Jerry Alive!:o))))
Sweeet as pie
❤ and ✌
2:06 I literally hear zero keyboards.
Love Bobby's Hollywood hair look.
When I was a young criminal defense lawyer, I had a man convicted of 2nd degree murder at age 21, in 1997; A too frequent occurence in our society🤢
✨⚡💀⚡✨
There..🤷♂️😎💀🌺
I like the way they played Mama Tried at a slower tempo back in 71.
🌴😎💯
👁️👁️
Volumes on this track: Jerry 10. Phil 9. Drums 10. Bobby 1. Brett 2. Where is Bobby?
i came down to comment the same thing! I was watching him play and trying to listen for it and just couldnt hear it
10 days before Brent died
RIP Brent gone just 10 days after this
I wish we could hear Bob's guitar, and not see his looks.
You can hear Bob. He plays very mellow colors, not where you’d expect his guitar to be. Almost keyboard-like.
Great quality but it was over sorry to say
if u want to understand the toll drugs take, compare this mexicali to venetta mexicali. hard to listen to.
I think they had a decent renaissance around this time but the country/ cowboy numbers suffered after 74 and were really😮cringe after 80 or so
lame'
