Thanks for coming by Hong Kong! I really enjoyed watching your videos. Just wanted to add that bacon and eggs are actually very much part of a traditional Hong Kong breakfast, because we’ve adopted a lot of Western foods into our diet. At home we sometimes have Western style breakfast like eggs, ham, sausages, cheese, bread, oatmeal etc., and at other times we have the more traditional Chinese kind like congee and Chinese style eggs and pickles and other traditional side dishes. There are actually restaurants that serve this kind of traditional Chinese breakfast (I would recommend going to older districts like Happy Valley or Wan Chai). The place that you showed in your video is more of a 1950s kind of Hong Kong diner (born from that era), serving Western-inspired Hong Kong style food, but the food served there is more like fast-food than a traditional meal. I personally don’t know anyone who has egg tarts for breakfast (so I would say it is not really a breakfast food), but milk tea definitely is a staple here! 😁 I feel that Kowloon has a different culture from Hong Kong Island, and when most people think of Hong Kong, they associate it with the Kowloon culture. In any case, I hope you enjoyed your experience here! Thank you for visiting our city!
Thanks for visiting my city - subscribed after seeing your other China videos. Enjoy the time in HK, Food is great, transport is easy. Naturally lots of British influence, so you will see alot of reminders of UK/home.
Since Hong Kong was a British Colony, a popular type of Hong Kong breakfast is as the lady showed in the menu, eggs, sausages, bread etc. Ofc there are the congee and Chinese doughnuts. You get the best of both worlds!

Everything is more expensive in Hong Kong, but China doesn't force its will on Hong Kong, hence the 1 country 2 systems policy. Same with Macao.
