This is the most helpful explanation I have watched about how to break down a chicken. The pointers, the perspective. I watched 6 and this is the only one I could follow. Thank you

Thankyou as a burned out chef, who know longer has the confidence to do things like this after years of abuse in high end kitchens, with a massive fear of doing things wrong😕 I will keep this video saved, for whenever I try to breakdown my confidence issue's

I've been raising chickens on my homestead for a few years now. I'm getting ready to dispatch some birds this morning and wanted to review ways to break down a chicken. Your video was very good as it gave so many alternative approaches in just a few minutes of watching.

Spatchcocking is really good, especially for even and quicker cooking, but keep in mind that some bones might splinter and come out through the skin (hurting your hand) and be careful when you're eating because bone splinters are sharp. Also I've tried this method a lot and it works well but remember to keep the meat hydrated- since it doesn't have the cavity, it can't really trap moisture

I came here because of an article, that I was reading online. The article was discussing the oyster of a chicken. I had to see what they were speaking of. I don't recall hearing about that part of the chicken before.

KFC has a “9 piece” breakdown of a chicken. Is it the pointed part of the breast pair cut off before splitting the breasts in two? Great video! Thanks

Fact: historically, you are to make your wish prior to breaking the wishbone. It’s bad luck if you break the wishbone before making a wish.

Great video, with wonderfully demonstrated techniques. What brand of honesuki is that? Been thinking of picking one of hose up, and wondering if you have any recommendations. And why are you using that while linking to a chef knife, as the "best knife to use for this technique?” Kind of funny. Do agree on your pick for the best poultry shears, bought them awhile ago, probably on your recommendation, and I love them. I even like them better than my regular kitchen shears just for opening the little packets of oils, seasonings, kecap mani, etc, for my instant noodle addiction.

Horrible video for learning how to cut up a chicken. Some actual instruction would be nice. If someone is learning, they can't be cutting the chicken and watching the video at the same time. I can listen though while seeing what is being explained
