Hi Blanca! I had 2 eggs in one basket and I wasn’t sure if to sacrifice the orchid so the babies wouldn’t get cold. I know they get wet when it rains but I just felt bad pouring water on them and making them cold when they don’t have many feathers. The process went by so fast and they already left the nest and my orchid is alive haha. I did lightly spray them and the plant from a distance when it was hot so they got a bath. If you look back at the video, you also have another set of two beige eggs in an adjacent nest about an inch or two apart. They are probably lizard eggs which I get those too. It’s nice seeing nature do it’s thing and feels so good to contribute to our planet. Love your videos and can’t wait for updates on the birdies ❤️
Breathe busy lady, garden looks great. I also have the grandiflora, 10 spikes 😍, Redlands, why not’s, schumbrika different color, sweet sugar, nobiles, going to try not to go overboard. Not much room for a bunch 🙈. I’ll be there Friday, early entry, I’d like to do the refill for candles, I’ll message you in a bit. Thank you💖💖💖
You should consider putting extra media on your tree mounted orchid, especially for dendrobium. If you can get yourself a whole coconut husk, that would be the best. Try it on a couple of your orchid and you will see a lot of different. I'm from South East Asia, we have too much rain here in monsoon season, but we still need moisture retaining media for the dry season.
What a difference a season makes. Your yard is doing so well. You’re so funny on what to buy at Redland. You know it’s going to be cray fun. 🎉 I love “Why Nots”. The Blue Jay nest with eggs was adorable. See you soon at the show!💚
We were cleaning out our side and front plant & garden beds and were being grazed by Mockingbirds. We located the nest in our huge Firebush tree. They built a nest using Spanish moss they picked from my vandas mounted on coconut palms. We haven't gone by to disturb the nest and alerted the lawn company to be careful when walking past. These birds are ruthless and will stop at nothing to protect their territory. Your garden is looking great be patient for the Morkaras to take on the palms.
I wish I could go to the Redlands show... if I did get to go, I would want to find some mokara orchids, and perhaps some more cold tolerant dendrobiums. 😊
bought 1 oncidium at the RF sale last month i think its dying so not getting that for now, i don't want to kill anything. Nebuly (not sure if its spelled correctly), cattleya hybrid something smaller and scented with sunset colors. I really want a gramataphyllum but need to think strategy of where to put it. I also want a shaborkia , spelled wrong haha. Now we need updates on the birds!
By the way if you have any questions about the data base please ask. You may also want to send a copy to Nelson, he is full of technical knowledge and may find it useful. Andrew
