Bodyterranean is a full "body music" recording, where all compositions and arrangements are rendered exclusively with sounds produced by the human body and voice.
    About the song:
Lyrics by Giuseppe Aprile, melody by “M° Costanzo”, from the area of Salento, Puglia, Southern Italy. A poem about emigration and homesickness, composed towards the end of the 19th century, in the “Griko” (or “Grecanico”) language, a Greek-based dialect slowly disappearing, but still spoken in some areas of Southern Italy, which dates back its origin to the years of “Magna Grecia” (Great Greece), when this part of Italy was colonized by Greek people, from as early as the 8th century B.C. The melody must have been composed a few years after the lyrics, and the song soon entered the traditional repertoire of the region. Vocal improvisation by Bryan Dyer and Raul Cabrera. Female solo by Elsa Mouratidou. The closing of my arrangement is the most authentic example of “body music” in the album, since it is the recording of my cat Cleopatra’s purring, in my home studio.
    Who knows, my little swallow,
    which sea is bringing you,
    and where you came from
    with such nice weather.
    Your chest is white,
    your wings are black,
your spine has the colour of the sea,
and your tail is cut into two.
    Sitting on the shore,
    I stare at you.
    You lightly bend, lightly drop,
    lightly skim the water.
    Who knows through which countries
    you must have passed,
    who knows where
    you built your own nest.
Alas, if knew that you passed
through the place I came from,
I would ask you to tell me
as many things as you can.
But you do not utter a word,
as much as I ask you.
    You lightly bend, lightly drop,
    lightly skim the water...
