Damn! I would like to see the whole show. I saw them live in 1981 at two gigs. At the Park Pop festival in Den Hague and a few days later in the north of Holland Groningen at an other smaller festival. They smoked! John Sykes is the man!
Jon was a fantastic and charismatic singer and Sykes already was the terrific guitar god we all know ...they were sheer talent on stage...too much for this pretty good band I think...
Very cool that you discovered the mighty Pan Tang Angry. I'm 32 and heard about Tygers from a friend when I was 25. He asked me if I'd ever heard them but I thought he was joking around. To my dismay, he invites me over and puts the needle onto to Spellbound. Wow! What a badass album. Since then I have found Wild Cat on vinyl but Spellbound is a tough find unless you shell out the bucks.
Thank you soooo much for posting! I met them around this time after a gig in Barrow (Cumbria, north-west England) in this year or maybe 1980. They were promoting the Spellbound album and JJ Sykes hadn't been with them long. There was less than 50 people in the gig, but they rocked anyway! Met them in a local Chinese take-away afterwards, where they signed autographs and chatted. Lovely bunch of guys and JJ was sooooooooooo shy!
I am discovering TYGERS FOR THE `1ST TIME 2NITE CAUSE I WENT LOOKING FOR BLUE MURDER VIDEOS this is kick ass material...how HAVE I gone this far in life w/out hearing them...I'M 36 and pretty damn knowledgable on all things metal
First band I ever saw live (I was15), Manchester Apollo 1982. Fantastic gig - and I got their autographs, sad fan that I was/am! The band with the same name knocking around today aren't a patch on the NWOBHM one.
Thanks for clarifying that. I never knew which show this was actually from. I posted the OGWT tunes about two weeks ago but UA-cam took 'em down because of copyright infringement.
what are you talking about ? Strikelight , Enforcer , Sinister Realm , Airged l"amh , Dexter Ward ! Check these bands ! If you like black or thrash metal there are hundreds of great bands out there ! But Strikelight , Enforcer and Dexter ward fit the NWOBHM style !!!
What a band!! prefer Cox though. If they hadn't released that crap Cage piece of shit album they would have been as big as Metallica. Wildcatz is sooooooo underrated, probably the best NWOBHM album ever.
It was John Sykes who took Tygers to another level. 1981-1982 were the band's peak years with the release of Spellbound & Crazy Nights.
I AM A HUGE..MONUMENTAL..ENORMOUS UNCLE~MR.JOHN SYKES FAN..I HAVE NEVER,EVER SEEN THIS VIDEO FOOTAGE 📹 BEFORE..THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO.

live almost always sounds better with great 80's NWOBHM bands. Maiden is an example too...songs become an athletic exhibition
Just saw them live here in Camden, London at the Underworld. They rocked :) met them after the show too, really cool bunch of guys.
Que rolón!!! Fueron una super gran banda!! John Sykes grande!
Great
Wow. Just discovered this in November 2019. And I was there the 80's. Why did they get no publicity in the US?

Coolest name ever for a band.
I saw them late '81 on tour with Gillan. Man, they completely blew Gillan off the stage!!

agreed, its the rob weir band now. you're so lucky to have seen em live back then.
You can hear the Michael Schenker influence in John Skyes solo in the very start of the solo... nice!
Thanks for clarifying that. I never knew which show this was actually from. I posted the OGWT tunes about two weeks ago but UA-cam took 'em down because of copyright infringement.
only the first one. wild cat. with jess cox on vocals
@holveragtz The song is called "Love don't stay". There is another live video on youtube of that song.
If there's any more of TOPT with John Sykes, then please post. Real music
Jon Deverill🎤 ici au chant :
Très bon, excellent mais différent de Jess Cox.
Après Spellbound,
album Crazy Nights ..
Grande époque de la NWoBHM.
@rockandroll63 Awesome story. I wish I could have seen them around that time.
GO TYGERS!!! \w/
Thank You Pan Tang never hit the States they would have hit it big at the time right sound right era
Yeah, good old rock'n roll, sure is on Purple level.
John Sykes one of the great 80's rock guitarists, definitely learned from the Blackmores and Pages
Good group of Hard rock, I get an album of them .
Incredible. Great riffs, solos, singing. NWOBHM bands just had so much more talent than the junk called metal released these days.
hell yeah, next year they are in playing in Holland! :D
Ειχα αγορασει το νεο τευχος του Μεταλ χαμμερ αυγουστου .. με αφιερωμα στην ελληνικη μεταλ σκηνη .. Μου την σπανε που λενε οτι η μεταλ ειναι νεκρη ..
Good stuff. Sound a lot like early Riot.
@69johnholmes WTF? Bruce is one of the greatest live vocalists ever. Have you even tried listening to "Flight Of Icarus" from "Live After Death"
This isn't Jess, it's Jon Deverill
N.W.O.B.H.M !!!!!!!!
@RoybertitosFan1 Sorry, this is all I've got. I would love to see vids for those as well!
Right...
You've got Killers? Hellbound? Fireclown? on 80's video? if you do, please upload them it would be awesome dude! :D
what are you talking about ? Strikelight , Enforcer , Sinister Realm , Airged l"amh , Dexter Ward ! Check these bands ! If you like black or thrash metal there are hundreds of great bands out there ! But Strikelight , Enforcer and Dexter ward fit the NWOBHM style !!!
personally he reminds me of skid row's sebastian bach, who obviousely came out later.
@vagabond197979 sick! thanks!!
Jon Deverill
I prefer Jess Cox on vocals.
Whats that second song's name at the end???
Love don't stay from Crazy nights album
Πες τα...Liverpool και Metal μια ζωη ρεεε!
what's the song on the ending?
Love Don't Stay. Here's the full video. Tygers Of Pan Tang - Love Don't Stay (Live TV 1981)

Sounds like a cross between Def Leppard and Ted Nugent.
Nope, these are all I've got.
Your breath!
The singer is obviously trying to be Robert Plant - according to his movements. But tygers rule, I like Jess Cox era better :)
who the fuck sre these guys, not bad
What a band!! prefer Cox though. If they hadn't released that crap Cage piece of shit album they would have been as big as Metallica. Wildcatz is sooooooo underrated, probably the best NWOBHM album ever.
Nobody sings Purgatory like Paul, Bruce version is awful haha, still Dickinson is truthful the voice of Iron Maiden.
Too much hip and hair throwing. So Robert Plant-ish.
Right....
