    Every time you hit the "scavenge" button or whatever in like Fallout, and get resources out of a laser rifle or something, what you're not seeing is hours and hours of this.
    Bethesda, get on that.

    We really need electronic junk yards like there are for cars. 1). It would take less space than a car junkyard. B). It would help with the lack of Right to Repair. Last). It would save working parts and give people the sense save the parts that still work.

    • @timtrzepacz3452

      That would be my house. Help!

    • @1pcfred
      @1pcfred 3 роки тому

      Beyond the ignition system you really do not need any electronics to make a car work. You can just toss any of the fuel related crap out and put a carburetor on any car. Probably be better off for it too. I've got to have electronic ignition though. Because points suck.

    • @markvickroy6725
      @markvickroy6725 2 роки тому

      @@1pcfred he didn't mean for car electronics. Also, you're not correct concerning anything at all modern re cars. But a regular junk yard is a car electronics junk yard.

    • @markvickroy6725
      @markvickroy6725 2 роки тому

      There are such places! They are disappearing though. Electronics Exchange, RIP.
      Maybe if the business model was to get the "junk" electronics free somehow, maybe, it could work. But a car junkyard goes in a big greasy field somewhere with either a trailer or shack, or maybe a cinderblock building at most.
      Electronics, not so much. Much higher operations costs.

    Back in college, I designed a really nice motor control and lithium-ion battery management board for a robotic research platform. I was wasted for the entire process, yet the whole system really turned out fantastic. That's the moment I decided I was a true engineer; realizing that even when I am drifting within the margins of consciousness, I still exhibit some kickass electronics design skills.

    I quite like what you did with that old chip there at the end. What do you say to building a YM2151 and YM3012 on a breadboard? I've tried to make it work but I don't seem to understand. You don't have to go all Ben Eater on it but I think it would be neat to see it driven with hardware only. Actually I hope to use it in a project to make some beeps and boops. I don't even know what the difference is between analog voltage and dc voltage so my attempt failed

      A small part of me died when he autopsied the victim while it was still conscious. Back in 2008, the Garmin Nuvi was a nice GPS and would still work great today. Was stranded in my car so I walked 7 hours the rest of the way. Jammed out to music I had on it with the 3.5mm jack and even told me stats of my average speed walking and how long it took to get there. Took images with my SLR on my way. Try that will a smartphone and see if it's not dead by the time you get there. It's a stretch to call it outdated technology. They were so expensive back in the day and someone could still use it who don't use smartphones. They spy on you constantly anyways but what do I know.

    I remember my older brother messed around with that radio shack voice IP chip back in like.. 1984? He was pretty handy with electronics so he was able to not only figure out how to make it loop but split up the 20 seconds into individual 4 second banks and make one of those portable soundboards activated by buttons. It was sooo hi-tech back in the day, now everyone has voice recording in their pocket.

    19:06 Impossible Mission!
    Regarding how the DeLorean could be powered: Radiothermal generators with Peltier-Seebeck elements have a horrible efficiency, but require no moving parts. All you have to guarantee is to cool one side and heat the other. The Peltier elements could be directly coupled to the stainless steel hull of the car. Plutonium could be used to heat the inside, while all that ice forms on the outside, resulting in a nice temperature difference for the Peltier elements, generating power. Of course you wouldnt be able to draw 1.21 GW from that in real life, but maybe Doc has something figured out that we don't yet know.
