This aircraft has had quite an interesting past, originally bound for Varig is 1999 the aircraft was not taken up and was delivered to Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight where it operated till 2004. It was then transferred to Etihad Airways for almost four years before going back to Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight and final becoming part of Air Niugini's fleet in 2010/

You will experience the real feelings of nostalgia and emotional impact on your very being when see our Bird of Paradise soaring the skies to land ( or take off) in foreign lands. My experience when I saw our Air Niugini in Singapore Changi Airport, our Airbus looking smaller and dwarfed by the huge China and Singapore Airlines... But how proud and patriotic you will be to see you very own airline proudly bearing your flag and Bird of Paradise emblem taking of diverting South East going home back to PNG..!!😪😪. that's when you will realize, you come from a country, home of the Bird of Paradise, your home, my home, our country, PNG.. 🥲😭😭😢

Message to the photographer: The wind noise is louder than in real life, so in the future, you should use some type of blast or wind filter over the microphone to keep the very distracting noise to a minimum. This video capture is best viewed with the sound down or turned off.

Yes - this is the National Airline of Papua New Guinea (Air Niugini) with the Bird of Paradise logo on it's tail and is owned by the Government of Papua New Guinea.

Thanks, not a rare catch thought. We get 3-4 flights a day with Air Niugini, they use a fleet of 763, 737, 738 and F100 to serve Brisbane. 763 is usually 2 flights day, 737/738 is one flight a day and the F100 is only a few times a week.
