Yup, the Mario RPG remake is brisker because everything is faster in general. Mario's default speed is run instead of walk, and everything else in general is quicker, like combat ending faster due to splash damage etc., but MAN what a fantastic remake. And it's so neat to get a full on RPG experince in like 15-20 hours with more time tacked on if you pursue the new postgame completion!
I can't wait for the Paper Mario remake next year!

It’s probably my most anticipated game right now. I never got to finish the og game but I’m hoping I’ll be able to experience it in all its glory and more

I can't wait either. I do have it on GameCube but never got around to playing it. My daughter played it all those years ago and raved about it so I definitely will get it on the Switch. My GC is still hooked up but it's hard to go back to it.

Love to see Octopath Traveler II right out of the gate, my personal Game of the Year (tho I never got to Pikmin 4 or beat Tears of the Kingdom). Such a great RPG.

My top 5 games on Switch are in no particular order C Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Bros Wonder, Metroid Prime Remastered, Red Dead Redemption 1 and Sonic Superstars ( mainly because it was released in 2023, it will be updated in the near future as I get more games from this year). I really like Super Mario RPG even though I suck at the moment but it’s so addictive.
Awesome list Felix! I love that you choose F-Zero 99 on your list! I think more people should try it and it's a really good concept and super fun and has good rewards! It's really good!
11:15 I agree wholeheartedly! Once I completed Red Dead 2 I felt like it was a convoluted mess that took me ages to complete because I could only play for a few hours before I felt like I was just playing an Arthur Morgan simulator. Red Dead 1 towed the line of realism with its mechanics and the story elements. I think it lives unfortunately in the shadow of its successor.
Octopath II was such a joy to 100% for me. I really love the Octopath series and hope that it's something they continue with going forward, there's just so much good potential there. Red Dead Redemption is a game I've really been wanting to try out as I love the old west genre, but there's just been so much this year it's been impossible to find the time.

Well Mario RPG does have more content than the original if you play the end game rematches but that would probably just make it the same length as the slower original.

I ought to take another look at Octopath Traveller 2, the first one was underwhelming, but it seems like a lot of what I didn't like was improved.
Dang, talk about a fake out! I saw Disney Illusion Island in the intro but it's not one of Felix's five picks. I recently completed it, 100% no less, and had an amazing time. Highly recommend it for anybody who loves platformers and it's a no-brainer if you have any affinity for Mickey and his friends. D'lala Studios knocked it out of the park.

RDR 1 runs so well on switch. The price tag sucks, but it is still worth it. The game overall is great. I was really happy to play it again, especially since I bought the ps3 version as one of my entery games to gaming (Meaning I sucked really bad and didn't progress far). The game still holds up for today amazingly, and feels very spot on the switch along with BOTW on my shelves.

So the director of F-Zero GX/AX is now more free since stepping away from the Yakuza series, plus SEGA is on a hot streak lately. C'mon Nintendo, make it happen! Make an another arcade version that interfaces with the Switch! Put them in barcades. Add a deep online multiplayer component. The market is different now and I think F-Zero could really make a comeback.

You obviously need bang boom bang action every 12 seconds to keep your attention :) CoD, fast food and Michael Bay movies might be for you. RDR2, Filet Mignon and Martin Scorcese for others :)

I don’t understand anyone who doesn’t have TOTK as nr 1 on any 2023 list
Because it is a dlc with stupid lego mechanics and an underground which consists of one single biome and some copy paste sky islands. BOTW was magic, TOTK doesn’t hold a candle to this experience.
They are each doing a list and probably don’t want to repeat games.
f-zero 99 was a terrible recommendation. there is very little you can do to win those races. It's more luck than skill with the amount of stuff going on.
