I highly doubt we’ll be able to get Bruno Guimaraes out of Newcastle, especially in January. I don’t think we’d go for Kimmich, and I don’t see any other 6/8 type of player out there that we can get. We definitely need a proper CDM in January now imo(Ederson or Zubimendi). Ederson would be my #1 choice, he’s a bit more mobile and can cover ground well defensively(he is still good on the ball but he is more of a Fernandinho type of player than Rodri). And considering we have pacy winger options now that don’t provide as much ball control as we had w previous wingers, I think Ederson type of player would work better, plus having variety of profiles in CDM position would also be beneficial for our squad strength. My main question would he want to come? Rodri will be out for the rest of the season injured, plus it will take minimum half a season (maybe even a full next season) for him to start feeling somewhat comfortable with that knee again. So basically we possibly will not have fully fit Rodri for almost two seasons.🤦♂️ Plus it’s an unknown if Rodri will ever be the same player after this ACL, hopefully he will be🤞, but we have seen several instances where players were never the same after such injury.

Jacob Wright mins and praying Kova and whoever can hold to down. Jan can come but this club is so weird with brining in players, there’s loans, I like Maxence Caquaret, or any older short term 6. But it’s unlikely. The injury is pretty much the end of our season in my eyes. My expectations are on the floor. This is why we desperately wanted Bruno G, that 100 mil was practically nothing
I think the outcome of 115 will have HUGE influence on what City do in the Jan transfer window regardless of what the team is doing. In the event that we have, at a min, not been relegated OR have some obscene number of deducted points, then we should go for someone who can play for Rodri but who can also play elsewhere too. I am not sure Zubamendi does that, but given how much Husam and the LFC fans would cry, I think it would be worth it. Kimmich would take care of our issues as he could play in the 6 and the 8 when Rodri returns. He knows the Pep system and only has 6 months left on his contract. No brainer.
Think Pep needs to evolve into a double pivot… Rodri likely won’t be able to play a lone pivot when he gets back for a very long time. Suspect that’s where he goes this season without him, so would be easy to just replace a pivot with Rodri when he is ready (maybe 2026 like you say)
Nunez doesn't get enough credit. With that said, i feel he should be better by now and fit in more easily somehow. If only he had bernardos brain.
